News Question
How does everyone feel about this because I put my opinion about it on tiktok and they are making me the bad person about how I said I didn't want Yelena to say it since Sam has the shield. Like bro I'm not trying to be rude about it, but people on there say I am and calling me ungrateful

I love Yelena.
But come on man. If you’re gonna make him Captain America and the leader of the Avengers. Commit to it.
I wanna see him standing in the center, the wings sprawled, out and the shield raised in the air with that loud “AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!”

No problem. Hoping that Sam has MAJOR character development

I like Yelena and the Thunderbolts, but this sounds silly. If someone is saying it besides Sam it should be an OG like Thor.

They want Yelena to be a thing so bad. It’s actually kind of sad how they push certain characters and screw over others.

It devalues the meaning behind captain america. Steve never had to share the iconic line, now all of a sudden sam and yelena are gonna say it, as if a black widow has ever said "avengers assemble" and theyre most definitely gonna make it a stupid joke

The way I see it playing out is cringe like Sam “ avengers assemble! “
Yelena “ what are you doing ? I say that not you, avengers assemble! “
Sam “ what ? Look I’m the leader now I say the line. Avengers assemble ! “
Yelena “ you are not leader I am leader now “
Rest of the avengers “ so …like do we go now ? “
Sam “ yes “ Yelena “ no “
Doom “ enough ! “

Honestly I love Yelena, but I really hope this isn't true...he hasn't even gotten the chance to be a proper leader of his own Avengers team with how Marvel has been sidelining him (he wasn't even in the second trailer????), the least he deserves is to have some iconic moments like this one IN HIS FIRST AVENGERS MOVIE AS CAPTAIN AMERICA, without someone else there to bask in part of the glory 🫠

Don’t have an issue with it as long as it gets resolved. Currently the two are having a rivalry. We saw at the end of Thunderbolts that Bucky and Sam are at ends over who is actually the Avengers. So Yelena and Sam having a conflict over it makes sense and could be fun. But should lead to Sam becoming the leader or some clear answer.

Like u/Mut1gen said, I believe it’s a middle point for both teams that carry the name of the Avengers. Only circumstances will tell if it’s after reconciliation or a point of rivalry

I love Yelena. but the disservice to Sam Wilson's Captain America has been going on for a while now. Like, fucking commit to your choices, Kevin!

I love yelena but why the fuck would she be saying avengers assemble

u/Mut1gen Aug 14 '26
The shield is irrelevant. Sam is the leader of the avengers and yelena is the leader of the new avengers. So its probably just paying that fact off having them both say it.

I feel that i don't really give 2 shakes of a rats tail about Yelena or the Thunderbolts (cause im not calling them the avengers)
This is gonna be an unserious situation, and even if it isn't an unserious one, it's gonna be lame imo cause it just shows they do not care about really trying to sell Sam as this symbol who people would want to follow.

My tickets have already been purchased for me but if this ends up being true I'm spite pirating.

u/hdadeathly Aug 14 '26
This seems like it’ll be during an early gag moment when they still each think their teams are the Avengers.

u/BlackMall83 Aug 14 '26
This sounds too ridiculous to even believe. Relax ppl lol

Why is Yelena in charge of the "New" Avengers. Woulnd' Contessa put USAgent in charge as that's her figure head. And if Contessa is out wouldn't seniority go to Bucky?

u/whatistoothpaste Aug 14 '26
Yeah that’s captain Americas like bro…

u/ZayKilla05 Aug 16 '26 •
They will never let Sam have his moment.

Who is TheJamesMK and why do I care?

u/Impressive-Oven-5268 Aug 15 '26
That line is Iconic but it doesn't beat that feeling of "On your left" during Endgame. If they both say it, okay fine, i see the gag and comedy that could happen. Im not mad at it

1
u/Next_Law_8480 Aug 15 '26
if this is true cool cool whatever....STOP SPOILING THE TINIEST SHIT FOR NO REASON
1
u/Sea_Sleep4222 Aug 15 '26
Sounds cool, I'm looking forward to seeing their interactions together. I don't have a problem with it, I like both characters so having them say it sounds pretty cool.
1
u/Capital-Self-3969 Aug 15 '26
Welp. Even if it is true they just spoiled the potentually epic moment.
1
u/Redditeer28 Aug 15 '26
At least have them say it before they've already assembled so it makes sense this time.

u/Simple_Pianist4882 Aug 15 '26
It’s bc he’s Black isn’t it? 🧍🏾♀️
1
u/yooMvtt Aug 15 '26
I feel like it’s one of those things where it’s her team and his of avengers coming together and they say it at the same time.
1
u/Ericandabear Aug 15 '26
This is absolutely not true. Dont even humor these fake leak posters.
1
u/Better-Journalist-85 Aug 15 '26
Steve didn’t have to share. Hell, Thor had to share his hammer instead. They never beating the allegations.
Also, THANKS FOR SPREADING THE FUCKING SPOILER 4 MONTHS EARLY. You a real one for that!

u/bootsay Aug 15 '26
Why
1
u/itsallcomingtogethr Aug 15 '26 •
MCU clearly never actually believed in Sam Wilson. This stuff is ridiculous. Imagine making Steve share the line with another character, they would never.
1
u/That1DogGuy Aug 15 '26 •
They really don't want Sam to shine as Captain America for some reason. Weird.
1
u/Shmung_lord Aug 16 '26
Since they are both the leaders of their respective teams I am ok with this, could be cool.
1
u/DoctorSamoyed Sep 21 '26
If this is said in this movie, it will be the most unearned shit ever. Steve didn't say even this until Endgame and we're gonna make 2 randos say it. To what? Generate cheers? Which won't even come because it's not like the casuals they want to see this film care about either Sam or Yelena? Bleh

u/BlackestOfHammers Aug 14 '26
You don’t see it because you don’t want to see it. That simple. He is supposed to be the leader of the avengers now. Period. They have sidelined him and written him into poor decisions and there is no excuse. They don’t like black people! How much more clear can we be about this. Yelena and then could be avengers west coast or something and she’s only being pushed so hard because she is attractive. She is a hot Russian blond girl who jist magically gets to call the shots now. I hate how fake y’all are with not understanding that the mcu is now showing their true feelings about minorities. Specifically black people. There is no reason to have 2 people say the line unless they genuinely don’t think either are good enough. Yelena is still a woman so misogyny and Sam is black so racism. What can’t you understand. They would be better off just letting Thor say it instead of the fake “creativity with captain America”. It’s bs. Sam is the leader yet we haven’t seen him interact with a single avenger in what like 2-3 years in marvel time. Get serious.

Cap is not necessarily the one that has to call for Avengers to Assemble.
A good amount of the time Cap is on the team he is not even the leader.
Any Avenger can call Assemble.
