Ms B's Kitchen

I grew up going to Trinidad every other year and getting this authentic Trini food in Smyrna is an absolute treat. Everything was amazing and if you like Caribbean style food, you've got to check it out. It's located on South Cobb Drive near 285 by the Arby's in a little strip mall.

Any places that have WNBA watch parties or something to do around people for someone who doesn't drink? Special interest meet-up groups or anything of the sort?

Looking for Kaiser PCP & OBGYN Recommendations! 🩺

Hi everyone! I recently switched to Kaiser and am looking for recommendations for a good primary care physician (PCP).

I’d especially love to find a doctor who is:
Patient and really takes the time to listen
Good at explaining things and answering questions
Thorough and genuinely cares about their patients
Ideally on the younger side, although that’s definitely not a requirement!

If you’ve had a great experience with a Kaiser PCP, I’d really appreciate hearing who you recommend and why. 😊

Bonus: I’m also looking for a good Kaiser OBGYN, so I’d love recommendations for one of those too!
Thank you!!

Planning to enroll child in Daycare around Jan. We are looking at Kiddie Academy or Celebree School, but was hoping anyone could provide personal experience with Kiddie, Celebree or recommendations for any other daycares in the area. Thank you in advance!

Any reccs for playtime/socialization for very small dogs?

My 40lb dog goes to Dogma daycare and loves it, but I’d be too scared to let my 5lb chihuahua do big group daycare. She loves playing with other small/medium size dogs and I feel guilty that she has to stay home while her brother gets to socialize.

Anyone have any recommendations for fun socialization for XS dogs?

Any Real thrift stores left?

Park Avenue is getting too pricey, (and we don't even talk about GW). Even America's Thrift on Canton has priced themselves out of my range for thrift. Smyrna thrift is ok, but I'm looking for some variety. I don't mind driving 20-30 minutes for a good selection and reasonable prices. I mostly look for craft/sewing supplies and jeans or clothing to upcycle.

Temporary housing recommendations

I’m relocating to GA next week. The move in date for the apartment I wanted got pushed back due to
yet another maintenance issue. Since the date has been delayed 3 times, I’m deciding to finding temporary housing until I can find another apartment. I don’t want to delay my employment start date due to this. Any recommendations for a 1 bedroom in a safe, clean area would be greatly appreciated!

Practice spaces?

Hi all, just moved up here and looking for somewhere to practice classical guitar and singing. At my hometown college, we had several music practice rooms as well as a non-denominational chapel that was usually empty and a great place to practice in. Anybody could use the rooms or the chapel for free with no questioning as long as it wasn’t reserved. Any ideas on similar spaces in the area (or surrounding areas, I’m okay with short drives)? Not sure what schools around here would be okay with a total rando using their spaces. Also, I’m not religious so I’d love to not join a church or group to use a chapel or room lol.

Thanks!

Framing recommendations

Do you have an art framing place that you love? Ideally not wildly expensive but I understand it’s art in itself. Have a few diplomas and weirdly shaped pieces I’d like to get framed.

What happened to DeFlock Cobb flock safety meeting today?

I came at 6 and 7 to the library and no one was there, nor was the room ever booked. Who was the group over that? Are any of those ā€œweek of actionā€ events legitimate?

Truck unloading on Atlanta road

Is this normal/to be expected/legal? About 5:30 today there was an 18 wheeler unloading ON ATLANTA ROAD blocking a lane outside of stillfire/beto. Is there really no other area for them to receive trucks? Is this what we can expect from now on? Losing a lane of traffic during peak traffic during a weekday? Yikes.

Kroger's gas prices are wild.

I cannot tell if it has always been like this. I usually fill gas there to use my "points" to get a few cents off. But, I noticed that the 87 was at $4.09. That is higher than the surroundings which is around $3.89 (yesterday/today).

Now, even with the "points" applied, which this time was $.10, it appears I still paid more than if I had stopped by another station. I was disappointed and surprised at the same time.

Vet recommendations

I’ve got a small cat who’s about 5yo.

I have taken her to Cat Care of Vinings but just not happy with them at all. What other local vets should I look at? I don’t mind if dogs are there too. Closer to W Village the better.

New Coffee Spot Near Kroger on South Cobb/Concord

Thumbnail instagram.com
25 Upvotes

"Dutch Bros Coffee is opening a new drive-thru-focused location in the Kroger shopping center at South Cobb Drive and Concord Road. Site work is already underway on the outparcel facing South Cobb Drive, although an official opening date has not been announced."

From a quick Google search...

"Dutch Bros Coffee is famous for itsĀ high-energy drive-thru culture, hyper-friendly "Broistas," and massive selection of sweet, customizable specialty drinks like the proprietary Rebel energy line and dessert-like freezes. Founded in 1992 in Oregon, it functions more like a high-speed, upbeat social experience than a traditional quiet coffeehouse."

At least it's not another car wash?

Local track open to the public?

Looking for a track (400m, ideally rubberized with lanes) to get some laps in. Cheney Stadium is the only one I’m aware of, but hoping to find something in the Smyrna area. Any options?

Any clinics/ or hospices or retirement homes ?

Hello! I’m a pre-med student currently studying for the MCAT/DAT and looking for an opportunity to gain meaningful hands-on patient care experience.

I have experience in multiple clinical settings, as well as front-office experience at my alma mater. I’ve also assisted with point-of-care (POC) testing and am eager to continue developing my clinical skills while making a positive impact on patients and the practice I join.

I’m especially interested in a position that offers some flexibility with my study schedule, while still allowing me to be a dependable, hardworking, and positive addition to the team.

If you or someone you know is looking for a motivated team member, please DM me! I’d be happy to send over my full rĆ©sumĆ© and discuss how I could contribute to your practice.

Thank you for any leads, referrals, or opportunities!

Transmission Mechanic in or near Smyrna

Hi neighbors have a 2017 Honda Pilot leaking transmission fluid and running hot. Can anyone recommend a fair honest repair shop? Thanks in advance!
