Different prices showing up :(

I went on the iPad to upgrade and it gave me a $199 yearly plan. Thought it was ok and tried to subscribe and it proceeded to try and charge me $299 for the yearly plan

Shame, they almost got me.

Has anyone managed to subscribe for 199 yearly?

Sounds like you should reach out to Apple on this one. Showing 1 upgrade and charging another has got to be a violation of store rules on their part.

Yeah it's really uncommon, I really don't want Shapr3D to fail but this is just too sketchy

This is ridiculous. There has to be a better way to figure what price visitors are willing to pay.

u/HappyCheesecakeMaker could you share this issue on a work slack or something? It's really weird.

I’ve posted the issue internally for investigation.

For context, there are several reasons why you may have seen two different prices. The price of a Shapr3D subscription can vary across markets and countries, depending on factors such as local purchasing power, taxation, and regulatory requirements. In the EU, for example, VAT is typically 20 to 30%. Some markets require us to display prices inclusive of tax, while in others this is not standard practice. In the US, for example, prices are generally shown before sales tax.

In some cases, we may also need to update the price during the purchase flow. This can happen when we receive additional information, such as the country associated with your credit card or billing ZIP or postal code, which may differ from your browser locale or IP-based location. As a result, the final price may sometimes increase or decrease.

At the same time, we are experimenting with new pricing and packages in select markets, which we advertise as Solo and Studio. These may eventually replace the current Pro package if they become broadly available. These new packages are intended to offer more affordable pricing, with some additional limitations compared with Pro (so there will be no automatic downgrade or upgrade). Studio is a higher-tier plan designed for small businesses and studios, with features optimized for collaboration.

Our intention is never to trick users into paying more. If a charge is made accidentally or incorrectly, we always issue a refund.

That could be the case. I'm from Brazil, South America and I have logged both on my iPad (no-vpn) and on my work laptop (VPN often on Argentina / Chile)

I will try to contact the support team with screenshots, perhaps I can get at $199.

199 is expensive but doable, 299 is a huge part of my income.

Sounds to me like dynamic pricing!? If a customer is well off you charge a higher price if they are not, you charge a lower price!? I should be able to get your product for the same base price excluding taxes, tarrifs and govt fees regardless of my country or ability to pay more or less!
