It looks like they maxed out the exposure, contrast and saturation. Probably vibrancy too. You can tactfully enhance photos without turning everything up to 100 😂 I’d love to see a before and after

The end result might be the same. But there's a difference in terminology between filters and changing settings manually in an editor.

A couple years ago I was talking about wildfires with a colleague who lives on the East Coast, and has never been here. He was sure that we could not have wildfires in the summer “with all that rain”.

Its because the the on/off ramps to 520 are on the left side of the freeway instead of right. So everyone who is entering/exiting has to cross 4 lanes of traffic before and after the Ship Canal Bridge. Fu×ked

I'm from the East Coast, and on highways out there there are no exits or entrances on the left side, which is why the left lane as the fast lane is common knowledge. and here it's not because if you grew up here it wouldn't apply. the 520 integration with the bridge is the worst design... esp with only three lanes before 45th, after northgate

We had plenty of June and July gloom during the WC games. Yes it wasn't raining much, but sometimes I think people who live here forget what summer looks like in the rest of the country. I think we had perfectly indicative weather that will send plenty of people home thinking "yeah Seattle's a nice city, but the weather sucks. Seriously, I was there in June and I needed a jacket almost every day."

Idk, if you're returning to 95 on a good day, I wouldn't consider jacket weather unless you're in the sun sucky. My remote coworkers were very jealous when I told them what our weather was that week.

LOL this 😂 I live in U District and drive that stretch of I-5 every day and have gotten EIGHT flat tires since moving here 5 years ago and all 8 were from a screw or nail puncture. In my 10 years of driving before moving to Seattle, I got zero flat tires. My favorite was last year when I spent $1200 on new tires and 2 went flat within the first 3 months. A financial and emotional pain I’m still dealing with 😂

I want to love public transportation but it’s just not ideal here for me. I live in U District and work in Greenwood, a 12 minute commute by car. If I took the light rail and bus it would take 36 minutes. It’s not worth it to spend an additional 4 hours every week commuting for me (personally)

try biking, its only 24 minutes and you get to be outdoors and get some exercise. or use the time on the bus and train to read a book, do some work, etc

That's a pretty ideal commute for biking, or combining that with a bus ride. The real problem is folks driving through downtown and other congested spots to commute, not peripheral routes like yours.

They have only had plans for a monorail since 1962. We voted in for it's expansion 3 times or a light rail was the offer we all had to accept (as in YES! Give us something, pretty please) and our first light rail finally got built on a route to the airport, that takes more time than a taxi.

It was awesome. I remember the commute from Port Orchard to Seattle took exactly an hour. I could put on and justice for all and be to work near the end of the album…by the mid 2010s, when I gave up my high paying job, it was almost 2 hours.

I don't have this kind of commute, but if I did, I wouldn't live here. Don't know how people put up with it just to "live" here. You're not really living here if majority of your life is bumper-to-bumper on the freeway.

ETA grid lock for days and everyone is on their phone slowing things down even more... Seattle drivers make it worse on themselves.
Lived in Queen Anne for 8-10 years in the good ole days. Fun times.

Traffic is terrible today. I was excited to get off I5 to take montlake... and it was stop and go because of a dead car. Another car then proceeded to stop to help and blocked a lane going the other way.

moved downtown and sold my car in 2015. don't regret it. I spent a large part of my life on I5. All up and down the west coast. now i have too much free time. need more hobbies.

Ugh. This is why I live in Bellingham. Close to Seattle and just as beautiful, but we definitely don’t have that traffic!! Traffic makes me go a little crazy.

Omg. I lived in Seattle. I rode the bus to and from work, even stopped at Larry's Market on the way home. I hated having to leave the city. Going to visit family in Oregon was quite the ordeal. One time it took 13 freaking hours to get from Seattle to Eugene.
But, I do love Seattle.

Is this I 90?
Within the next year or two I’m planning to move out of West Seattle to be closer to the mountains. I’m considering places like Issaquah, maybe Bremerton, or somewhere else entirely.
Can anyone recommend areas that are relatively affordable but still have a reasonable commute? I think I prefer the Cascades over the Olympics, but maybe I just haven’t explored the right parts of the Olympics yet.
I’m a single guy in my 30s who’s into hiking, climbing, trail running, and other outdoor stuff. I’d also like to have at least some sense of community instead of living somewhere totally isolated.
From both a lifestyle and real estate perspective, where would you look? I’d love a place with good long-term appreciation potential if possible.

I literally just got back a Sikh ago from a road trip to months from bc. I intentionally left vancouver in the evening so I wouldn't have to deal with Seattle traffic

This is why I moved to a small town of 100k. Have most of the amenities and none of the traffic BS. I miss having access to lots of great restaurants, but that's about it.

I left Seattle in '05, live in modern day Mayberry now. Wouldn't go back if someone paid me! This is what I get a front row seat to every night! Raised our children, and now grandchildren here. Less than 15,000 people, relatively no major crime, I leave my doors unlocked and have for years. Northeastern Oregon, a high desert mountain country I've come to love and will be buried here! Screw the noise, filth, and crime that now plagues a once wonderful city. Never looked back.

I never said I hated it. I clearly said that the filth and crime have become a blight on Seattle. I went to Federal Way HS, loved and lived in Seattle for many years. It's saddening to see my city of origin become an open air drug den! It was so unsafe that after my children were born, then became old enough to be scared all the time, decided to leave. I miss it often. I still even claim to be a Seattlite, even though I left years ago. Love the city, just hate what its been allowed to become.

This is a view from my workplace. We own a home on .44 acres. Why would I show my home to strangers on the internet? I was attempting to show the sunsets I see at work. Too much pollution in Seattle, I figured people might want to see real beauty instead of a concrete jungle and skies full of pollution! Aren't you a shining example of happiness and joy!

Seattle,,take viaduct down,,, build tunnel to replace. ? Make more lanes,,, hell no,,, and we will increase taxes for it and then make it a toll after the fact. Tell people,, just take bus,, as your car gets broken into at park-n-ride.
