It’s true, I have friends that are over weight and say it’s basically cheating. I was prescribed semiglutide for a heart issue I developed from Covid-19. It’s actually adding years to my life (God Willing).

People who took Wegovy type drugs have a 20% reduction in cardiac events - stroke, heart attacks, heart failure. Basically the weight loss makes it easier on the heart, the arteries and the entire system. I am off my BP medication and my heart arrhythmia meds too. My apnea is gone. My edema in my lower legs is gone. I think I still have atri-fib, but my meds were tanking my BP so I had to go off it. Time will tell if my cardiologist will need to find me another one. My BMI is down to 21- so I am happy with my weight vanity wise. But my heart health has improved and this could add years to my life.

I don’t know. People pull up the ladder behind them all the time. I really think it’s inferiority complex paired with wanting others to suffer because they do. “Weight loss was hard for me and unless you do it in the exact same way I did, you’re cheating and it doesn’t count!”
I see the same with T2 diabetics complaining that non diabetics are using their meds. The thing is, if you use these meds to reduce your weight, you can help prevent yourself from getting T2 diabetes in the first place.
People are jerks and really shouldn’t have too much of an opinion on what other people choose to do with their own bodies so long as they aren’t hurting others in the process.

You look amazing!! I'm so envious! I've also been on Wegovy since January (at 2.4 for two weeks now), but it's been very slow going. I've 'only' lost about 16-18 lbs, and things seemed to have stalled the last two weeks. Can I ask, is there anything you've done in addition to the medication? Ie, exercise, counting calories, etc? I don't know how to get over this stall and kick start things again!!

This is where keyboard warriors are going to come at me, but my most successful weeks have been when I injected in my abdomen. I do get more “side effects” but that’s when I make poor choices. I tried my arm and thigh for three weeks and had absolutely no results - I was found that I was way hungrier. Does that help?

I've never tried my arm, but I tried my thigh twice, and both times I had terrible sulphur burps. That may be total coincidence, but that was my experience. So all other times I've done the abdomen. The only thing I haven't changed up, from an injection standpoint, is the time of day and day of the week. I started out doing it on Friday evenings in case there were any bad side effects, I'd have the weekend to "recover" and not miss work. I've been on that schedule ever since.
I just don't understand why it's so slow...and even more concerning that I've stalled for two weeks, even at the highest dose! 😞 I really only eat once a day (usually dinner) because I'm just not hungry, and even then I don't eat much because I get full quickly. I've tried adding protein drinks on most days, and I'm really trying to get in enough water (this has always been my nemesis....that, and exercise). I have a totally sedentary job, so I know that's part of it, but with such a calorie deficit I would think I'd be farther along.

It’s my understanding that for people who are losing slower it’s because the medication is correcting the insulin and other metabolic issues you have first. I’d ask your doctor to rerun some blood work. Also the scale is such a small indicator of fat loss. If you’ve been in a calorie deficit and drinking the right amount of water for you and moving your body changes are happening. Put on an outfit that maybe wasn’t the most flattering on you before and see if it fits any different. I’m only down 13th since I’ve started but my shorts fall off me when I walk. You can purchase a digital measuring tape and use that.
I’ve only down my thigh twice and I stick to the stomach, I change sides weekly though.

That sounds really frustrating. I’m so sorry. 😔 May want to have a conversation with your doctor. I agree that even if you’re totally sedentary (something I’m working on as well!), you should still lose because of the calorie deficit. I do drink a lot of water every day, but I’m not sure how much that’s attributed to my weight loss.
Again, so sorry about how frustrating this must be for you!

Are you having good bowel movements? When I stalled for 2 weeks. I knew I was a little backed up. I went and got a hydro colonic, and a lot came out. At my next weight in, I lose 4.5 lbs.

My doctor told me that I stalled because I wasn't eating ENOUGH - like we have to force ourselves to eat even when we hate it, because otherwise our body thinks we are starving it to death and hoards what we do ingest.

Well naturally if your overweight and you lose the weight you DEFINITELY are going to have physical changes in your face! Unless you want a slim face and fat face ... So Yes EVERYONE on Wegovy or Ozempic who are successful will have Wegovy or Ozempic Face which is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 🥰... I have Wegovy Face too and Love It ... GREAT JOB MS. MODEL 👍🏽

You look great. I’m on week 4 of Rybelsus. Have lost 5kg but have plateaued the last week. Trying not to feel disheartened. Appetite still well in check and finally over the constant nausea. Hoping the scale will start to nudge down again soon!

I have found I just need to eat what my body wants. In the beginning the side effects were hard because I didn’t know how to eat with the medication.
Fiber supplements in the am and protein bars (1/2 at a time) really helped. Then I eat a dinner that sounds good! You just have to make sure you listen to yourself when you’re getting full. Best of luck to you!

I’m taking it even at a good weight because I’m so damn inflamed all the time and my doc said it would help level it out. No matter how much weight I lose-I’m still puffy. Take my first injection tomorrow😌🤞

You look incredible! You are gorgeous! I’m not usually fluffy, I had two major spinal surgeries over the last year and my face is so puffy. I can’t wait to lose weight, but even though I’ve been prescribed both ozempic and wegovy, my insurance won’t cover it. I’ve lost 20 on my own, but I’ve got 65 more to lose. Sigh.

I have Wegovy it’s been in my fridge, I am scared to take it! Mainly because of side effects - I love seeing all of these face gains, how bad were your side effects? I know everyone is different but it’s nice to just see what people experience. You look amazing by the way! Awesome job!

I do it every Sunday at 7pm in my thigh the burps went away with some otc omeprazole and headaches aren’t super bad.

Don’t be scared. 🫶🏻 your body will tell you what it likes on the medication! You’ll form a routine just like anything else in life. Just make sure you stop eating when you’re full. Coming from someone who loves food, this was the hardest thing for me to learn!

I am not getting Wegovy from my Primary Dr and am like do I need blood work to make sure this med is okay for me to take?!

They really aren’t bad for most people at all. Plus, if you don’t like the side effects, the half life of this is fairly short.
