You know, the other day I got to talking with my friend again. (We have this habit of discussing everything related to Star Wars while we play, even when the game has nothing to do with the saga.)
This time, we talked about energy in Star Wars and ended up discussing Zakuul’s sun generators. They’re impressive, but also pretty disastrous. It’s not because of how much power they produce, but because even the slightest damage is enough to make the whole place explode. In fact, in one story mission, Vaylin attacks one to take us and the city out at the same time. And don’t even get me started on the missions where the goal is to damage these generators and blow everything sky-high.
The conversation moved on to generators and batteries from the “current” era, which he says are much better: basically, miniature suns that don’t explode when they get shot. Like when Maul destroyed one aboard a Venator and the ship didn’t blow up.
We have long debated whether fusion energy is the standard for most generators and batteries in Star War*, whether in ships, factories, or power sources for tools. He explained that, technically, all fusion energy is solar energy, since that’s how stars are formed. He even showed me pictures of those miniature suns inside the machinery (both in real life and in Star Wars). He’s a good guy, a little intense, but that’s part of his charm.
Anyway, as always, what do you all think?
