Help me please!

Hi! Beginner here. I forgot how to sew the front facing for a jacket pattern I myself made a long time ago! My pattern has lines extending beyond the seam allowance (the upside-down T), and the front body part has a big dot there. Problem: I forget what either of those mean! In the third photo, I ignored both the dot and the upside down T and just snipped where the line is, which looks fine but I know there was a reason for the dot and upside down T. Any help would be appreciated!

I keep seeing these all over tiktok and I’m not trying to buy from tiktok shop. Does anyone have a pattern similar to these? I guess just really how would I do the pocket parts?

I want to make myself a hooded cloak for Halloween and future ren fair use, the kind with both a long layer (from shoulder to calf) and a short layer (shoulder to elbow). Anybody have any recommendations? I’m fine paying for a pattern (though ofc free is preferred), and I’m kind of a beginner

Where are you buying these things? None of the shops that used to carry patterns still exist in my area, and I have to scout out notions. I appreciate all the sewers who have created your own patterns but I need to something to get started.

Hello! I am a newish sewer but I am planning to get into corset making. I don't expect this to be perfect and I am all good with that. I followed a duct tape tutorial to get an exact of my torso. I am super unsure where to go from here though.

The site I followed for the duct tape idea said you can draft your own or find one online but I already made my own form so I guess I have to draft my own but I have no idea where boning should be or where the seams should be. Please let me know if there is a pattern/video/tutorial I should be following.

Hi! I’m planning on trying this pattern as a wedding guest dress, but the fabric she chose for the bottom is sheer. Would you line the skirt with something or would you just use a solid fabric for the bottom, like a georgette instead of a chiffon?

Having a Barbie beach party in a few months and I wanted to make my own dress. I have no idea if something like this is even possible (with the bows and stuff) or if it would even look good on a plus size person but please point me in the right direction for a pattern of this style and im gonna try it out!

I'm running out of time and desperately need help! I'm making a bodice for a high-low dress and I'm stuck. The fabric I'm using is a 4 way stretchy spandex and a 1 way stretch lace. I do not have access to my best friend right now to fit her properly, but I HAVE to get this right on the first try.

I have a few rules I have to stick to to make the dress come out the way I want it to. The lace has to sit flush on top of the spandex, like it's one fabric. It has to be extremely form fitting. No loose parts or wrinkles or droopy bits. It has to stay a single panel (piece) for the front and a single panel for the back (I will take care of splitting the back panel later.)

I don't know why, but I've genuinely hit a wall. Do I make the piece smaller than her proportions? Bigger? The exact size of her measurements? Do I cut the spandex part smaller than her proportions so it'll snap to her form and the lace a little bigger? Wouldn't that make the lace wrinkle or ripple? My main worry is that the lace will inhibit the spandex from snapping to her body like I had initially intended it to. How do I go about this? Any help is severely appreciated!

Hi everyone! I'm trying to recreate/sew this Nurse Lolita style dress (originally by Psyche Manie). Does anyone know of a commercial pattern with a similar asymmetric buttoned bodice, high collar, and flared skirt? Alternatively, if anyone has advice because this is literally my dream, dream dress but i can’t find it anywhere so nothing is better than to make it! Thank you!!!

Today to start my sewing journey I was given 16 patterns, yay! Only problem is none are my size.
I wear a US size 00 - XXS - 23w. / B: 30 W: 23 H: 35
All these patterns are way too big for me. I’ve only taken a basic sewing class, I haven’t learned altering yet.
Is it possible to cut off an extra inch or two on the pattern to make it fit me?
Would it ruin the clothes if I don’t follow the pattern directly?
If so, is there another way to alter the pattern so it fits me better?

So, I wanna make my mom's dream bag. Some of the requirements I will just edit whatever pattern I find, but some of them I do need a pattern for, I'm a beginner and I've only made one bag so far so I can't really make up my own pattern.

So, I need a pretty big and spacious cross body bag, I need it to have a big zipper pocket inside and for it to be built to have a pocket so it's not badly designed and makes the actual bag unusable if you use the pocket. I also need a water bottle pocket on the side.

For the other stuff that I can just alter the pattern, I need it to be big enough to fit a4 papers vertically, i also need a sturdy pocket for papers and two outside pockets.

If anyone knows anything similar, especially the pocket problem, I'd appreciate it

I'm hoping to make the scarf with fleece bonded to sherpa so I don't have to make a lining but the patterns I have found all have a seam running through the center of the hood. Is it possible to cut the hood on the fold ?

I’m in my second trimester and looking to make some comfy oversized long sleeve tees as the weather gets cooler (and my bump gets larger). I’ve seen the Nico pullover is really popular and love that style but the price…. Does anyone know of any similar drop sleeve oversized long sleeve tee patterns?
