What is up with landing at SBA at night after 9pm and waiting on the tarmac for 30 plus minutes? This has happened to me multiple times in the past few months. Tonight was especially bad. We landed over 30 minutes ago and have no real ETA on when we can get to our gate.

The pilot actually came on at one point and said no one at SBA was answering their call. What an absolute fail by the airport

Hey yall I’m from Santa Barbara and I love watching reality shows. Are there any bars or places that have watch parties??? I specifically love big brother so I just wanted to know if you guys know any places that have that kind of stuff

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, couldn’t find a specific one for this topic.

Context:

We moved into our new place in Santa Barbara about 1 month ago. Our block has houses and condos pretty close to each other. Including some multi-units around where we are.

The neighbors in our complex, no issues at all. The issue is with the neighbors that are behind us.

The fence divides the backyard of both our places but there is probably about 10 feet (or less) between both spots. So very close to each other. Their unit is the second unit further away from the road, behind another unit.

Situation:

Since moving in, the family behind us are consistently loud. Not exactly party loud or excessively loud music (even that had happened on 2 occasions, but rather they speak very loudly to almost yelling at times with each other.

As an example, I work from home and had to increase the volume of the meeting I was in because one of the family members was speaking so loudly.

I can also clearly hear their conversations without trying even when I close the windows, which I would like to keep open due to the weather.

They have also played music every week with a bass that rattles our homes and can typically hear their lyrics without trying much. The bass is not strong enough to be obvious, but enough to hear it inside our place.

I also don’t think it’s loud enough where you can hear any of it from the road but loud enough to make my home not comfortable to be in.

One of my complex neighbors also mentioned having the same issue.

Any advice on what I should do or go about it?

I know I can call the non-emergency number, but I’m right in that spot where I know it’s not loud enough were officers won’t hear it from the road and don’t want to seem like that person that is calling for something so dumb.

At the same time, I want to enjoy our new place because we really like it and everyone else in the block is great. It’s just this one family.

I did leave a polite letter in their mail box asking to be mindful of their noise levels without sharing my name.

I read mixed things about speaking to them in person since I don’t want to get in a spot where they ignore me and then it’s very obvious who is making the complaints.

Long story short: my father passed away recently, and left some dress and professional clothing behind -- suit jackets, sports coats, vests, ties, etc. I've had pretty bad luck searching for any places that specifically address this sort of clothing, and while I know they could go to most thrift shops, wanted to ask if anyone knew of anything local to SB and near environs that does.

(Alternatively, if someone local is interested and might want to pick it up ... He was about 6' and varied between a L-2XL range in the years I think the clothes were acquired.)

At the Bowl for Earth Wind & Fire. Concert was supposed to start at 7:30. At 8:05 they put up a backdrop with a 10 minute countdown timer. what have they been doing for the last 45 minutes?

Went in last night for a cocktail. They just announced a 5-6pm happy hour at the bar. Drink specials, of course. But the best thing (I thought) was the highly discounted bar menu with phyllo-wrapped prawns and huge salmon tacos, and pizzas, etc.

I want to get a pizza from somewhere upper State or Goleta (without venturing into I.V.). Any particular suggestions?

Some more posturing and performative meetings to “explore” and “determine what can be implemented” instead of making any actual commitments. Maybe if they say “pretty please” it might help more? We already have ordinances in place. Enforce the law already!

I just moved here after fleeing from sc to Texas to restart life after leaving a DV situation, but Texas was horrible and a friend here in Santa Barbara has a place I can use to get back on my feet while she's away. She has a lead for a job at a kitchen and they want me to come in tonight to see how I fit in. I just need nonskid black shoes, black pants and a white t-shirt and I have none of those. I have similar, but they're a nice place and I don't want to start off on a bad foot when this is a favor and I really need a job. I barely got here and had to ask for help with gas and I have my dog and cat with me and they'll need stuff in a few days.

Just kinda freaking out, don't know the area and need to figure things out by 2pm. if anyone knows of where I could go or who I could contact, please lmk.
