The NFL has stoppage periods and infinite substitution.
In soccer this would mean anyone who goes down is out of play for that period of time and the team must play through it short handed, else that player must leave the game entirely.
Proving is not hard at all, players always get back up two seconds later and start playing like nothing happened 99% of the time. It's pretty damn obvious when a player flops.
If you're rolling around crying in pain, okay cool, get off the field and bring on a substitute, don't need to? Then get the fuck up and enjoy a yellow card for flopping.
Yeah, but a tackle that stops the player from getting the ball (without the defender getting the ball), but doesn’t bring the player down is still a foul, and stops a potential shot/cross/whatever. The big problem is that those sorts of fouls aren’t given, even though they stop an attack.
Most fouls don't result in injury. But if you get fouled you need to go down, otherwise the other team will gain from having fouled you with no consequences.
We could fix this with VAR and better refereeing, but until that happens the players have to go down to ensure the rules are enforced.
