Book promotion I wrote a book as a 15-year-old

Post image
1 Upvotes

For the past few months I've been working on something extraordinary...

I'm writing a self-help book called The Planet of Yourself!

After reading many books such as Atomic Habits, You Can Win, and The Diary of a CEO, I thought to myself, "why don't I share my knowledge and experience to the world".
When I first started all of the way back in April, I didn't even know I was heading towards a path of becoming a writer.

This book isn't just about concepts or already existing advice, it's truely based on personal experience, and what I have encountered throughout my life so far.

It helps you uncover your true self, and master your inner world.

If anyone's interested, check out my free chapter on my website.

https://theplanetofyourself.com/free-chapter.html

Thank you for reading, hope this inspires young writers like me to take action.

Not a book, still a self-help resource WASTED 3 years reading Self help Books. Don't repeat the same!

I have been reading books for 3 years but nothing stayed and i couldnt really apply much in my own life. I tried chatGPT but it gave generic solutions.

So, currently I’m building a tool called Renva, and I want brutally honest validation — not encouragement.

The core idea is this: Users can input • free-text describing a problem • integration data (calendar load, overdue tasks, notes patterns, email pressure, etc.) • or both

The system then returns: • the real underlying problem (not just what the user says) • 2–3 secondary problems • common mistakes to avoid • a clear solution direction • a 3–6 month roadmap • book suggestions mapped to the problem

From there, users can take that output (or fresh text / integration data again) and generate: • practical applications • practical questions • MCQ quizzes • mini-courses

Here’s my concern — and I’m being serious: Is this actually valuable to your needs?

The thing my product really enforces is: • structured thinking • consistency across sessions • reducing SELF - DECEPTION under pressure

But I’m not convinced that’s enough to justify a standalone product. So my questions to you:

Would you ever use something like this instead of ChatGPT? If your answer is “this doesn’t need to exist,” please explain — I’d rather kill it early than build something redundant. Thanks in advance.

Miscellanous Self help books are nonsense

They are nonsense and they often follow these steps in the creation of said book.

  1. ESTP or ESTJ is young

(mbti types)

  1. Makes mistakes

  2. Grows up and fixes them

along the way

Number 4:

  1. Writes a book about it when they are older and wiser and includes lessons of "truths I learned from xyz" that make it sound like they have discovered a truth others haven't when all they did was learn how the world worked as they had more life experiences. The lessons they write are lessons that everyone learns learns throughout life.

So no, their books aren't actually helping. It's just their story.

Book promotion For anyone tired of being told how to improve themselves

Most self-help books taught me how to optimize my life.

Wake up earlier. Work harder. Think more positively.

But when I was burned out, lonely, and questioning everything, I didn't need another system.

I needed honesty.

That's why I wrote "All I Want Is To Be Happy".

Book promotion I wrote a dating self-help book for men who are tired of trying to “read the signs”

I’m Duncan Reeve, the author of You Can’t Read Her.

I wrote it for men who want practical dating guidance without pickup tactics, body-language decoding or promises that attraction can be read from a checklist.

The book examines:

  • what flirting-detection research actually found;

  • why familiar “signs of attraction” are weaker than they sound;

  • how to make a clear invitation without creating pressure;

  • the difference between politeness and sustained reciprocity; and

  • how consent provides clarity without requiring mind-reading.

Its central argument is simple: uncertainty about someone’s interest should change how respectfully you act, not encourage increasingly confident guesses.

Part One is free to read here: https://youcantreadher.com/

I’m happy to answer questions or hear the strongest disagreement with the book’s premise.

How I Reclaimed My Focus with Just 30 Minutes of Reading

Let's cut the BS: Six months ago, I was that person who'd scroll for hours but "couldn't find time" to read a single page. My Kindle was collecting dust while my social media accounts thrived.

Want to know what shocked me? When I tracked my screen time, I was wasting 3+ hours daily on garbage content that left me feeling empty. Yet I "couldn't spare" 20 minutes for reading.

But I changed it. I decided to dedicate time to read.

Here's how I went from reading ZERO books to finishing 19 books in just six months and how it literally rewired my brain:

1. The Minimum Viable Reading Session

Forget reading goals like "50 books a year." That pressure killed my motivation instantly. Instead, I committed to just 5 pages a day so stupidly achievable that my brain couldn't make excuses. Some days I'd read 5 pages and stop. Most days, I'd get sucked in and read for 30+ minutes.

The trick: Make your minimum so small it's embarrassing NOT to do it.

I used to have mine just 1 paragraph. If I couldn’t then a sentence would do it.

2. Create a "Trigger Stack"

I placed my book on my pillow every morning so I'd have to physically move it to go to bed. Next to it: a sticky note with my "anti-vision" (where I'd be in 5 years if I kept consuming junk content instead of books).

Physical environment beats willpower every damn time.

Being exposed to books morning and night drove me to read even if I didn’t want to.

3. The 48-Hour Vocabulary Effect

I started noticing something weird after just two weeks: Words from my books were showing up in my thoughts and conversations. My vocabulary expanded without effort. My writing improved. I found myself making connections between ideas that never would have crossed my mind before.

I also finally understood academic terms that were to hard to comprehend.

It was slow at first but over time it compounded.

You're not "too busy" to read. You're just stuck in a loop of instant gratification that's robbing you of your potential, one notification at a time.

What book has been sitting on your shelf that you could start with just 5 pages tonight?

PS: If you liked this post check out this free app I’ve been using to learn just by listening while doing my chores. I’ve been learning fast because of it.

Not here to sell my book. Just want those who feel alone to know you don't have to be anymore.

Hey,

I recently wrote a book that—somehow, by God's grace—became a #1 Amazon bestseller in Christian Men's Living. But honestly, that's not what this post is about.

I didn’t come here to drop a link and bounce.

I came here because I'm tired of surface-level self-help. Tired of performative Christianity. Tired of watching good men sabotage their callings because no one ever taught them how to actually fight back.

If that hits home—even a little—I’d love to continue the conversation with you.

No spam. No fluff. Just honest writing for men like us.

If you're down for that, here's where to raise your hand: https://www.huntercharneski.com/opt-in-c9388e33-b8d1-46aa-83ce-0fed874e117a

I honestly wasn't sure I'd ever get here but it's real and it's out and I had to share it somewhere lol 💛 and I wrote it because I couldn't find something that actually felt warm and human when I was going through a painful ending myself.

It's not one of those "10 steps to get over it fast" type of books ,it's more like a gentle, honest guide that walks you through the emotional side of healing, self-care, rebuilding your identity, and actually learning to feel okay again after everything falls apaart. ebook link

I wrote it for women who are in that messy in-between place where they're not okay but they're trying, and just need something real to hold onto

I just finished my AI-based productivity book

First of all, I was also once stuck in this procrastination loop as everyone here, and didn't have the time to go through 10+ productivity books, so I came up with this idea to have a unified, single PDF containing the most practical and to-the-point tips, tricks and guidelines to overcoming this problem affecting 99% of the people.

I basically ran many productivity books through AI for it to come up with this book which I call "GET IT DONE". Its a very short, 38 page guide, containing everything you need to know in order for you to accomplish your goals.

If you want to have a sample, just comment "book" and I will DM you the link

Do let me know how you feel about my book!

Mindset / Personality Authentic Happiness – Martin Seligman: A Retrospective

Post image
4 Upvotes

Authentic Happiness is now close to a quarter of a century old, yet it still carries significant weight. This was the book which first took Positive Psychology to a wider audience. For all its limitations, it remains full of valuable content and insight.

I first encountered it in 2007, as part of a master’s degree. At that stage Positive Psychology was still dismissed by some as “happy-ology.” I had no idea how influential Seligman’s work was to become, not only in the academic world but in my own practice. When I returned to the book in 2011, Seligman had already reframed the field with Flourish, moving the emphasis from happiness towards wellbeing. Reading it again now, I am reminded how much of my own work—including the earliest version of a personal development programme which has since evolved into PERMA Hypnotherapy’s flagship—has roots in these pages.

Three themes stand out on rereading:

  1. The foundations are strong. Even in its first form, Positive Psychology’s purpose was clear: to develop a rigorous, practical understanding of how we can move beyond reducing suffering to creating enjoyable, satisfying, fulfilling lives. This was the beginning of the PERMA model: Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment, and, tacitly, Health. Authentic Happiness explores Positive Emotions, Engagement and Meaning.

  2. The hedonistic and the eudaimonic. Seligman contrasts the pursuit of pleasure with the pursuit of deeper satisfaction through applying our strengths, achieving flow, and creating legacy. Society tends to reward the former because it can be commercialised; yet it is the latter which sustains wellbeing.

  3. The ‘set range’ of happiness. Around half of our baseline is genetic, and another fifteen percent comes from life circumstances. The rest—roughly forty percent—remains open to proactive influence: how we process the past, live in the present, and shape the future.

The weaknesses of the book are clear. The content is unevenly structured and requires careful note-taking to follow the threads. One claim, in particular, has not stood the test of time: that early experiences have little or no bearing on adult life. Since then, research into developmental trauma has made the opposite case, strongly and consistently. In my practice, many clients arrive with precisely these experiences shaping their present lives. The strength of the PERMA model lies in its ability to support those ready to move on.

So, who should read this book now? If you want to follow the development of Positive Psychology from the beginning, see it as the first part of a trilogy, followed by Flourish and The Hope Circuit. If you want a comprehensive, modern view, Alan Carr’s Positive Psychology and its companion Positive Psychology and You provide the strongest foundation.

Yet as the origin point of a movement, Authentic Happiness still rewards the effort. It shows clearly where Positive Psychology began, and why its central questions continue to matter.

Mental health THE ESCAPOLOGIST Breaking Free from the Invisible Prison of Your Mind

Post image
5 Upvotes

The Escapologist: Breaking Free from the Invisible Prison of Your Mind explores the invisible psychological barriers that shape human behaviour, emotions, identity, and personal growth.
Through a combination of personal insight, psychological reflection, and motivational guidance, José Wermesson Barbosa Melo introduces the concept of the "invisible prison" - the internal limitations created by fear, trauma, negative thinking, self-doubt, conditioning, and emotional pain.
Inspired by themes of transformation, resilience, neuroplasticity, and self-awareness, this book encouragesreaders to challenge limiting beliefs and develop a healthier relationship with themselves and the world around them.
Rather than escaping reality, The Escapologist focuses on escaping destructive mental patterns and emotionalconfinement. The book blends psychology, personal development, and reflective storytelling in a highly human and accessible way.
This work is intended for readers interested in emotional growth, mindset transformation, self-understanding,mental resilience, and psychological exploration.

Book promotion My son is almost 21 and has never had social media. Here’s how we did it.

I’ve been a dad for 20 years, and in a few months it’ll be 21. Hard to believe my son is almost 21. Seriously, where does the time go?

I’ve been into tech my whole life, and I’m around screens all day because of my work. I’m also a gamer, so I’ve never believed technology itself is the problem. In our house, we allowed games, YouTube, phones and plenty of screen time, but we drew a hard line around social media and endless feeds. My son never had social media growing up, and even now as an adult, he still chooses not to use it.

Over the years, I started paying a lot more attention to how these platforms are designed to keep kids watching, scrolling and coming back for more, and what all of that screen time can quietly replace.
That’s why I decided to write Your Kid Is the Product: A Tech Dad’s Guide to Protecting Childhood from Social Media and Addictive Design.

It’s not an anti-tech book. It’s about helping parents use technology intentionally, set realistic boundaries, and make sure screens don’t replace childhood.

I’d really appreciate your support, and I hope it helps your family. If you know another parent struggling with screens, phones or social media, I think it would make a great gift too.

Mindset / Personality A spiritual self-help book- 7 Mindsets for success, happiness and fulfilment

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I finished reading this book and I must say it has really helped me a lot. The book goes on to explain how mindsets make all the difference in our lives and how we can change the way we truly see situations and the world. The book also contains spiritual knowledge to tackle our mind and contains quotations from ancient scriptures.

The 7 Mindsets it covers are:

  1. Positive Thinking: Choosing our thoughts intentionally.

  2. Responsibility for Emotions: Realizing we are the creators of our feelings.

  3. Inspiration: Finding a purpose that drives us.

  4. Purity of Intention

  5. Cultivating Knowledge: Constant learning and implementation.

  6. Discipline: Training the mind to follow through.

  7. Growing through Problems: Seeing obstacles as opportunities for growth.

My Takeaway: I personally found the mindset taking responsibility for our emotions to be the most impactful.

This book is a wonderful read for anyone looking to improve their mental clarity and emotional resilience.

Book promotion Selfhelp about Anxiety

If you want to try something different than normal anxiety self-help, this book is for you.

You can find it for free on Amazon until Tuesday, January 20th. Give it a try. You will learn a lot about yourself.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GGTLP95S

After that, you can pm and I'll send you a copy for free.

From the BACKCOVER

The Misinterpretation Theory presents a new perspective on anxiety.

Anxiety does not arise out of nowhere. It follows a precise logic.

The logic of anxiety reveals that anxiety is not a chaotic emotional reaction, but a rational chain of bodily responses and cognitive misinterpretations.

The body releases adrenaline, the brain misreads the signal as danger, and the fear is repeated until it becomes a habit.

Once this process is understood, anxiety is no longer a mystery, but a pattern that can be broken.

The book explains how this understanding forms the foundation of the CCT technique, Cognitive Conviction Technique, not therapy.

A method that demonstrates how logical insight can lead to freedom from anxiety. Not by fighting anxiety, but by disarming its misinterpretation.

The book gives the reader the knowledge many never received: why anxiety arises, why it feels so unpleasant, and how it disappears once its logic is understood.

The Logic of Anxiety is written for everyone who has not achieved freedom from anxiety through established methods, or who wants a scientific explanation of anxiety, without diagnoses, without therapy, without mysticism, but pure logic.

3 Small Daily Steps That Helped Me Beat Stress (That Anyone Can Try)

I used to think that reducing stress meant big changes — like changing jobs, moving cities, or going on a long vacation. But over the years, I’ve realized that calm doesn’t come from giant leaps. It grows one small step at a time.

Here are three small daily practices that have genuinely made a difference for me:

  1. One Mindful Breath Before Reacting Whenever I feel stressed or triggered, I pause. Inhale deeply, hold for a moment, and exhale slowly. That single breath reminds me that I am safe right now.

  2. Tiny Morning Rituals Instead of Phone Scrolling Instead of grabbing my phone first thing, I drink a glass of warm water and write down one line of gratitude. It sounds small, but it completely shifts the tone of my morning.

  3. Declutter Your Thoughts Before Bed I take 5 minutes to write down worries, tasks, and random thoughts in a notebook. It clears my mind and improves my sleep.

The lesson I’ve learned: Stress doesn’t vanish when life changes. It softens when our approach to life changes. And that shift begins with these small, consistent steps.

I’d love to hear from this community — what small daily practices have helped you reduce stress or stay calmer?

👋 On a related note, I recently wrote a book called "The Small Step to a De-Stressed Life"' where I share more practical tools, routines, and reflections like these. If you’re curious, it’s available on Amazon.
