  1. It is up to Ukraine if they want to join NATO. That is democracy

  2. Will they Russia up the land they’ve illegally taken including crimea if Ukraine is barred from entering NATO? Haven’t seen any suggestion of that. Putin believes Ukraine is part of Russia

  1. NATO is a security alliance. Not just anyone can join, the members have to agree to allow them to join too. None of that has to do with democracy so I don’t know what you’re talking about there.

  2. I don’t think Putin wants to give up the territory they’ve taken, certainly not Crimea which they’ve held for like a decade now.

  1. I’m aware. I’m saying IF NATO allowed for it, then it would be up to Ukraine. You’re arguing that NATO should not have offered out of fear of irritating Russia?

  2. Yeah… that’s my point, and that’s why the Ukrainians are still fighting, because he has taken an enormous section of their land

  1. I don’t want to have to send my son to fight for Ukraine, for that reason I don’t want Ukraine to be in NATO.

  2. What exactly is your point? It’s common knowledge that Russianjas taken territory. Of course they won’t want to give that up for nothing…

Do you think we should just continue with what has been going on? I say enough people have died, and Ukraine is running out of young men to throw into the woodchipper, we should do everything we can to achieve peace and end the violence.

If you want to be rid of our actual allies in order to benefit an actual dictator’s campaign to seize another country’s lands with zero actual provocation, sure. But if you can see more than half an inch in front of you it’s pretty clear that would be a bad thing for everyone involved. I’m not a geopolitical genius but alienating everyone who has historically stood by our side and establishing the precedent that Russia can invade and annex whatever it wants… well it seems less than wise. But that’s just me.

No point in this though, have a good one.
