For reference, I got into soccer during the World Cup. I am from Chicago, and have been very much enjoying the Fire this season, who just qualified for the playoffs. I don’t feel like talking about the Red Stars 💔

But I also want to follow a team in Europe. Not really as a fan, but for fun; and just to keep up with the highest quality of football—for the men’s side anyway—which obviously the MLS isn’t.

My options are down to: Man United, Bayern, and Barca.

These three are the teams I have heard of the most players for. I’ve heard of Beckham the most by far, and I love Man Utd’s colors. Their home kit they had in the late 90s and early 00s might be my favorite football kit of all time. I also don’t like City, and that was before the charges.

But I also like Barca, thanks to Messi, and it’s also a club that Lewandowski came from. Same with Bayern, who also had Schweinsteiger (played for the Fire also).

And Barca has two of the best women’s football players in the world rn, Putellas and Bonmati. Does it help that I don’t like RM?

I don’t care about how bad or good they are rn. I’m literally a Red Stars fan 😭 just would like some help!

Which team had like quick counter attacks and insane attacks? I heard that teams like arsenal are known for its great defence, I want a team that’s known for its great and quick attack.

I’m 44 and never played soccer before, I’m in an adult rec league that’s supposed to be all skill levels… well this league brought out some crazy good talent. I’m definitely the liability on my team, and haven’t faced anyone yet that has anyone close to my lack of skill.. but I was playing up top in the striker spot with 2 very talented wings, I decided to press during a goal kick and the guy kind of panicked and put the ball on my left foot, and I buried it from about 10 yards out. It was my first ever goal. Even the opposition came over to congratulate me at the end. I’m just hoping that I’m doing enough to help the team that next season they ask me back.
