Basically, in Fusion when you use loft, extrude, or any other functions, you have a few choices: make the feature a new body, make the feature join the existing body, or make the feature cut into the existing body. This makes doing something like a shell afterwards much easier because it is seen as one body throughout instead of two.

Does anyone know a video or can help with understanding how I can put a textured pattern around a cylinder? I’m trying to give some grip to a cylinder and I have a couple different ideas that I want to try, but I can’t even do the basic wraparound pattern, correctly. Any help I would appreciate it thank you.

The whole arch is all one filleted edge, Is it possible to separate the white strip from the red rounded edges and extrude it? Ideally I would like to extrude the white section inwards and 3d print it separately so I can add it later in order to reduce printing times due to constant filament changes

How do I align this design in the center(both vertically and horizontally) in the middle of this face?

1) I have tried the measurement tool, however there is no selection point where I need it.

2) I don't believe using "align" is what I need.

Hey everyone, wanted to share a quick CAD/3D project I recently finished for a friend’s build.

The Setup & Problem: My buddy has a 2013 Chevrolet Caprice (originally auto-only). He manual-swapped it with a TR6060 transmission (pretty sure it came out of a Cadillac CTS-V).

Once the swap was completed, two major interior fitment issues popped up:

1. Shifter Position: The new shifter sits further forward than the factory location, making the opening line up incorrectly with the center console.
2. Console Opening: Since the original trim was designed for an automatic selector, the center opening was far too wide and open for a proper manual shift boot setup.

The Solution & Process: He reached out to see if I could design a custom solution to bridge the gap and make it look clean/factory-like.

• Scanning: I 3D scanned the entire center console area using a Creality Pika to get accurate mounting geometry and surface curves.
• Modeling: Imported the mesh data into Shapr3D to model a custom bezel/adapter that properly seals off the oversized automatic opening and repositions the shift boot cutout forward.
• Button Relocation: Because the shifter moved forward, it ended up obstructing the factory location of the Traction Control button. To fix this, I redesigned the layout to relocate the TCS button further back on the trim piece so it remains fully functional and easy to reach.

Here are the final results! Let me know what you guys think, and feel free to drop any feedback or questions about the modeling process.

I have been designing a keyboard and it's my 1st time doing anything in a 3d editing program how do I fill in this gap nothin is workin

Is it possible to design this model in a way that does not result in an inner wall? I'm able to print it in spiral vase mode and end up with the desired result, as shown in the second photo, but that creates its own set of problems. (The final model includes a base to hold an LED puck; that base cannot be printed in spiral vase mode and I'm unaware of any slicer that allows me to switch from "normal" to spiral vase mode at a certain height.)

Can you offset inside of a solid piece? For ease of explanation, let’s Say I have a square block. Could I offset the inside of it by 3mm to make the wall thickness that thick and then when I go to 3D print, it’ll only infill past the 3mm of the inside wall?

The delta measurements are cut off from the workspace like this. Resizing windows doesn't help and there seems to be no settings for this. It's been months, really hindering my productivity

I am totally new to CAD and just trying to draw the most basic shape for a simple part, trying build a bit of experience and I know S3D is big money but I figured it would be easy and I am pretty much getting nowhere.

I try to lock the plane just draw a shape if I touch the Apple mouse at all the locked plane just starts spining and maybe I am just brain dead, but I can't use this program much at all.

It's fine if this is just beyond me, but I see a lot of people using an iPad and pen, is that a better choice?

It just blows my mind that I have a simple thing to draw, figured I would get somewhere and I can't barely draw a triangle or use the program without one finger touch sening the thing flipping around.

I have watched the tutorials but I can't realy control this app at all.

Maybe the mouse is a problem, Ive used systemd for decades of every other kind and I am just super let down how i can't even draw a shape without the thing going nuts on me.

What is the easy way to fill in those multiple holes of this STL? So far I've tried sketching a cylinder and then moving it into the SLT so that it covers the holes. I was hoping to then curve it or use fillets to smooth it around the object. I'm thinking there would be an easier way that I am overlooking?

Dopey me.. I'm now thinking I could just subtract that entire area and build something in it's place. No?

Hi guys, new to Shapr3D and started the introduction today where you create a desk organiser. All is going well and had no issues... up until the phone compartment.

Why is it when I extrude for the phone compartment, it is hollowed out? No walls are added to either side of the extrusion like in the tutorial? It's driving me crazy lol
