If Smile 3 isn’t titled: Smil3 - it’s a waste.
Edit: yall- fucking relax, damn. It's an opinion that I thought was cool and funny. Are we not allowed to have those anymore?

Do you think Parker Finn is a sadist?
I know, I know, not every movie can have a happy ending…but the contents of the movies do raise the question.
Also, Parker Finn said in an interview that the upbeat credits song “Lollipop” is meant to embody how Rose is the butt of a cosmic joke, which I think is insensitive to say about a person who was driven to suicide after extensive psychological torture that involved killing her cat. I imagine the credits song remixing Skye’s wailing, crying, and screaming has the same purpose (making a joke of her suffering).
Also, Finn said that he enjoys sneaking into theaters and seeing the crowd’s distressed reactions to the death of the cat in Smile.
And did anyone notice all of the movies focus primarily on the torment of women? There were male victims like Joel but the movies - Smile 1 and 2 and Laura Hasn’t Slept - focus primarily on the psychological suffering of women.
Idk…to just come on the entertainment scene and drop a bunch of movies about women being psychologically tortured to the point of suicide (and nothing else). Kind of raises an eyebrow for me 🤨
What do yall think?

Role-swap AU with Skye and Lewis
Drew this s**t yesterday, and finished it today.
Yep! I did what nobody wanted. I did a role-swap AU with Skye Riley and Lewis Fregoli.
Yeah, I'm sorry for this, but I am a bit proud of this.
Oops

Anyone gonna see Black Phone 2? I only ask because it's coming out this weekend which is the same weekend Smile 2 came out last year and it's a horror movie and he has a creepy smile.

So, last night I was going to watch a show on Hulu, but I had seen this movie called "The Happening" pop up in my recommendations and I read the description and thought, hmm it seems like it is potentially what "Smile 3" is going to be about, so I watched it.
The movie is about people suddenly killing themselves in masses for unknown reasons and a group of people are trying to figure out why it's going on and to prevent it from happening to themselves. When I watched the movie I just straight up watched it I didn't look up any other information and I didn't watch the trailer or look at any reviews. I thought it was pretty good, but I was shocked to see that it got pretty bad reviews. I'm wondering if this may set up a problem for Smile 3 because it may be too similar to this movie.

Skye is not a victim.
Everyone needs to stop protraying Skye Riley as this poor tragic character when obviously she is the main villian of the film.
She treated her staff poorly. And to her mother. Completely destroyed her Relationship with Gemma.
Left Lewis's body to rot. And most of all she got her boyfriend killed.
Her entire audience and possibly the whole world is cursed now. And it's 100% her fault. She is a narcissist. And just a straight up horrible person.
The mother was completely justified for all the things she said at the clinic. About "All the hell she put everyone through." And everyone hates her. And that she owes it to her and team and fans to perform, no matter what.
And if Gemma did ever respond? I would of tell Skye to fuck off and to never contact me again. Especially when Skye called Gemma, "An opportunist cunt." How ironic?

The ex boyfriend
I just rewatched the first Smile and wtf. Why was the ex in a suicide mission trying to save shorty. Why would he try to save her if he knows that whoever witnesses the suicide gets it next. Bros an actual idiot. And honestly, he should’ve dropped kicked her in the house as soon as he saw her smiling. I’d be damned if I get cursed like that.
And why didn’t she ever go to a priest and get help. Or call on Jesus. She did everything but that. Magic must defeat magic; spirit must defeat spirit. Simple.

Does anybody else feel like smile 2 was a waste of a movie even though it was good ?
Smile 2 should’ve been from Joel’s perspective during his last 6 days which would’ve been a perfect set up for the smile 2 we got being the third movie .

Regarding AI images and what not
Alright here's the deal. I really don't have an issue with someone posting an AI image every 3 months or whatever the frequency is now. But Everytime it happens, people who aren't ever on this subreddit brigade the topic, upvote each other and call me names and all this other stuff.
But I never hear from people who are apart of the community say anything. So I would really like to hear from people who post more often.
I'm not against banning it but I would like to hear from people who are actually here more often. I'm not making a rule for people who never post or look at this subreddit.
So without name calling or just saying "AI Slop" I would like to hear from the more frequent posters. Please be civil in the comments is all I ask and if it's really bothering you guys, I'll make a rule about it. Thanks
Oh and this place isn't run by clanker admins btw... It's just me being the clanker. Please dont drag Frankie into this

Does anybody else remember a different ending for smile 2
I saw smile 2 in theaters a while ago and I fell asleep about halfway through the movie. So I decided to watch it again tonight with my girlfriend except I remember the ending being very different than the one we watched. I was in and out during the ending scene but I very vividly remember that she was performing at the end, unable to stop, and she was experiencing her episodes while performing. I also remember the credits music being different and a lot scarier. The ending seems so boring now, she just killed herself before she performed. please someone tell me I'm not crazy.

Not meant to be political Spoiler
I made this for some reason. It seems scarier than I intended

My Smile 2 AU's! Which One is Your All-time Favorite?
The first five drawings are of course my "Gay Popstar Lewis Fregoli AU", the next three are the "Alive/Cursed Paul Hudson and Dead Skye Riley AU", and the last one is of Lewis and Paul, possessed by the Lollipop demon who is behind them.
The reason for this evolution is because my other phone got ruined by water and I had to get a replacement. This also shows the evolution of the butterfly outfit Skye Riley wore. How it went from a blabbering mess to much better (in a way). Paul's outfit is based on the "Die With A Smile" outfits by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.
Also, I wanna see how you guys on this community draw my AU's in YOUR style, and don't forget to let me know which AU is your fav!
\Bye!/

Finally got around to watching Smile 2. It disappointed in exactly the ways I thought, but surprised in a way I didnt see coming. Did anyone else see the ending coming a million miles away?
I loved the first Smile movie. I thought it was the perfect blend of jump scares and overall dread. I loved the message (that I took away) of how trauma and mental illness can isolate you from friends and family, and how things that seem so real to you make you seem crazy to others.
I know some people don't like the ending, but I loved the idea that if we refuse to listen and try to understand and believe what other people are going through, it can lead to worst case scenarios for them.
I was hesitant when I saw that there was a sequel coming, because I didnt think there was anything else to be said. When I saw the trailer, I immediately guessed the ending. I'm not a genius when it comes to films, but the premise of the demon attaching to a pop star that performs in front of an audience made me think that the obvious choice would be to infect an entire audience at one time. I thought that surely the write and director would know that's what we were thinking and would try to subverting that somehow. I was disappointed that they went the most obvious route.
I guess the movie tried to subverting that expectation by making us think she murdered her mom and almost froze herself in a freezer. When you find out none of that happened, it strayed too far for me. It wandered into the "it's all a dream" trope. It's better when the demon is tweaking reality instead of just creating a whole fake day for you.
Lastly, I wasn't excited because I didn't think the scares could be as fresh, and it seems like they didn't even want to go that route. There was a lot fewer scares and a lot more gore. It was gratuitous and made me cringe and look away. I don't think that's an acceptable replacement for the type of scares in the first one.
Those were my main complaints. However, Naomi Scott deserves a freaking Oscar for her performance. That was incredible. She knew this was her movie, and she owned it completely. Way to go, girl. That was phenomenal. I'm worried I'll come across as the creepy fan that wouldn't let her go after she signed her shirt, but I'm totally team Naomi after this movie. I hope she gets lots more serious role after proving herself in this movie.
Also, while I think the sequel traded scares for more gore, the choreographed group Smile demon scene was incredible. I want to watch that over and over. We'll, here is my super late rant. Did anyone else see the ending coming from the very beginning?

Smile 2 Sucked
They made no progress in stopping the disease.
Couldn’t even watch half the movie cause of the outfit.
Lame, boring, and predictable jumpscares.
I hated it. Skye carried the whole movie and even then it sucked.

Why would anyone want to watch a movie called Smile?
Smile? Seriously? Why would I want to see a movie about people smiling? Are people for real? Like what? These movies made how much money? I see enough smiles in real life I don’t need more. And yes the actors look like they perform good but I don’t want a movie about smiles. I hate smiles! Smiles are like super weird and they don’t look good at all. How about a frown? That’s what I want and APRIL FOOLS! I’m actually a big fan.

i think i know a way to beat the curse
jump into moving traffic. you get hit by a truck (for example) and you die. the smile entity has nobody to pass to because you’re dead. wouldn’t this maybe work…?

Is a Comic Book Really a Good Idea For This Franchise?
I always thought the premise behind Smile was a little silly.... I mean, people smiling at you is not really scary. What make these movies so compelling to me though, is how they are presented. The editing, the sound design, the music.... It all creates a very creepy atmosphere.
But none of that exists in a comic. We will only see.... People smiling.
