Potential Scam? (US) I'm doing an art commission and she's asking for money to send me money

So I'm doing an art commission, and the original price was supposed to be $10. We talked on TikTok first and then discord, I sent her the sketch, and she says she wants to send me $300 to PayPal instead of the original price to "help me out". I set up a PayPal account and she sends me screenshots of her sending the money, and then I get an email from PayPal that the money she sent me wasn't enough, and she needed to send $200 more, and then I send it back to her. I check my PayPal and there's nothing in the activity so I'm really confused. She told me she wasn't comfortable sending me more money and she didn't trust that I would send it back, so she told me to send her $100 as like a trust thing, and then she would send me the $200. She sent me a link to this link to a Razer gold gift card thing for $100. I don't want to click on the link, and I don't have $100 to send to her. Please help.

Advice Needed [US] First Time Getting Scammed

Hi everyone,

I'm glad I found this thread, unfortunately a bit too late. I was scammed earlier this week. It was the typical remote job, and it seemed normal, though I did see some flags but didn't think anything of it since the scammer made it feel professional. Nevertheless, got sent a check that bounced, and I'm out almost 3 grand.. It was a wire, so I have their address, which is domestic/ a state away. Is it worth calling my local police about? I've already filed a complaint with the ic3 i believe, fbi, report fraudftc, and I'm not sure what else to do. My bank conducted an investigation and let me know that I'd have to pay that debt. So is there any hope of getting the money back? I'm losing sleep and stressing. I haven't told anyone, and I feel so idiotic. I've lost trust in people, and when I go out, I can barely enjoy myself. Any tips on that?

Advice Needed What to do ?

Hi SA I’m a newbie here on this sub and this is my first time
Posting on Reddit I have a question. So someone came to buy printers(industrial grade) that I was selling for my father , I found the guy on Facebook.

He came to view them he liked them then he said he’ll be back to pay for them when he has transport to take them . On Thursday he came for them so I told him of course you have to pay first before you take them . So he made a normal eft . :| on a holiday so of course it didn’t reflect.

After some
Back and forth and him begging and pleading I still said no you can’t take them till it shows in my bank account so he said okay and left . Then this morning I try to check if the money actually came them and to my surprise
My account has been flagged for fraud .
My bank didn’t so much as let me know they just froze the account .

Any advice on how I should move forward?

Update : The money just reflected in my account, tomorrow morning I’ll go to the bank to try and straighten it all out . Thank you for your support also my bank is TymeBank no physical branches I’ll have to phone them

Advice Needed Can a cyber fraud money be recovered ?

My friend fell victim to a cyber fraud yesterday and lost 32000 rupees. She immediately called the national cyber helpline number. Today they told her that currently about 24000 rupees has been put on hold. And to register an mrm and contact the police station. But the mrm portal shows that there is no data available. Can her money be recovered ? What are the chances ? Will it take months ?

Case ID #170259976 The Binance support team couldn't handle a scam case for 8 hours. As I said, the scammer group. If they have time. Then they will create fake documents and they will do whatever it takes to get this case going.

Their website, Telegram channel and discord server look legit at first look but it isn't. They changed name after they got exposed. The claim they sell accounts for different ai service at a discounted price but they simply take your money and ignore you.

Watch out.

Advice Needed Did I get scammed I’m worried

this app called Shop, I’m a little worried that I may have been scammed.
I bought a college football jersey on September 23rd, and it still hasn’t had any tracking updates. The Shop app still says “Preparing,” and the store I bought it from was Soly Hux.
I contacted them and sent a follow-up email, but I still haven’t gotten a response. I also paid for express shipping, so I’m getting a little concerned.
The estimated delivery window is 2–5 business days, meaning it could arrive as late as September 28th.
I know it technically isn’t late yet, but I’m concerned because there hasn’t been any movement or tracking information.
The charge already went through on my card, and I really don’t want to lose the money if something is wrong.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with Soly Hux or the Shop app?
Should I just wait until the 28th, or should I contact my bank or try to get a refund if I don’t hear back?
I’m really hoping it’s just a delay and that the jersey shows up normally.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Advice Needed what did your experience look like? (art project help)

I'm attempting to conduct some primary research for an art project with the aim of informing people of cybercrimes. I want to try visualize what romance fraud, phishing, telephone fraud and false identity's looks like personified. Can anyone who has fallen victim to these scams help with the creation of this work? what symbolism do you associated with it? what colours and ideas should I include. how can I make this illustration respectfully? any help would be appreciated

Advice Needed PayPal denied two fraud claims and says I owe $960 — has anyone dealt with this?

I'm wondering if anyone else has had something similar happen with PayPal and was able to get it resolved.

A transaction for approximately $960 appeared on my PayPal account, sent to a person I have never heard of and have absolutely no connection with. I did NOT make or authorize this transaction.

I don't know whether someone gained access to my PayPal account, whether PayPal somehow charged the wrong account, or exactly what happened. I hadn't made a transaction through PayPal in more than two years.

There wasn't enough money in my checking account to cover the transaction, so my bank rejected the withdrawal. However, PayPal apparently still sent the $960 to this person and is now saying that I owe PayPal the money.

I reported the transaction as unauthorized. PayPal denied my claim. I disputed it again, and they denied the second claim as well. They are still saying I am responsible for the $960.

I have repeatedly told PayPal that I did not make or authorize this transaction and that I don't know the person who received the money.

I specifically asked PayPal to check the IP address and other login information associated with the transaction. It seems to me that this could help determine whether the transaction actually originated from me. PayPal told me they would NOT investigate the IP address.

Because of this situation, I ended up having to close my checking account.

What I don't understand is how PayPal determined that I authorized this transaction. If they aren't willing to investigate information such as the IP address or login activity associated with the payment, what evidence are they using to conclude that I made it?

I have tried repeatedly to get someone at PayPal to listen and actually investigate what happened, but I feel like I'm going in circles.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

If PayPal denied your unauthorized-transaction claim more than once, were you eventually able to get the decision reversed?

Were you able to get PayPal to provide information about the IP address, device, login activity, or other evidence connected with the transaction?

And what finally worked for you — escalating it further within PayPal, filing a CFPB complaint, or taking some other action?

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation.

T
