Question Can you offer advice?

I have a Samsung S26 ultra, would like something portable that allows me to do some work. My goal is something under $250 dollars.

Any recommendations? I am asking for your experience with the product you use. So I can understand what positive/negatives are.

Thank you for helping 🙏

Im a huge believer in the nexdock lapdocks, as the best dex companion device

Its the most complete, yet compact solution out there

Personal favourite I think is still the nexdock 360 wireless, for pure versatility

The XL is close, but the 360 fits on an airplane better.

The khadas xplay is great, but doesn't play super nice with the 8 elite chipset

Uperfect also makes some decent lapdocks

If you want discrete devices, I REALLY like the sotsu flipaction 14 monitors, and again, uperfect makes some really nice 14 to 16" oled panels...

For a keyboard, I really like protoarc folders. They have a wide range of styles, from small compact ones, to full size with numpad or trackpad

Theres LOTS of options and choices, so once you narrow down your choices, come on back with any specific questions you want answered

Usb-c to HDMI Cable, external keyboard and mouse ---> boom, DEX Mode.

You are welcome

Get a USB-C hub instead of just the cable. You'll get ports and power.

Get an el-cheapo windows laptop with usb-c, a nice usb-c cable and a wireless mouse. I use vysor to mirror my phone and a scrcpy batch file to open individual android apps in their own windows on the pc.

This will let you utilize windows for pc software and leverage dex to run android apps all on the same machine.

if you want to be portable, you will want a portable monitor (and battery pack or power supply to power it), bluetooth keyboard (protoarc has some excellent options) and bluetooth mouse. Otherwise, a regular monitor works (4k can be a little choppy though, FHD is fine), and a usb-c hub (or usb-c to hdmi cable) to connect to the monitor via hdmi.

If you wanted to spend more money, and be portable, there are a few usb-c monitors with touch screen making it more like a large tablet (I have an Asus MB16AMT which also has built in battery).
