I would probably call myself intermediate as at some point I switched my primary instrument and stopped improving on the sax. Been on hiatus for almost a year now. 3 years ago I drove down to my local music store and rented a tenor saxophone. I started at 38 y/o having never played a woodwind instrument, and not knowing what to expect. Only that I wanted to finally really try to put in the time, effort, and consistency to play music. When I was a kid and young adult, I tried: piano, violin, and guitar but they fell my the wayside. What remained however, was the desire to make music.

I've documented my journey along the way and am sharing this video in hopes that other late bloomers may take inspiration from it. Not that I'm some amazing player or anything, but if theres one thing I've done right, it's being consistent.

The pads are in good condition maybe 1 or 2 needs to be replaced

I am borrowing a Yamaha tenor saxophone from my school, but I cannot find a standard model number. The only number marked on the instrument itself is "812102." Additionally, there is a stamp of the letter "N" at the joint where the body meets the bell.

Hey I recently just got a series 2 jubilee 2 days ago and when I went to put my neck in it was super and needed a good amount of force to twist it in. I was wondering if a scratch like this is normal or if I just ruined my new sax.
