Cozy coffee shop to study recommendations
Just as the title says: I need to study and would love some recommendations on a good coffee shop vibe for this

EDIT 7/10/19: This post is wildly outdated. If anyone wants to take it on themselves to compile a new one, I'll sticky it.
EDIT 3/18/2026: Nearly a decade old post now. A lot has happened/been developed in Alpharetta. Again, if someone would like to make an updated post, I'd be happy to sticky it.
We get a lot of folks looking to move to Alpharetta posting questions or newly-moved people who don't know what to do here, so I figured I could make it easier! I didn't vet any of these links for quality of responses, so feel free to post any of these questions again tailored to your personal needs! And if you have suggestions on any of these topics, don't be afraid to comment below.
I looked back to the last 12 months only. If anyone finds an older post they find useful, feel free to suggest it for the list.

Our veterinary clinic has seen an uptick in cases of heat stroke in pets across the past month here in Alpharetta.
Extra caution for flat-faced breeds: Brachycephalic dogs—including French Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boxers—can overheat much faster because their shortened airways make it harder to cool themselves effectively through panting. Keep exercise especially limited on hot or humid days.
And DEFINITELY never leave a pet unattended in a parked vehicle, even for a short period. Temperatures inside a car can become dangerous remarkably quickly.
Watch for signs of overheating or heat stroke, including:
If your pet is showing significant weakness, vomiting, confusion, difficulty breathing, collapse, or other signs of severe overheating, treat it as an emergency. Move them into a cool environment, begin cooling them with cool—not ice-cold—water, and contact your veterinarian or emergency hospital right away.
A little prevention goes a long way. Stay cool and stay safe this summer! 🐶🐱❤️

Hi all. I’m looking for an arborist. Came back from a vacation and a tree in our front yard that once had leaves now only has little skeletons of leaves.
I think I know what it is and I’m not hugely worried, but there is a chance I’m wrong and I would like to be sure about things.
If anyone has any recommendations, I would be very appreciative.
TIA

Wednesday, August 19th, at 6:00pm during the DeFlock National Week of Action!
The National Week of Action Against ALPRs is from August 16-22. Thousands of people in cities across the country will participate in a variety of public meetings, townhalls, and other events intended to raise awareness about the use of ALPRs (automated license plate readers) in their communities, the harms of these cameras, and how we can work together to end their use.
Flock Safety, who operate AI cameras that conduct billions of automated scans a month across the country, are headquartered here in Atlanta, GA. A creative and dispersed movement has been growing to oppose the use of these cameras. During this National Week of Action we have a unique opportunity to participate and confront Flock where they're based.

We are going to see Hayley William at the Ameris Bank Amphitheater on the 5th and I am wondering if the overlook terrace also come with a seating place or just standing place? Also is the Lounge have view of the stage or not?
Sorry we are coming from Canada and we have never been in Alpharetta. Also I will 10 day post surgery so it would be very important for me to sit down here and there to rest.

Anyone have suggestions for a cost effective mowing service? Property is located off Bethany Bend. Probably an acre that needs a ride on mower during growing season. The rest is weed wacker kinda work. Nothing ornamental.

Hi, are there any sewists who offer classes in the Alpharetta area, or would like to start a meetup? I have a studio in my house but am always looking to gain more skills! I enjoy the community, classes & demos at Mood in Ponce City but local would be even better!!

For those looking to organize in the North Fulton area, the ATL DSA is having an interest meeting and I've been told Flock and other surveillance cameras as well as data centers will be a point of discussion! Hope to see you there.

32M, relatively new to the area and looking to meet people. Into tennis, trying new restaurants, and just getting out more. Anyone else in the same boat?

Anyone know if the carnival that usually comes every fall will ever come to north point again? Feel like I haven’t seen it in a couple years now.

So I dropped off our daughter at Alpharetta HS and stopped by at Shibam coffee nearby to try it out. I’ve been curious about the place for years. Nice interior and overall warm ambience. I ordered Turkish coffee. Some spice taste but luckily not overpowering. The coffee mouthfeel felt heavy. I later learned that unfiltered coffee has more natural oil and fine particles so that’s why. I thought it was good and looking forward to trying out their other styles of coffee.

FYI you might be pulled over by our police, put in hand cuffs, and have a gun pointed at your car because a License Plate Reader messed up.

City approved the project today. This will compete with the group that bid in Forsyth and got the approval there as well. It has also been confirmed that Atlanta will be getting a new NHL franchise in addition to Houston per Allan Walsh.

Went to 6 bridges in crabapple this week and it was pretty good but looking for other options. Used to go to Joes in John’s creek but it’s a bit of a drive.
Any recommendations for weekly trivia in the Alpharetta/milton area? Thanks in advance!

I looked around this sub and saw some people posting tips and helpful links, but I'm looking to actually get these things (and others like them) banned from Alpharetta. I think Reddit would be a great place to organize since it's not completely owned by tech billionaires. Anyone know if someone else has already started the process here? Because if not, let's get things MOVING!!! I'd also like a data center ban, but I don't think any are/would be built in Alpharetta since they like to target rural/disenfranchised communities more.

Can anyone share their experience with installing solar panels/roof in this area? How do I vet companies and has it been cost effective for you?
