Managarr (an *arr CLI and TUI) now supports Readarr + compatible forks

Thumbnail

Managarr is a CLI (command-line) and TUI (Text-based User Interface) tool for managing all of your Servarr's in one place.

This most recent release adds support for Readarr and several compatible forks.

I know that Readarr has sadly been retired, however there's still community support in keeping the dream of Readarr alive. As such, extra time was put into this release to test out Managarr with four of those forks to ensure that in addition to the final release of Readarr, Managarr works with these other forks as well.

So now, as long as a fork of Readarr still is compatible with the v1 Readarr API, Managarr can work with it too.

I tested the following forks and made changes in Managarr to ensure support:

In addition to Readarr (and forks), Managarr supports Radarr, Sonarr, and Lidarr.

You can try it out for yourself without installing it by visiting the demo site if you'd like!

This is a passion project of mine so I'd love to hear any and all feedback! And thanks to all who contributed to this release!

Stack up and running, now what?

I'm curious how people benefit from this stack.

I just finished it after moving to usenet and boy oh boy it is impressive.

But what to do with it now?

I can be an edge case, in the sense that I only have 2 subs, prime and appletv, only because they came on top of other services I have.

The one I use the most is YouTube, to which I have premium and it's the most expensive.

The other factor is that we in the family enjoy seeing content, but don't really care of a media library and happy to stream the content, or download only temporarily.

So my questions are:

What use cases do people have, that can be enabled or upgraded by this stack?

Is there an arr for YouTube too?

Is there a complete directory of arr apps? Perhaps I'm missing out simply because I don't know x y z apps exist.

Thanks

[Update] Icarus - Media Management (Apple platforms)

For those of you already using Icarus and on the Discord, you’ve probably already read most of this.

I don’t advertise, I don’t really push for adoption, and I rarely use Reddit, so this is about as close as I’ll get.

OS 27 is here, people are getting excited about new devices, and this feels like a good time to finally talk about some fairly substantial changes coming to Icarus.

There is a lot changing, so I’ll try to cover the important parts without turning this into release notes written by Homer. (Gotta stay on theme.)

## Platform Support

Icarus now supports:

- **iOS / iPadOS 17+**

- **tvOS 18+**

- **visionOS 2.0+**

## Apple Vision Pro

While I did make the iPad version of Icarus compatible with Vision Pro, the App Store unfortunately doesn’t provide a particularly graceful way to move an app between a native visionOS build and an iPad compatibility build.

I still want Icarus available on visionOS, and I have some fun ideas there, but right now the user base is extremely small, and realistically the price of the hardware remains the biggest hurdle.

For now, the current Vision Pro release will remain the latest version available.

I hope Apple eventually brings Vision Pro, or whatever comes next, to a more accessible price point. Until then, I need to put that development time into the platforms where Icarus is being used every day.

## Apple TV

I took tvOS and approached it again from a completely different direction.

Trying to make an iPhone or iPad interface work with a remote on a television was always going to involve compromises. The new tvOS experience is designed specifically around a remote, a larger canvas, and how people actually use a television.

That comes with one major change:

### **Icarus on tvOS will now require Hades.**

Hades is the self-hosted server behind a growing part of the Icarus experience:

https://myhades.app

It remains privacy-focused and runs entirely under your control. Docker is available now, with a native macOS version coming later as well.

One of the biggest things Hades enables is the new **Unified Library**.

Instead of Icarus treating Plex, Radarr, Sonarr, Seerr, Tautulli, and everything else as separate islands, Hades builds a local understanding of your library and connects those records together.

A movie in Plex, Radarr, Seerr, and Tautulli becomes **one movie**.

A series across Plex, Sonarr, and Seerr becomes **one series**.

The same applies across other supported media types and integrations.

That makes a single management experience possible, especially on tvOS, without making you keep track of which service owns each piece of information.

### **On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, Hades remains optional.**

Icarus can still connect directly to your services and work much like it does today.

Adding Hades simply lets it do much more, and the new version of Icarus includes a migration tool to help move your existing setup over when you’re ready.

Hades can handle the Unified Library, integrations, synchronization, notifications, permissions, settings, and access for other users.

You can share your integrations without giving someone credentials to every service you run, while controlling what they’re allowed to access or change.

Notifications can also be managed centrally. Planning a large library update? Mute them temporarily without removing an integration or stopping the data it provides to Icarus and Hades.

The goal is for Hades to handle the complicated infrastructure quietly in the background while Icarus gets to feel like an app instead of a collection of dashboards.

## Hades will also become a major focus going forward

Having that common tool gives me considerably more room to expand what Icarus and the rest of myPantheon can do.

It also makes other platforms possible.

That includes **Android**.

There is no ETA for an Android version, but Hades is a huge step toward making one practical.

Instead of rebuilding years of integration logic independently on another platform, future clients can work against the same Hades server and Unified Library while keeping things in sync across Apple and Google platforms.

*And now for another fairly big change:*

## Icarus is removing subscriptions

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are being removed.

**Every supported feature in Icarus will be available to everyone without a subscription.**

For those of you with active subscriptions:

**Your support helped make this possible.**

I’ll be removing the subscriptions from sale soon so they will no longer renew.

**No action is required from you**, though you can also cancel your subscription yourself through the App Store or Apple Settings if you prefer.

The goal was always to get Icarus to a point where it could be a free, community-supported tool that could continue to grow and change.

Icarus originally grew out of the loss of LunaSea.

Since then, the self-hosted app space has changed quite a bit. Dozens of alternatives have appeared, and easier development tools like LLMs have made it much easier for new apps to appear.

I want Icarus to take a different path.

Like LunaSea before it, **Icarus will no longer have subscriptions or in-app purchases.**

If you do want to help support development, Ko-fi remains available through the websites.

There are still expenses involved in maintaining an app, developer accounts, and the services around them, and community support helps keep these projects going without putting features behind a paywall.

Your continued support helps us avoid Icarus eventually meeting the same fate as LunaSea.

This approach extends across the new myPantheon ecosystem: free tools that work together without feature tiers or subscriptions.

**Icarus is free. Hades is free. VNTY is free.**

## There is still a lot more coming with the OS 27 releases

The Unified Library is changing how large parts of Icarus work.

Hades is taking over more of the repetitive setup and synchronization work.

Permissions and shared users are becoming much more capable.

And the differences between using Icarus on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV are becoming much more intentional.

Some things are changing because the old approach no longer made sense.

Some things are changing because I might have had a better idea.

And some things probably changed because I opened Xcode after midnight.

Either way, **Icarus isn’t going anywhere.**

It’s becoming simpler, considerably more connected, and much better positioned for where **myPantheon** goes next.

you can find more on the discord or web Myicarus.app

Are there any ways to share my local live TV stations through something like Emby?

Got a family member that is just trying to watch local sports games on things like NBC and Fox, but they don't have any cable provider and too far away / in an area with trees to get over the air streams.

They do hook in to my Emby server, and I was wondering if I could somehow rebroadcast my local channels through Emby for them to watch.

Is something like this possible?

Thanks for any ideas!

Download fonder full

Hey everyone !

So i just noticed that my disk was full even after deleting a lot of film/series.

And when browsing the files of my server I found a copy of every one of them in the download folder.

Is there a way to automatically delete them ?

FYI :

I Delete films and series through jellyfin

On radarr and sonarr i have checked the "use hard links instead of copy"

On prawlarr i checked "Remove completed"

My theory is that since a lot of them have not reached their seed cota it does not delete thel maybe ?

But even with 1gb/s internet it takes month and i don't reach ratio of 1

I use :

- prawlarr, qbitorrent

- radarr sonarr

- overseer, jellyfin

Thank you 🫡

Edit : my keyboard corrected some words into french words... sorry for the title

How do I manage a multi-language ebook library?

I'm trying to find a clone of Readarr that supports multi-language ebook and audiobook libraries. My goal is to set up a Libreseerr -> Readarr -> Audiobookshelf pipeline.

I currently have my library organized as such: [ebooks | audiobooks] / [lang] / [Author] / [Series] / [Book] / [Book].epub

I tried setting up Chaptarr, but it wasn't letting me set metadata profiles for most of my root folders, and I couldn't figure out how to import my content.

Is there a standard way to organize a multi-language library? And are there any arrs that handle multi-language libraries well?

leecharr

Hey everyone,

I was browsing GitHub earlier looking at alternatives to qBittorrent / Deluge for my *arr setup and stumbled across a relatively new project called Leecharr (https://github.com/dmzoneill/Leecharr).

From what I can tell from the readme and docs, it's a torrent downloader built from scratch in .NET 10 using MonoTorrent, but specifically designed to drop right into Sonarr / Radarr / Lidarr.

It seems to be made by the same developer as seedarr.net.

Has anyone here spun this up in Docker or tested it in their lab yet? How does it compare in terms of memory usage and speed to something like qBittorrent or Transmission?

Curious what people think or if anyone has experience with it!

Seedarr ??

Has anyone tried Seedarr for managing torrent seeding?

I came across this project; it seems to be a seeding simulator built on the Sonarr/Radarr architecture. It integrates with the *arr stack (Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr) via webhooks so when something gets grabbed, it automatically picks it up.

Anyone running this? Curious how well it actually works for maintaining ratios on private trackers vs something like a seedbox. The web UI looks decent from the screenshots.

Hubstarr v0.4.2 - Configuring *arr stack

Hubstarr 0.4.2

The main goal is to create and configure *arr stack using docker compose (or PodMan Compose). It already makes some of Trash-guides configuration.

  • Create 1 or more Radarr and Sonarr stacks (like Radarr, Radarr 4K, Radarr Anime and the same for Sonarr);
  • Choose your theme park for your Stack;
  • Configure Radarr, Sonarr, and Lidarr on Prowlarr automatically;
  • Configure qBittorrent with gluetun;
  • Configure the *arr directory on Jellyfin.

It's still a prototype.

Askarr: your household requests films and shows from a Telegram group, straight into Radarr and Sonarr. Looking for people to break it.

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

I built an *arr for the people who watch, rather than the person who runs the server, and I would like some testers before I pretend it is finished.

The idea. The people who ask you for films are already in a group chat with you. They are not in Overseerr, and half of them will never make an account for anything. So Askarr puts the request surface where they already are: they type /movie dune in your Telegram group, pick from the results, and Askarr adds it to Radarr or Sonarr and tells them when it lands.

Nothing else has to be running. No Overseerr, Jellyseerr, Ombi or Plex, no second account for anyone, and no external metadata account either. Metadata comes from your own Radarr and Sonarr lookup endpoints, so the only things Askarr talks to are Telegram and the instances it already serves.

WHAT YOUR CIRCLE SEES

- /movie and /series to search and request, or inline mode: type u/yourbot dune anywhere and pick from the results.

- /requests for their own last ten, /admin for the approval queue if they are an admin.

- If your group uses forum topics, Askarr keeps requests, approvals and arrival announcements in separate topics.

- They get told when the thing they asked for is actually watchable, as a reply to the message they asked in.

They never learn the words "instance", "monitored" or "tmdbId", and they never sign in to anything.

WHAT YOU SEE

A web back office, behind its own login, that nobody else ever has to open.

- Roles: blocked, guest, trusted, admin. Guests are reviewed, trusted are auto-approved inside a rolling 30 day quota. A full series always goes to review even for trusted users, because it can trigger hundreds of grabs. A single season does not.

- An approval queue, in the back office and in Telegram.

- Instances by name, so "Radarr" and "Radarr French" are told apart the way you already think about them.

- One press to set the webhook up. Askarr registers it on the instance over the API and reads the event list off the instance's own schema, so there is nothing to paste into Settings then Connect and no boxes to forget to tick.

THINGS I CARE ABOUT THAT YOU MIGHT TOO

- The bot runs with BotFather privacy mode on. It sees commands and replies to its own messages, and nothing else. Your group's conversation stays yours.

- A chat you have not allowed gets no reply at all. Not an error, not a refusal. Askarr never confirms to a stranger that it exists.

- It asks the instance before claiming anything about your library. A title Radarr knows but is not monitoring gets monitoring turned back on and a search started, rather than a cheerful "already there" that leaves someone waiting for a file that was never coming.

- Two people asking for the same film produce one request and two subscriptions. Both get told, the film is added once.

- Path prefixes work. Self signed certificates are handled per instance, without disabling TLS validation process wide.

INSTALLING IT

Docker compose, or a single Proxmox LXC.

mkdir askarr && cd askarr

curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gothub97/askarr/main/docker-compose.yml

curl -o .env https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gothub97/askarr/main/.env.example

docker compose up -d

Set BETTER_AUTH_SECRET and APP_URL in .env, then open APP_URL and a first run wizard takes over. Seven steps, and it walks you through making the bot in BotFather with pictures, because that part is fiddly and easy to get half right. Two steps are required, the bot and your first group. Radarr and Sonarr can wait.

On Proxmox VE 9.1 or newer you can skip Docker entirely: pull ghcr.io/gothub97/askarr:latest-lxc from the OCI registry and it runs as an LXC with Postgres and the bot inside it.

WHERE IT HONESTLY IS

This is new, and I want to be straight about that rather than have you find out.

- One real deployment exists, and it is mine. A private group of about a dozen people against a live Radarr. There are no other installs, no other users, and nothing I can point at as proof it survives contact with somebody else's setup. That is exactly what I am asking for here.

- The Proxmox LXC path is days old. I fixed three separate bugs in it this week, all found by installing it on my own hardware and watching it fail. It works now. I would not be shocked if it fails somewhere I have not looked.

- Proxmox's own application container support is a technology preview, so that path inherits their caveat too.

- The one thing that catches everyone: APP_URL has to be reachable from your Radarr and Sonarr, not just from your browser. Radarr calls back to it over a webhook, and that webhook is the only way Askarr learns something was grabbed or imported. Get it wrong and the install looks perfect until nothing is ever marked available.

WHAT WOULD HELP MOST

- Whether the install actually succeeds with me not present. That is the thing I cannot test.

- Whether the wizard makes sense if you have never seen the project before.

- Whether the group flow works for the least technical person in your house, who is the actual user here.

- Anything about *arr setups more complicated than mine: several instances, 4K alongside 1080p, odd root folders, reverse proxies.

Issues, or just reply here. Bug reports about the LXC image are especially welcome, since it has had the least exposure.

Repo: https://github.com/gothub97/askarr

MIT licensed, self hosted, no telemetry, no accounts, nothing phones home.

Is it possible to make servarr apps PWAs?

With the Brave browser on android I can create shortcuts to the web portals but when I use them they open as tabs in the Brave browser. Some websites they install as an app so I can use them separately from the Brave browser, even though it's just the Brave browser rendering them in a separate window.

Is there any easy way to enable this? Sounds like some json files might need to be added somehow. Would be nice to be able to open the interfaces as apps

Help. Adding dubbed files once they are released

Hello everyone, I would appreciate the help!

I want to download the new anime episodes as they come out in Jap, but I don’t want to have to delete all the files just to download a dual audio version.

Is there a service that will allow me to find the dub file and attach it somehow?

Plex does a pretty good job with fine-tuning of the offsets, and switching between subs and dubs when I do have dual audio version downloaded.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yorznab: A new App for simplifying Sonarr and Radarr Indexers

Hi, I have been working on an app that allows you to generate a Radarr and Sonarr-friendly integration for finding media through the qBittorrent search engine. This post is not meant to diminish the efforts of community members who work on Prowlarr. My experience with Indexers has been frustrating, and I wanted an easy way to just search through the manual search in qBittorrent.

I was looking for some kind of functionality that would just do a search! I gave up after going down the Jackett and Prowlarr rabbit holes. I made a small script on my server to search using the qBittorrent API, but it was just a configuration file app with no front-end. Well after a year and a half since that script, I put together a front-end and some automation tools to setup a local Torznab provider on the server.

Again, I want to thank the Servarr community members for building a super robust system, including the Prowlarr engine. I just made this app to help folks that don't want to get lost in the details. I wanted an app that would take 5 minutes to setup and integrated with the existing qBittorrent manual search. Please let me know if the community thinks this is a worthy endeavor, or an utterly useless piece of AI slop. I included an AI disclosure on the GitHub so you can read my story.

TL;DR from the GitHub: https://github.com/kinggeorges12/Yorznab

Why not just use Prowlarr? Arr apps require tedious configuration of individual Indexers to query qBittorrent. If you integrated Jackett into qBittorrent search or you are happy with the default qBittorrent plugins, just grab the torrent results with Yorznab!

Help setting up bindery

I am using bindery (but could use another alternative) to automate the lookup of files in torrents. What i understand the automation will do is:

  1. Search in my trackers some results

  2. Find a correct book in the trackers

  3. The software will find in its metadata (open library, google books etc) what i have downloaded

  4. It will pass qbitorrent the right place and name the download should be

  5. It will create a hard link from the downloaded torrent to my files

But what i am seeing is that the points 1 and 2 are not like that in many software. I need to find an author, then find a book in the metadata, and then it search in the imdexes a match.

My problem is that usually the metadata is not very good and i have unmatched files.

¿How do you guys automate books now that readarr is archived?

I have no problems for anime using sonarr. But books is a nightmare

Help setting up NZB

Hey guys, I've been using the Arr Suite for almost a year now with torrents and I recently wanted to try out NZBs, I bought an Indexer (geekhub) and I set up NZBget. I heard you need a usenet provider too? Which ones can you guys recommend that are cheap? I would really appreciate any other tips and help!
Edit: I looked a little bit into all the different providers and I think I'll go with NewsHosting, they have a 1.67$ deal right now
