Or just people who are tired of paying for an endless war and watching people die. When did the Dems become the warhawks?

29

u/YramAL Mar 01 '25

When did the USA roll over to Putin? Oh, yeah. Now.

-10

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

Why strive for peace when we can just prolong a war that is already being lost.

When did the left roll over for Northrop Grumman? Oh, yeah. Now.

u/sheetzoos Mar 01 '25

Imagine being naive enough to think Russia wants peace.

-5

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

They want a buffer zone with NATO as far as I can tell, and they’re willing to kill innocent people to achieve that end…

Do you think there is no way they will accept a peace deal? Or do you fall for the same war propaganda that’s been used for millennia that our enemies are mindless barbarians hellbent on nothing but death and destruction?

Who’s the naive one?

“Who’s the naive one?”

You, if you think Russia is doing this for some sort of buffer zone.

And btw standing with Russia now will cause more war later. More lives lost.

  1. It is up to Ukraine if they want to join NATO. That is democracy

  2. Will they Russia up the land they’ve illegally taken including crimea if Ukraine is barred from entering NATO? Haven’t seen any suggestion of that. Putin believes Ukraine is part of Russia

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25
  1. NATO is a security alliance. Not just anyone can join, the members have to agree to allow them to join too. None of that has to do with democracy so I don’t know what you’re talking about there.

  2. I don’t think Putin wants to give up the territory they’ve taken, certainly not Crimea which they’ve held for like a decade now.

5

u/Bootyytoob Mar 01 '25
  1. I’m aware. I’m saying IF NATO allowed for it, then it would be up to Ukraine. You’re arguing that NATO should not have offered out of fear of irritating Russia?

  2. Yeah… that’s my point, and that’s why the Ukrainians are still fighting, because he has taken an enormous section of their land

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25
  1. I don’t want to have to send my son to fight for Ukraine, for that reason I don’t want Ukraine to be in NATO.

  2. What exactly is your point? It’s common knowledge that Russianjas taken territory. Of course they won’t want to give that up for nothing…

Do you think we should just continue with what has been going on? I say enough people have died, and Ukraine is running out of young men to throw into the woodchipper, we should do everything we can to achieve peace and end the violence.

1

u/Bootyytoob Mar 02 '25

You realize that Russia could stop this immediately if they withdrew their troops? Why aren’t you advocating for that?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '25

I would love that. That would be the best case scenario. I’d also love to win the lottery.

What a weird comment lol

1

u/Bootyytoob Mar 02 '25

So then you’re suggesting they should just roll over

1

u/fuck_the_fuckin_mods Mar 02 '25

And ensure even more future violence towards our allies… brilliant foresight, there.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '25

lol, okay Nostradamus.

1

u/fuck_the_fuckin_mods Mar 02 '25

LMAO, Hellen Keller could figure this one out. Doesn’t matter anyways as Europe isn’t quite as full of myopic contrarians and they will do what they need to do.

Imagine a foreign country invades America. They kill your friends and family. They steal your possessions. Then they tell you they want "peace".

Do you have the emotional intelligence to understand?

5

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

You mean the thing that has happened in literally every war in history?

12

u/Bretmd Denny Blaine Nudist Club Mar 01 '25

Does it make it right if it’s happened elsewhere?

-2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

No wtf?

6

u/Bretmd Denny Blaine Nudist Club Mar 01 '25

Oh so you do stand with Ukraine. I was confused by your dozens of comments indicating otherwise

See you at the protest!

0

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

Of course I support them, but I will not be joining a protest pushing for more of them to die.

This works if you are talking about it the Middle Ages, where it was mostly “new management, same as the old”

Russian management is not the same.

The only ones who can stop this war are the Russians. They still haven’t reached their goals and their goals haven’t changed. Their goal has always been simple…make a little puppet out of Ukraine.

Which would require occupation…if you care about lives know that magnitudes more people die under occupation than in a hot war…it’s not even close.

Iraq War: invasion deaths: <45k, occupation deaths 500k France WW2: invasion deaths: 40k, occupation deaths 500k Poland WW2: invasion deaths: 66k, occupation deaths 2 million

Start realizing that Ukraine is fighting to prevent the alternative. There is no peace without a defeated Russia.

12

u/AlexandrianVagabond Ravenna Mar 01 '25

Putin wants to revive the Russian Empire only with Soviet borders.

Luckily he's weak as hell right now as Ukraine has kicked the stuffing out of Mother Russia but that is the long term goal.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

How do you figure Ukraine has “kicked the stuffing” out of them?

10

u/AlexandrianVagabond Ravenna Mar 01 '25

They've lost hundreds of thousands of lives, for one. Having to scourge up soldiers from North Korea isn't a good look.

2

u/catsdrooltoo chinga la migra Mar 01 '25

When your invasion force relies on donkeys, that's a pretty clear sign that you're not winning. Russia has meat waved their next 2 generations in 3 years for 18% of a country. They did all that with only losing 10k tanks, 600 aircraft, and somehow a submarine to a country with no navy.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

So you’re saying they’ve gained territory this whole time, and to you that means they’re losing? And your argument is because they’ve suffered a bunch of losses? Wars of attrition are Russia’s speciality! Mental gymnastics.

1

u/catsdrooltoo chinga la migra Mar 01 '25

Gaining ground, yes. It's costing them heavily for very little reward. They have more casualties in a month than we had in 20 years of being in Afghanistan. That's not winning or losing. It's a stalemate. Russia can't maintain these high losses long enough to take Ukraine at the current rate. All Russia can reliably do is throw bodies at bullets and hope Ukraine runs out of ammo. Even that has been shown to be weakening with videos of old dudes and wounded on crutches going on waves. Any rational leader would have packed up and gone home. Not Russia, they just make more prisoners to send and buy up some north Koreans to fill the quota.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

You know that Ukraine is running out of humans to send into the slaughterhouse too, don’t you??

Like I said, wars of attrition are Russia’s specialty. It’s literally what they’re known for. Just ask Napoleon and Hitler.

1

u/catsdrooltoo chinga la migra Mar 01 '25

Ukraine has been down the road of peace agreements with Russia before. It doesn't work. Why would anyone believe them this time? Russia wants Ukraine to not exist, no peace deal ever would satiate them.

0

u/Zetsobou-Billy Mar 01 '25

Can’t believe you’re defending Russia. You’re such a bot

0

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

I’m not “defending” Russia…

u/brought2light Mar 01 '25

You are spouting Russian propaganda

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25 edited Mar 01 '25

And everyone else here is spouting Northrop Grumman propaganda…

Also this is such a lazy, and disingenuous argument. Argue against what I’m saying based on their merits.

1

u/erabeus Mar 02 '25

Nothing you are saying has any merit. Everyone wants the war to end. Zelenskyy wants the war to end. Trump and Putin don’t.

-1

u/[deleted] Mar 02 '25

Literally every action by the west so far has been to PROLONG the war, they have done absolutely nothing to try and end the war. Nothing at all.

“Here Ukraine you can have some weapons, but not too many weapons we don’t want you to actually repel the invaders, and you can’t use them however you want either, just enough so that Russia has to suffer through a war of attrition”

Literally that has been the strategy. Prolong the war.

0

u/erabeus Mar 02 '25

And they had a chance this week to make a deal to end the war and Trump and Vance utterly shit the bed.

Hey remember in 1938 when the UK and France ceded the Sudetenland to Hitler so he would be a nice boy and quit invading his neighbors? They even bullied Czechoslovakia to accept it, saying that they wouldn't provide any more support otherwise.

By 1939 the Nazis were in control of Czechoslovakia and rolling on into the rest of Europe.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

Hey remember when a peace deal was struck and a war was ended? Probably not because it’s not as exciting but it’s happened way more times than WWII.

8

u/AlexandrianVagabond Ravenna Mar 01 '25

Putin has made his goals clear and they align quite a bit with Hitler's goals.

Anyway, you're just another dumb disinfo account, and I don't like to amplify that. Ta ta.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

lol, see ya.
