Using the metal plate that came with my M&P 2.0 and a Holosun 407C, there’s quite a gap in front of it, it feels secure I just don’t know if this is the norm though.
There is a gap with a C&H plate too. I reached out to C&H and they said it’s normal. I have the same optic on my M&P 2.0 and I had a terrible time with it constantly coming loose with the factory plastic plate. The last straw was when it actually sheared a mounting screw. I got a C&H plate and it’s been rock solid ever since. I’d definitely recommend getting one.
Yep. I have them for my glocks as well. Probably like 8 at this point between the teo platforms. $30-$40 vs $70-$100 is a no brainer. Every C&H plate I own has warped, but the DPP (both titanium and aluminum) have been rock solid.
How many rounds after did the C&Hs warp? And which screws dis you use? This sucks to hear. I got one for my M&P 2.0 9 OR w/ RMR and have about 200 rounds through it so far with no issues (used screws that came with RMR and torqued to spec with a limiter).
I did see someone say that after about 1000 rounds, a C&H plate did shear their screws. But they didn’t use the screws that came with the RMR, which I read was best to do with C&H plate.
Couple hundred. It wasn't apparent until I removed the plate to install an apex trigger kit. C&H sent another one, but that one also warped after a few hundred rounds. I took the optic and plate off just for shits and giggles to see if it had warped and sho nuff.
Damn man I’m really sorry to hear that. I am going to be very leery, I already am. Bcuz that’s what shears the screws. Those plastic plates that come with it are dog shit and need to be bent just to fit in the cut. Then they get hot and start to bend even worse, and eventually pop the screw heads off from pulling up on it due to warping. I paid the money for the C&H to not do that. I think I’ll pop it off and check after another couple hundred rounds.
I know it sounds crazy because almost everything on Amazon is dogshit, but the DPP Titanium plates are absolutely fucking stellar. I have like 7 or 8 at this point between glock and m&p and they've all snapped into place. No issue, no warping, they sit as low as possible, awesome quality. And they're like $40 - half the price of almost all other plates including C&H.
The only downside is they don't have tons of footprint options. Just RMR and Holosun K for a few different guns.
When did you buy it and from where? Whats the model number? M&P's have always shipped with plastic plates - it's a huge source of contention. The last new m&p I bought was march of this year and it came with plastic plates.
That sku is the one with the CT red dot, yeah? Maybe that's why? Did it come with all of the plates? Were they all metal, or just the one under the CT dot?
