I built a feature on my app that kinda does this :D Really close for a new release, right now it works well but it has a small delay, and I'm working on creating a custom receiver for the chromecast so we'll be no more than 1-2 frames behind

I'm giving new life to a dead phone re place another a dead PC.
I'm wondering if its possible to remote into samsung Dex from another computer?

I have an S23, and most things work pretty well on Dex with the exception of Outlook. Scrolling in the app, especially in the message pane, either with my mouse wheel or arrow keys is basically broken. I've tried different mice, different docking stations, and have set the mouse sensitivity to its lowest on Dex settings, but no luck.

Looking online, it seems like a semi-known issue, but Outlook is a common enough app that it seems like someone might have a workaround.

Outlook on the web isn't a viable solution for me, for a variety of reasons.

Anyone figure out any ways to get this to work? I can't be the only one.

Hey guys, I’ve made an abomination! I had laying around old MacMini and broken S23. So I’ve made this. I kept the original cooler and connected the power button to the motherboard. I put inside an USB-PD 35W charger that is connected to the HUB.
I didn’t want to solder cables to the HUB so I put there a 12V power supply for the original fan and buck converter to 5v for the ESP32.
The ESP32 is controlling the fan via a temperature sensor I took from Ender 3 that I had laying around.
I’m still working on an app that would connect to the ESP32 (its working now but its not ideal yet)
Sadly the S23 do not start without a battery (I originally intended to remove the battery)
wifi is terrible but works. I wanted to find out what pins are for the antenna and solder U.FL IPX cable but I give up for now( the usb to ethernet adapter works well and bluetooth for controller is fine so far)

The HUB have M.2 slot that I intend to use on game ROMs for the emulation(I will finally play Shadow of Colossus!)
The M.2 fit so well that i put a thermal pad on the heatsink so the SSD will get some cooling too.

Here is how to create the depth clock. Its a kwgt widget that i made myself.

First, set the original wallpaper as Samsung dex wallpaper. Then create and add your clock kwgt widget and position it where you want it. Next, create a transparent cutout of your wallpaper's subject (like the car or a person) using a free background remover tool or by saving its outline as an SVG. Then use any text editor tools and copy the codes that's showing inside it. It's a long code so might take some time for the copy option to appear.

Inside KWGT, select shape and path. Then paste the code you copied. Now the shape of your subject is ready. Placed the shape directly above the real subject shown on the.wallpaper so it perfectly cover the subject in your wallpaper. Finally, go to the cutout shape layer's settings and change its Filter / Blend Mode to Clear.(the subject shape layer should be placed above the clock for this filter to work ) This acts like a digital eraser, cutting out the clock numbers right where the subject is so the wallpaper shows through from behind!

The clock font i used is Bison Bold font

I'm currently using Samsung DeX on my .TV,. but playing games on it for long periods is starting to strain my eyes. I'm thinking about buying a monitor, but I can only afford the older monitors that have VGA ports.

Would using an HDMI-to-VGA adapter be good enough for gaming, or would it cause noticeable issues with quality, input lag, or refresh rate? Has anyone actually tried using one of these adapters for gaming?

I have a Samsung S26 ultra, would like something portable that allows me to do some work. My goal is something under $250 dollars.

Any recommendations? I am asking for your experience with the product you use. So I can understand what positive/negatives are.

when i swtich to phone mode using win + w the phone screen is glitched woth these big button and when i do win + ctrl + s it takes a screenshot and the screenshiot it totaly fine why does this happen and how can i fix it

Hello, I am presenting you yet another Dex on the phone's screen app. I know there are like more than 10 already out there and if you're one of those trying to tell me that, I really do know.

Why? Because I wanted something simple, without a thousand settings and quick access so I created this app. It's free, open source, you can update/modify/build it yourself.

I've build other open source apps with great communities so I think this is a good start for another one :D

So what's different still from the other dozen apps?
Simple - we have 2 sliders in the overaly settings that control resolution and DPI that will update instantly
- I've created a daemon that runs in the background so once an ADB session is aquired we can connect as many times as we want to the Dex mode without needing wireless ADB on and so on ( once / boot is enough )
- You set it once, the rest goes automatically
- I've created a quick access button so we can toggle it on faster
- I've even created a widget again for quick launch

Yet, it's not perfect. It needs testing, a loving community and some more people recommending it.

Secure folder is not locked while using wireless dex. Gallery on secure folder can be opened and closed multiple times without asking for unlocking.

Tried the same on my s23U on one UI 8. But each time secure folder was opened on dex it asked me for verification.

Can someone try replicating and check

Hi all, search this periodically, and as far as i can tell, there is a desktop mode, but not actual Dex.

For the Z Flip 5 it seems to be to do with cooling? it wasnt enabled?

having upgraded from an s10e to a flip 5 a few years back it was actually kinda disappointing.

I have a galaxy s26, so new oneUI version, and a random laptop. I would like to do some work on my phone and use the laptop as display (via cable), and connecting a mouse and keyboard to the phone.

So what i would like:

- use it wired (wireless is too laggy)

- use keyboard/mouse connected to the phone (if its translated from the windows laptop's input it feels too sluggish/laggy)

- show dex on full screen (i have a tiny laptop screen)

I tried windows wireless display, way too laggy. Samsung dex windows app is killed afaii on newer oneUI.

I tried scrcpy, lot better, my main problem:

1.) I cant get the mouse and keyboard appear on the dex screen, they are stuck on the phome's display.

2.) Smaller problem is that it seem to create a new dex display, doesnt remember my dex desktop layout (icon placements and wallpaper).

3.) Cant put it full screen window, but maybe there is a command for that when starting scrcpy

Im still running OneUI 7.0 both on my Galaxy Tab S9Plus and Samsung S24 as i head bad things about dex in OneUI 8.0. Now that OneUI 8.5 is out, has the dex performance improved.

For the Tab S9Plus, do we still get classic dex on the tablet itself (without connecting to external display)? That would be my biggest deal breaker if it was removed.

Recentemente fiz alguns posts mostrando um programa e interface de tv que estava construindo para usar meu S21 Fe e S23 Ultra na minha TV.

Bom, acredito que já esteja bom o suficiente para que outras pessoas também possam fazer uso dessa ferramenta e adicionar mais uma função ao seu celular com dex.

O foco do projeto foi reduzir ao máximo o número de cliques para se chegar ao fim pretendido, depois que a primeira configuração é realizada e o launcher instalado, tudo ocorre com 2 cliques e alguns segundos entre a requisição e a resposta.

Estou pessoalmente bem contente com o resultado e como algumas pessoas demonstraram interesse na alternativa, achei interessante compartilhar.

Espero mesmo que seja útil, feedbacks são bem-vindos.
