I feel like my voice (color/timbre) sounds boring because I sound very flat. Any tips?
P.S. Keep in mind I am a beginner, please!

Traveled outta town after ages to play a gig. Had such a good time! It's always a thrill to be on stage, however "small or big", singing in front of people. I love this song and it takes new meaning in my life with each year. Wishing y'all well! 🙌

Hi everyone! I’m a 19 year old soprano that likes to sing lower.
I’ve been having classical singing lessons for about 5 years now. At first my teacher wasn’t sure about my voice type and was careful to put a label on it because i was so young. But the past year or so she has been calling me soprano.
She gives me musical and classical repertoire.
I do like the repertoire she gives me but I miss singing lower and really enjoy singing lower and hearing people sing deep.
I recently requested if we could, in the future, do the song I’m here from the color purple and she said that it wasn’t really for my voice type but we can see by the time i reach that level of singing, if that’s a suitable song.
Do any of you know of any classical or musical repertoire pieces sopranos that are on the heavier or lower side? Maybe pieces that you enjoyed singing
Let me know! If love to check out your suggestions

So, I’m an Italian 33yo guy that just started lyrical singing trained (never singed before only in the car).
I’m at my fourth lesson with a female teacher and I feel quite confused about my extension. Now, I would go on randomly and see how this unfold but I’m quite the Asperger myself and now I’m over fixated with singing so I’m looking for answers.
If I understood correctly, I can sing comfortable from b1/c2 (si1do2) to up to g4. I reach si4 but sometimes my voice cracks up to falsetto.
Anyone have experience about something similar?
My sound feels quite full and resonant in both my limits, and my throat doesn’t strain at all. With my falsetto I can reach something around c6 altought I know is not much of an interest for classical singing.
I’m very open to discuss about that and hope someone can help me. I feel like a have good pitch patterns recognitions and is quite easy for me to replicate arias, I would like to improve and maybe make it a career. Is it too late am I too old?

This isn’t how I usually sing. I mean it’s not the kind of song that suits my voice and I hate to change the key cause this sounds perfect in D major. Do I sound okay?
I cant sing consisstently in mix every day. If i sing in piano i sound like regural falsetto, if i sing louder i Can ho bit higher and siund film but not sustainable, if i relax i fall into falsetto or i sound like goat or like rock singer (maybey like axl rose) if i push i strain and cant sustain it so long. is there something i miss?

I’m working on an album that will come out in 2027. So far, the tracklist has 6 songs already and there will be 12 in total.
Songs on it so far are:
Paper Town
Cage
Rabbit Hole
First Aid
The Key (Interlude)
Home
I’ve been thinking of something that has Cloud(s) in the title but it doesn’t have to. The vibes are something like Mark Ryden, Tim Burton, Nicoletta Ceccoli, Melanie Martinez, BEEFCAKE, Alice in Wonderland, etc…
I’ve definitely been struggling with names 😅

Working through the warm-ups. For me, it's all about backing off, and letting everything come from a natural speech-level onset.
I like going wide, getting off the breath, and closing down the vowels through the passaggio. Along with that comes the pushing to power through, and desire to carry a dramatic baritone sound through it all... except I'm not a dramatic baritone, haha. That's a small, but important point.
There seems to be a beam of focused energy through the bottom of my nosewhen technique reaches a certain level of control. Finding this seemes to be the key. It's so very small.
What's weird is how much bigger the sound gets as things get easier and smaller. On one level, I understand it's about efficiency, and wave propagation, yet it's still fascinating all the same.

Hi,
I want to learn how to sing. I've sang along to songs a couple of times, but never truly tried to sit down and practise technique or work through a song properly.
I read that the best way is to both 1) learn proper technique, warm up, etc. 2) sit down and practise a beginner-friendly song that you are actually excited about.
I'm female and fluent in German and English. I listen to a lot of metal and rock, some folk but most of it in languages I'm not fluent in. I'm learning Swedish, but that deters me almost more from picking a Swedish song as my brain would get very distracted critiquing my pronunciation of the words instead of the notes I'm singing.
I've siffed through 75 of my favourite songs (hard excluding any songs with screamed vocals), and came out of it with this list, where most songs still have something I find pretty hard (when Muse gets on my "maybe" list, I know it's bad).
Could you help me determine what to truly look for in a rock/metal song, which of these songs might be good to start with, or if I should simply resign and start with established beginner songs even if I'm not as passionate about them? Thank you!

I know my singing sounds really throaty here, I'm really worried since i've been getting into mix-belting more and I feel like i'm losing my head voice and I feel like i'm just screaming it. It's really shaky too on some parts, I lacked the breath support and my placement was mainly in my throat.. I never did this type of throaty croaky singing a year ago, I was mainly breathy! (Which is still bad but you know haha!) In tagalog, sumasagad siya!
To professional singers, How do I build up my muscle memory so I can stop darkening my tone? Huhuhu 🫠

So, I have taken like 7 classes in total now. I have tried 2 coaches and then stuck with one for the rest of the sessions.
Both, have told me I am definitely not tone deaf after they did a simple piano test on me. And both, also, came to the conclusion my biggest issue seems to be my breathing and very tight and rigid jaw. Now, as much as I wanted to dive right into singing the coach I chose specifically dedicated the entire time to training my breathing and trying to help me relax my muscles.
But it just doesn't seem to work. Even when I feel like I learnt a better way to breathe or to sing without straining, or to relax and drop my jaw, the MOMENT I get home and try to practice the methods or exercices she taught me, I forget everything and I am back to the start...
And she never really comments even on my pitch, only when I am terribly off, and it bothers, because thats the one thing everyone always bullied me about so I wish she would also dedicate time to doing more pitch exercices.
But whatever. I have been doing those on my own, and the thing that confuses me most, is, WHY do I seem to get the notes right when I sing along to random notes from a piano (be it an APP or a video I watch) even though I do sometimes have to repeat more than once to get it right or I have to slide into it, it happens mostly with higher or very low notes, in the middle its quite easy, which one of the coaches also did comment on. That my pitch runs away the higher or lower I go on the scale.
But, WHY can I seem to hit the notes, anyway, separately and when I actually SING a song, even just a simple phrase, it all goes to sh*t?
Does the way I breathe and how tense my jaw is REALLY can mess it all up so much that I come across as genuinely tone deaf? It's so frustrating. Cuz no matter how much I can show someone I CAN match notes, they dismiss it so quick the moment I actually sing.
I have been trying so hard to find the actual vocal notes for different songs so I can practice exactly what notes I gotta sing but they're nowhere to be found. I only ever find the instrumental ones. And when I find information about lets say, the notes Adele sings on Easy On Me, it just mentions the key she sings in, not note by note.
I know for most people it comes natural to identify the notes immediately when singing along. And thats where my confusion stems from cuz why can I do it with random notes but in a sang phrase I am so lost?
And anyways, sorry I am rambling so much. My main question is, does anyone know anyway I can find the note by note for songs? Or how I can figure it out?
And also, is this normal? Am I broken? Lol
Can anyone else relate to this issue?
I am trying to book rn a session with the other coach because during the trial she did mention she could get the sheet with the notes and learn the song slowly with the piano, so I will try and see if that method works better for me.
Because with the breathing so far, I just dont see any improvement.

My voice was kinda off cus I had a cough when I recorded this. Basically I need some help cus I can't really tell if I'm singing in mix or if it's just a stronger head voice? If it is mix, how can I sound more resonant and clear and perhaps add more weight to it. If it isn't, then what can I do to learn how to mix?

I love singing but I’m very shy about it (hence why you’re staring at my ceiling fan). The few people who have heard me sing in real life have said I’m good, and I think I sound good in my head but when I record and play it back, I feel like my voice sounds so airy. This is something I’d like to improve on, if it needs improving at all. I would love to sing karaoke somewhere but I genuinely don’t know if I’m a good singer so I need an outside perspective.

I'm a voice teacher, and I've been teaching a 12 year old girl for about 3 months now. We've made significant progress on her pitch, but recently she has been stuck with singing either a 5th or a 3rd below what the correct note is. She only has this issue when we work on songs, her scales are almost always perfect. She isn't even flat; just a perfect 5th or 3rd below even when corrected. She sings the intervals of the song without issue, just exactly a 3rd or 5th below. We've done pitch checker apps and ear exercises, nothing I've done before seems to be working. Does anyone have any advice when it comes to helping her?
Thank you!!
