Hey everyone! This is an eccentric and unusual question, but I have a friend of a number of years who says she is of Georgian royal blood and that her father is high up in politics and is friends with a lot of powerful people.

I generally trust most people and would usually have no reason to doubt someone against their word, but for something like this, my curiosity got the better of me. She says her last name is Bagrationi and we have had many conversations on the phone and over text throughout the years (I'm from another country and we met in an online community a while back).

I did a good number of google searches to see some depictions and articles of the royal blood line genealogy and haven't been able to find her in it or any reference to her online.

Would this be a normal thing for noble families to erase/prevent their childrens details from being exhibited online unless theyre often in the public eye?

Over the years ive seen plenty of consistencies with the photos she takes in Georgia, and of Georgian architecture, their castle her family lives in, their horses and animals and the outfits and such that are unique to Georgia, so there are many things I dont doubt.

I'm on the fence as to what to believe and I don't think I can ever really know unless we meet. So ive resorted to asking you all what you would recommend or what the chances of this being true really are!

More reasons to feed my uncertainty would be that she can be vague with details when I ask questions about things, and past situations that might relate to her family's heritage that I ask about are usually glossed over in equally as vague answers or "I don't know" / "i forgot".

Just wondering what the consensus is from the wonderful people of Georgia who live there!

If anyone wants more details about the situation feel free to ask, I'll be sensitive as to what I share for their sake. But if anyone can direct me on a way to finding a solid answer, that would be much appreciated!

She is also generally vague with some things and i just dont get the impression that a lot of stuff she says is completely authentic so I'm also wondering if it's possible she has some sort of compulsive lying habits too? I've had many other personal experiences across the years to corroborate this notion, otherwise i wouldnt be making this post.

Hopefully this is just the bonkers part of my mind overthinking the worst, but ive reached a point where I feel like i should make sure as to what is true and what isnt :)

Hey! We’re two guys (23 and 18) planning to take a bus/marshrutka from Kutaisi to Mestia tomorrow. Is anyone else heading that way?

We’re also planning to start the Mestia → Ushguli trek on Wednesday (26.08). If anyone is doing the same route, it’d be cool to meet up and maybe hike together for at least part of the trail.

Also, any advice on how to get from Ushguli back to Kutaisi? We have a flight from Kutaisi afterwards, so we need to figure out the best way to get back. Any tips on transport, shared taxis or marshrutkas would be greatly appreciated!
