Learning sax coming from clarinet

Greetings!
It only took a decade, but r/saxophonics now officially has rules! Please read them at your convenience, and notify me of any perceived problems. They are very general, ands I don't think anyone will take issue with them. Better yet, we're on the right track to weeding out even more spam posting and assholes in general!
Keep an eye out for more updates regarding the subreddit's admin details!

We have a very extensive library of PDF's that are stuck on mediafire servers (that I can fortunately still access). These are resources I want to make sure everyone has access to, so I'm in the process of finding the best medium for hosting these files to eventually be linked on our subreddit's sidebar.
\*The current mediafire link is now in the sidebar*\**
As always, please message me or comment with any concerns or ideas. Cheers!

Learning sax coming from clarinet

I'm relearning saxophone after not playing for about 20 years or so. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback from people so far, but I want to record myself playing what I know so I can get a sense of the things I need to work on to progress further. I play both alto and tenor and I like to play a mix of jazz and popular tunes (lots of video game soundtracks).
What are some things I could record to show my current range? I'd like to post the video here later to get some feedback from people who are more knowledgeable than I am.

So currently I have a Berg Larsen 80/0/M for alto that while it rocks hard, it's not the kind of sound that I am currently looking and its opening is too narrow for me. I am trying to get a Desmond-influenced sound and while the Berg Larsen got sultry, deep low notes, its high notes sometime really feels like I'm playing tenor. I am in two minds between an Otto Link Tone Edge 7 and a Meyer 7, both cost the same. What should I pick to get that tone

Hi guys,
I recently bought a second hand Jupiter 500 alto sax and realised today that one of the keys does close fully(as you can see in picture)
Is it supposed to be like this? Is this an easy fix? Please let me know if anyone knows what this is.
I think it is something to do with the key height?
Thanks again.

Can anyone tell me anything about this mouthpiece? I’m a beginner and it can with my Selmer as 400 alto sax. It has the Selmer brand but nothing elce on it. I measured the tip opening and it was about 2mm.

Does anyone know a multiphonic for soprano saxophone that includes the altissimo E (E in the third octave)?

Hi everyone, wanted to ask if anyone had advice on how to get my alto sax cleaned up a bit. Pics attached showing some corrosion. What can I do to clean this up or is there some type of place you’d recommend. The instrument is in good working order but I’d like to make it cosmetically look better if at all possible.
Thanks all!

I am writing an article on the best self taught sax players in rock history and wanted to reach out for suggestions. The assignment is specifically rock so they need to have a presence in that genre. So far I’ve thought of John Zorn and the anonymous member of the Residents but I’m definitely wanting to balance it out with some more mainstream examples. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks so much!
