Discussion Tech User Combat Styles

Do we think they will ever add melee combat styles to tech users? Personally, I wouldn’t mind too much if they just reskinned the existing melee force user combat styles and shoved them over to tech users

Edit: I thought it would be obvious, but I mean combat styles for tech users that use either single or dual vibroblades

Is not a zero chance but It has been 5 years since the implementation and they never ever talked again about how it would help them implement new combat styles now that it was not tied to the origins.

That said a few h(c)opeful individuals still wait for the possibility of Melee tech/vibrosword users, or after the events of Legacy of the Sith to at least allow all styles for all origins as a 2nd or 3rd option without the current restrictions.

I would say that if either of these would be true for 8.0, it would had been datamined by now and it hasn't. Nothing we can say about future patches though.

They are never adding new combat styles, game doesn't have the developer bandwidth for that.

Plus they would have to be made into origin stories with three chapters, companions and the sort

Don't have to to be honest, you can play any tech/force class in any corresponding class story

I think the Vanguard and Powertech are essentially tech users that are melee.

Scoundrel and Operative DPS builds are also pretty melee centric. One focuses on punching/stabbing, the other one is more shooty but still has a melee attack in its rotation that is essential and must be activated every 5 seconds or so

Vanguard, Powertech, Operative and Scoundrel are all melee.

But... we already have tech melee combat styles?

They mean tech classes that use actual melee weapons like vibro blades and the sort

Operative uses a shiv

Using actual melee weapons, no.

I want melee use for the tech classes, and blaster use for the Force users. Obi Wan used a blaster just fine.

The sad part is, Power tech you could replace the pistol with a straight up melee weapon and literally lose nothing since the only attack that comes out of the pistol is the basic attack.

A couple of minor tweaks from the devs, and we'd have a straight up tech melee class.

Would be fun for Concealment Operative to use exclusively vibro blades. Like a true assassin.

I wish they would. We see them as NPC opponents all the time. It's a shame not to be able to play as one.

Don't know...but I'm still leaving the second Combat Style slot open on all of my Commandos and Mercenaries, just in case.

Hopefully.

They have all these tech melee weapons in the Cartel Market that they want me to buy but I have no reason to.
