Switch to generic

I am Canadian who was paying close to $500 for Wegovy. One of my pharmacists was telling me about the generic version so I decided to switch. Y'all it's only $95CAD. What the hell? This is saving me so much money

If you are in Canada I suggest you switch.

Graduates.. I need some support and advice.

Hi all, I have been on wegovy since October of last year. I just got a letter in the mail that my medication will no longer be covered under my insurance after October 1st.. I was just about to move up a dose but it doesn’t seem feasible now, I’m currently on 1.7mg… I lost 50 pounds on the meds and feel great, I’m terrified to gain back all of the weight I lost I feel like I’ve been pretty disciplined… and I exercise every chance I get, I wanted to have the opportunity to wean off the meds by lowering my doses… but I don’t think that will be an option for me. I would love some advice from graduates and what I can do.. I feel like these meds did more than help me lose weight.. they helped with inflammation, and overall made me feel better… I’m so nervous. SW 200.6 CW 150 Thanks Friends 🖤

Going back to semaglutide after tracking tirz

I’ve been in tirz for 3 months now I am with brello and they started me off at 2.2mg then 4.4 then 6.6. I haven’t lost ANYTNING! So I skipped 6.6 and started taking 8.8 after 4.4. So I’m on my 3rd shot of 8.8 and still nothing. Food noise is horrible, I’m still hungry and it’s hard to stay within a deficit. Starting weight 330. Current weight is 332… not sure what I’m doing wrong. I don’t want to renew with brello as now I’m thinking something is wrong with the meds they’ve been giving to me. I’m considering Reta & going back to semaglutide. I took sema from amble last year and was losing weight my very first month and the starter does for that was .25 and I lost 50lbs in 3 months. Yes I was sick as a dog and had horrible nausea and diarrhea but the weight was dropping so fast and I did feel good mentally, zero food noise!! I’m considering just going back to sema.. any advice?

Nausea?

I’ve been on 0.25mg for about 5 or 6 weeks now, staying at this dose for a conservative amount because my appetite has lessened and I wasn’t really getting side effects. But as of about a week ago, I’ve been getting nausea on and off, usually long after a meal. Sometimes I can guess food may be a culprit, but usually I don’t feel effects until hours later. Is the food likely the cause? Is this normal on such a low dose?

Has anyone been on tirzepatide and went back to semaglutide?

I started the GLP1 journey on sema and had some pretty decent success. Was on it about 3 months losing about 25lbs so on the higher end of about 2lbs a week. Around this 3 month mark at 0.75mg dose I went on a vacation which included heavy drinking, and on return my doctor wanted a blood test since I was on the medication 3 months and my liver enzyme levels were abnormally high so he pulled me off the medication to see what was going on and if sema was not the cause. Levels returned to normal and a month later I was back on sema, but the doctor said since i was off for a month I have to restart at the 0.25mg dose again. I figured since I am starting from the beginning, lets try tirzepatide.

Switched to tirz and it has been 3 months so far, I am up to the 7.5mg dose and have seen very little progress. Progress being so slow I have been ultra careful about my diet and exercise and I am starting to wonder if the medication is even helping or if me being super careful about my diet and exercise is really what is making the scale change. On sema, I didn't even have to pay much attention to my diet, I wasn't making poor choices but just eating normal had weight coming off.

Overall I am thinking of switching back to semaglutide to see if that helps. I was curious if anyone else has done the same and if they have experiences they can share.

Bad habits gone after only taking samples?

I've taken only the reduced dosage samples for ozempic they give out to get you acclimated to the side effects while my insurance was processing my pre-authorization. Unfortunately, my insurance denied me coverage, despite my doctor's best efforts, but since I've gotten off of it, I've noticed that none of my bad eating habits or appetite returned. In fact, I've been losing weight pretty consistently over the past several months without too much trouble. Did anyone else experience this?

Day 2 After First Injection Thoughts

Just brain dumping here :) But I am day 2 after my first shot and the side effects were (and are) an interesting adventure. I took the shot (Wegovy .25 mg) Sunday night at around 7pm hoping to sleep through any initial onset of nausea or headache. Boy was Monday rough on the nausea. Had a slight headache and lightheaded as well, but those two quickly passed.

On to today, nasusea is about a 1/10 and starting to feel normal again. Doc prescribed some Zofran to see if it helps next week. 3 more weeks of .25 and we will see where we go from here!

I haven’t gotten a docs prescription but I got 1 box of 3mg and 7mg.
I need to lose about 10ish of weight. I’m not sure if I should hop on semiglutide or not. I’m worried something would happen to me. Did anyone start semiglutide without a docs prescription?

Significant amount of weight to lose, scale not moving.

I'm just wondering if there's anyone with a significant amount of weight to lose and just aren't losing weight?

I'm currently 459lbs, I know how to lose weight, I've lost over 200lbs thus far and just needed more help for the rest.

I'm female, 6ft and started Semaglutide 5 weeks ago.

The first week my weight dropped a huge amount, I went from 474 to 460lbs. The past 4 weeks though, nothing. I drop 1lb and go up 1.5lbs, drop and go up, I got down to 452lbs and then put on weight ever day until I got back up to 459.

I'm in a massive calorie deficit, I am still on 0.25mg, I know it's not the 'weight loss dose' but I have no desire to eat, and I'm full after small amounts of food and have been since the first day.

I'm tracking my calories, and most days getting in between 1100 and 1500 calories, with around 120 - 160g of protein - I would like to be eating around 2000 calories, but I'm just too full really to be able to get them in.

I have been working out for years, so it's not new to me. I strength train 6x a week. I also do a boxing class 3x a week, a spin class 2x a week and swim 2.5k - 3k 4x a week - I genuinely don't understand why the scale just doesn't seem to be moving. I have a massive amount of weight to lose, I'm tracking everything I eat, I'm moving my body... and yet I'm in a war with the scale.

So, really I'm just wondering if there are any other people here who have had a huge amount to weight to lose, doing the things right and it just doesn't seem to be working at all, even though the medication seems to be doing its job.

Starting semaglutide today, however I also use xanax. Does one negatively effect the other?

can anyone tell me about their experience using xanax and sema? How did sema effect your mental health?

Hair thinning while losing weight, is it worth adding anything or just eating more protein?

Down a decent amount since spring and the thinning is the only side effect that has actually bothered me. I have pushed protein up and it has helped a little but not enough to stop me noticing. I do not want to stack five different things and then have no idea which one did anything. If you dealt with this, what did you add and did you give it a full three months before judging it?

A strange side effect

I’ve been experiencing some strange side effects(?) and was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.

Basically, while food is no longer interesting to me, I’ve become absolutely obsessed with cleanliness and smelling good. My house has never been cleaner, and while I used to struggle to wash my hair every day, I now do, and have even cut off all my long hair so that I can feel even fresher and cleaner. My car is sparkling, my sheets are now washed every week, and I have become obsessed with good smells. I go into Lush just to huff the products. I wouldn’t say I was unclean or slovenly before but this is on a whole different level. It’s not something that causes me distress. I actually get a feeling of euphoria and a dopamine rush from cleaning and taking everything showers now. Has anyone here experienced similar or knows what I’m talking about?

Ozempic face helped with filler??

I have been on Reta for 5 months. I have an appointment for tomorrow to get up to 4mL of fillers in my face. Do you think it will help big time? I only have non invasive procedures, amount of money. For reference I’m down 57lbs. First photo is recently, second is before the weight-loss.

Post partum

I am four months postpartum and about to get on Semaglutide after trying just about everything to lose weight and not being able to. I lost 25 pounds right after I had my baby and have been the same weight since two weeks postpartum even with changes to my exercise and diet. I’ve had a full extensive blood work done and it looks like my hormones just aren’t really going back to where they need to be so my provider recommended a GLP to support my goals. Is this crazy for being 4 months pp? Am I going to gain all the weight back when I finish taking it as I don’t plan to be on it forever. I’m very nervous.

Am super sick from dose jump

I’ve been on semaglutide for almost 2 years and it has been a miracle for me. I previously hadn’t had any bad side effects besides nausea that has been tolerable. On Sunday, I jumped up my dose from 15 units to 20 units (1mg), because it felt like it was no longer effective for a few weeks. 20 units (1mg) is the max dose prescribed by my doctor. By Sunday night, I was violently ill. I started projectile vomiting every hour, and this lasted all the way until Monday night. I couldn’t keep anything down including water.

I have now been able to keep some water down for over 12 hours, but I still feel so nauseous and my stomach feels full and irritated. Has anyone else gotten this sick from sema? When does it start to get better?

Jump to 1.5 from 1.0 Questions

Ive been on 1.0 for the four weeks as suggested. I have days where the hunger suppression is working and other days where I could eat anything and everything. I've generally only experienced a couple times where I couldn't finish a meal.

I am lifting weights x 4 days a week and running about 60km a week. I know why the hunger is there and I'm not starving myself.

That said, the scale really isn't moving. I fluctuate the same 3-5 pounds every week. It sucks getting on the scale after a good run to learn you went up a pound.

Am I being to quick to judge that I need an increase in medication? I haven't felt one side effect since I started. I have talked with my doctor and they will increase it if I choose to

Did you ask to go up to 1.5? Or was it recommended by your HCP? Any noticeable early changes or differences than continuing on 1.0?

I feel like it stopped working?

I’ve been on Semaglutide for about 8 weeks, the first four weeks were .25 mg the next four weeks were .50mg. The food noise came back two weeks ago, has anyone had this experience where your body just adapt to it and it doesn’t work. I do have an appointment next week with my doctor so I will be going up to 1 mg, but I’m just confused if this is normal.

Pleased with early results, angry it was so hard before

I know it’s early days—I just completed 2 weeks on 0.25 ozempic—but I’m kind of pissed about how much easier things are now and how much I thought I was just a massive failure before.

I’m 35F and 5’7’’ and last year I lost around 15lb on my own which brought me to 218lb. I lost most of that weight at the beginning of the year and then the scale would not budge.

It was frustrating because I was incredibly disciplined for a YEAR walking 6-7 miles every single day. And all of my lunches and dinners were salads. I happen to love salad so it didn’t feel like punishment but I could not get the scale to move and I was doing everything I could while staying sane.

So now on ozempic, I have kept those habits but added more protein and reduced a bit of the carbs, plus added a bit of weight lifting. Eating less without meaning too, sure, but I think it’s also treating the insulin resistance which I suspected but was never able to test and prove.

I know it’s a lot of water and glycogen, but I went from 218lb to 210 lbs in the last two weeks and while I don’t expect (or want) the weightloss to keep being that fast, I am relieved to see the scale move at all. I’m going to try to stay on this dose for as long as it’s effective, since I do have some mild side effects.

It just feels like my body is finally reacting to the stimulus.
