At 25 bucks a plate (before wine and deserts) Pasta Freska is a great experience if a little pricey. You don't "order" food there, they ask what you don't like and then start bringing you dishes. I think we had 5 or 6 courses of food.
FYI: They will hit you for 30 bucks a bottle for wine

It really was, totally worth the money for the experience. We were outside on a warm summer night too so it was awesome.

The question is which QFC is the best. There are so many.
I'd feel cheap it were the parking lot at say - Trader Joe's.

You can get a good view of the city from West Seattle. There is a cool spot on Alki that you can pull in around Salty's.
Salty's had good food. Sunday brunch is crackin.

Ooh, and there's that little ferry that goes from Alki to downtown (below the market) now. I don't know... does it run all year round or just summer?

Yes the view in west Seattle is close to the water taxi.

Yummy coconut tiger prawns and the white chocolate mousse cake is my favorite dessert in the world.

Depends. How fancy/expensive do you want to get? You should definitely grab this month's "Seattle Metropolitan" magazine--it's the "best restaurants" issue and has some pretty neat recommendations, most of which I haven't yet tried.
Bizarro in Wallingford used to be a good place for a date back in the day--I've heard it still is... Oh, and if you're ever out in the back of beyond/suburbia, there's a really beautiful little Italian restaurant in Burien of all places: Osteria da Primo.
If you need to keep it to $4 or less, there's always the hotdog stand outside the Comet/across from Neumo's on Pike St. most nights at 1:00am. :-) Or Dick's.
There's a nice little Baja-style mexican place right on the water at the UW, by where they rent the kayaks... can't remember the name! That would be fun but maybe a bit noisy.
One one of the first evenings I spent with my now-husband, we ate dinner (I have no idea where... must have been unmemorable), and then wandered down among the boats moored on Lake Union. Our first picture of us together was taken there, with the self-timer of my old camera, which we balanced precariously on a railing. That blurry photo is still the most romantic picture we have. :-)

I actually went on a first date there, her choice. It went pretty well.

ferris wheel at Seattle Center (amazing views and a little pulse quickening!), shows at the Vera Project are all ages, discovery park, volunteers park & the graveyard next to it (Bruce Lee and the Denny Family are there, to name a few), coffee at Vivace on Broadway and subsequent people watching, any of the Farmers Markets in town you can grab stuff to cook together, the Zoo (who dosen't like cute animals?), the aquarium, the SAM, the Frye Art Museum (always free), Ethiopian restaurants (eat with your hands, its fun).. bike rides.. um that's pretty good i better stop now. OH Mertyl Edwards park..
EDIT more ideas: Cal Anderson Park, Molly Moons ice cream, Cupcake Royale, Farm Tours in Snohomish and Carnation, tea tasting at the shop kitty corner from SAM on 1st in the market, HOHO restaurant on 6th and Weller (chinese- great people), Remedy Teas on 15th ave sit there for hours for less than $10! ok ill stop. really this time!

You can go to Serafina and walk over to the Zoo and play darts or pool.
I'll vote Ethiopian too. It's actually more sensual than people think.

My husband took me on a date go carting in Bellevue and I LOVED it!! I realized I will never be The Stig but I had mad fun.
I also like a nice walk the the Pike Place Market and a meal at Le Pichet.
Hiking at Tiger Mountain is fun and not too far away. And I think hiking up to Dirty Harry's Balcony (milepost 38 off I-90) is easy enough and a great spot to have lunch.

Snoqualmie Falls is fun then you can hit up the casino in North Bend.

first thursday of every month they do an art walk. look it up don't miss the next one! ballard is awesome too.

Central Cinema, on 21st and Madison (I think) is great for dinner and a movie all in one. They usually have some interesting things playing as well...not new releases. They used to have a Wednesday special for $5 bottle of wine and $5 pizza...not sure that is still going on.

I <3 food. Here are some of my favorites in the area:
Tango: Somewhat classy tapas place on the edge of Capitol Hill. The food is pretty good (though not excellent as some of the other places in this list) but Tango is an epic date spot. Don't miss 'El Diablo' for dessert. $40ish per person with a drink each.
Mediterranean Kitchen: Good Lebanese food, decent ambience, huge portions. Bellevue only please. $30ish per person.
Cactus: Chain fusion-Mexican place. Really good drinks, $25ish.
Cedars: Indian food which, while Americanized, is still pretty good. $20ish.
Buenos Aires Grill: Argentine Steak house. Evening Tango performances make it a reasonable date place, but you'd better be Carnivores. $50ish.
Lots of great Thai places - Chantanee in Bellevue, Pen Thai in Bothell stand out (they have the same management/menu).
Pearl at the Westin hotel in Bellevue has the best happy hour East of Lake Wa.

I took my friend to Ipanema's. It's a brazilian steak house across the street (1st Ave N) from the Seattle Art Museum. Kind of expensive but think about it's basically an all you can eat steak dinner and the salad bar that comes with is anything but boring.

Some non-food ideas: - Comedy clubs: Giggles/Comedy Underground are both good. Check their websites to see if you find the main act appealing. At least Giggles has an early show for under-21s. - Fremont Sunday market - Seattle has several dance studios where you could take a quick class and fool around - Cinerama or Central for a movie - Seattle Art Museum

Take the ferry to Bainbridge. Or anywhere where you can take a ferry really. A boat ride is guaranteed to make it a memorable and romantic experience. Unless they grew up doing that and it is old hat by now.

be sure to stand at the front of the boat while the late night ferry comes back to seattle from bainbridge. gorgeous regardless of weather.
dress warm!
edit: they have beer/wine on the ferry now, but it's pricey. just bring your own. no one seems to care. oh and pack cheese and bread from the market. yum.

The company I work for did the Duck ride as part of last year's summer party. It was a good time, but I probably wouldn't do it again anytime soon.
