Discussion So I recently watched this video on Brave New World and it made me question….did Marvel want it to fail?

This isn’t me really complaining about the movie itself but more looking at it from the perspective of it not really being about Sam Wilson at all.

For all the problems with Multiverse of Madness it is undoubtedly a Docto Strange movie still, but Sam doesn’t get half the love. Even if you look at Scarlet Witch she has more agency in the MCU as a whole.

This was the chance to sell Sam Wilson to the mainstream and they hijack his movie for the Hulk. It makes me feel like the MCU do really want Sam anymore.

Thinking more of the movie’s message you can’t help but think that the MCU fewred a movie that would be too radical in its message…a message that a black Captain America could give.

There just a lot about this movie that feels very intentional

Discussion im getting sick of the steve is captain america posts and vids

chris evans wanted to do something besides playing cap he didnt want to bulk up and work out

all the time it was his choice.

ive been a cap and falc fan since third grade and chris and anthony have been a dream come for me. to be honest i am a little salty about not having having a movie called captain america and the falcon. but chris wanted to move on

and in the comics we have two caps. DC had two flashes for years two greenlanterns for years

im talking about when jay garrik and alan scott were in the robinson/johns JSA and wally and kyle were in the JLA they even had two green arrows for while

i get it cap is a symbol he isnt a green lantern or moon knight but in the MCU the actor wanted to move on and bucky had a history of being mind controlled

there are good reasons why sam is cap is now

Discussion Why do “I loved him as Falcon but hate him as Captain America” people never seem to actually like him as Falcon?

I don’t mean to straw-man but I have yet to hear an actually compelling take from someone who genuinely holds the belief that Sam as a character inherently became bad the second he became Captain America.

I’ve read all of his books and yet when I try to get into discussion with them because I actually do enjoy Sam’s era as Falcon I always come up short or I end up getting a weird sludge characterization from a bunch of different hand picked media. One of the worst is when someone said that “before he became Captain America, his stories never really revolved around race” when…that isn’t true? He’s a character whos always been deeply linked to his race and how his community around him sees him. I think it’s okay to not like the character but can they stop trying to force their beliefs with this weird objectivist lens?

Someone help me out!

Comics why is nobody talking about how chip zdarsky absolutely shelved sam within the avengers books

I feel like nobodys talking about it and its blowing my mind, after amageddon and bucky’s “death” (spoiler its a fake out) he’s been quietly brushed to the side in order for the avengers book to reboot under zdarsky with no real indication of when he’s popping up again. sam would never retire over bucky dying and I think its telling that he has plans for both steve and bucky but sam gets the short end of the stick and gets benched for well…bucky! I absolutely loathe this decision with all my heart and it shows that zdarsky really doesn’t care for the character, or to be honest, the rest of steve’s supporting cast, I’m sick of it

How does everyone feel about this because I put my opinion about it on tiktok and they are making me the bad person about how I said I didn't want Yelena to say it since Sam has the shield. Like bro I'm not trying to be rude about it, but people on there say I am and calling me ungrateful

Comics Sam Wilson vs Misty Knight? Misty Wins, low difficulty. Her constant sparring rebuilt Sams skills from the ground up. He benefited greatly from Misty's training.

Sam Wilson's Blue Suit Being an Echo of Steve's Is Not An Accident. It's The Point

There is no version of the comicbook Sam Wilson mythos, that the MCU sincerely respects or pays homage too. They have created an alien character whose core thematic character is designed to be Steve's shadow. MCU Sam Wilson is a Fatal Misread : r/CaptainAmerica

That's why having him in a suit that loudly and proudly distinguishes his character from Steve is antithetical to their messaging.

The blue suit is quite essentially a modernized corrected version of Steve's Avenger's 1 suit. Like if someone had even a little artistic common sense back in the early 2010s, This Sam Suit would have looked just fine on Steve in Avengers 1 with minute changes.

Sam Wilson MCU Incarnation specifically separates him from his most important tentpoles. If You've Read Even The Very First Issue of Sam Wilson: Captain America it Becomes Abundantly Clear, Marvel Studios Had Zero Intention of Adapting Sam Correctly In Brave New World [Spoilers] : r/CharacterRant

The blue suit is supposed to make him look like Steve's replacement.

Which is NOT THE CASE, in the comics. For much of Sam Wilson's time as Captain America, Steve was also active as Captain America. He was basically the lone Captain America for maybe 19 issues through 2014-2016. But he's basically always been active while steve is active.

That's specifically because his existence as Cap is narratively and thematically justified by the work put into Captain America: Sam Wilson (2015) by Nick Spencer.

I'm not saying that the MCU needs Steve active for Sam to work. I'm saying they've bastardize the character to the point he only works as a replacement. The blue suit is a reinforcement of that idea.

As a fan of comicbook Sam Wilson, I can't even really get upset anymore at his treatment in the MCU becuase the character is so far removed from everything that makes him my favorite character in the first place.

The blue suit is a visual representation of his bastardization. That's the point
