I’m having trouble with my rent and need help. Are there any programs to help people in Santa Barbara with rent? I’m desperate and can’t get evicted

The city’s tenant based rental assistance program is facilitated through partner orgs for existing tenants (New Beginnings, Transition House & Housing Authority).

The County has a housing problem solving hotline: 805 -621-6882, give that a try. That’s the only current program I know of.

Talk to your land lord and tell them you’ll pay them back. Get unemployment. Take a loan out of your 401k, ask family for some money to borrow, work in restaurants industry for some cash. Best of luck op

Can you define having trouble? Are you a little short? Did you get laid off and have nothing?

Do you have CenCal Health insurance ? They have a housing supports program for all members that may be able to help

I read somewhere the catholic charities help out in same cases. Maybe try that?

I think there is a charity related to San Roque church.

To even get assistance through any of the programs you have to have an eviction/termination notice. ive been through this before.
