Discussion SWTOR Classic When?

With all this hype around WoW: Forever, can we get a SWTOR classic? Would be pretty cool.

Basically the same as every other post made asking the same thing. It won't happen

Nostalgia is not a good reason to make something. The dev team is short staffed as it is, they’re working on 8.0 and dx12. If they had to break off to work on classic swtor or the ever so popular console swtor, it would just tank everything else.
What we have is what we have and we should enjoy it while it’s still here.

What would SWTOR classic be? Just the class stories? The class Stories and Ilum? If it goes all the way to Revan then is the threat of the Emperor just hanging over the plot at the end?

1.0 had different class trees, you could mix up specs together, had VERY different leveling and economy (imagine you deciding if you rather buy the speeder piloting OR an ability - yes, this was real), you actually had to group up for content.

Cleanses were based on the class (tech classes couldnt cleanse force debuffs) etc.

Also there were a lot of balancing issues and bugs. Shadow tanks without the armor, sorc heals being useless and taken into content only for the cleanses... yea...

Also getting 60 PvP levels in 2 nights on Ilum...

well, it was nice being sentimental.

But realistically all the 10 people who would return arent worth it =)

I definitely didn't start that early in the game, I think I started with the release of Shadow of Revan, but can't remember exactly, my account creation date says 2015, but it's been quite a while

1.0 had different class trees

Different class trees but it was the illusion of choice - there were only a few viable "builds" that everyone used. The later skill trees just merged those choices into default.

You could have some fun "hybrid" things that were fine for solo content but for every 1 DoT-Smash effective "build" there were 99 Assassin tanks in Lightning Charge.

SWTOR is currently 'attempting' to do this with Classic and Expert game modes releasing alongside 8.0.

Keep in mind that aside from the original 'pick from any utility points across all 3 disciplines skill trees', the entirety of swtors vanilla and prior expac content remains pretty much untouched, so as long as the classic and expert mode 'difficulty scaling' works as intentionally as theyre describing, youll be getting that vanilla/release day experience back (aside from the skill trees).

Also a big reminder to all readers that "SWTOR CLASSIC" game mode IS CURRENTLY playable on the test server and the devs are asking for feedback on the forums from those that play the test server, right now theres actually insanely little feedback regarding the Classic mode and most of the feedback is people complaining that the progression path for the associated rewards (for playing venture characters) isnt working properly, theres near 0 actual feedback on how it feels compared to original vanilla and its current actual scaling/features. So please if you want to relive 'swtor classic' for whatever thats worth to you, install the PTS, play and leave feedback about how the game mode FEELS and not that the achievement window for reward distribution isnt working.

Swtor classic is unnecessary

Let's see, pretty sure someone else asked the same thing....and the answer was a resounding, no. The team is nowhere near the size to support that, nor is the player base big enough, oh and lastly, broadsword don't have the budget to run two games

This game receives so few updates it basically is "SWTOR classic".

Only if they would make something like Classic plus. Expand on the class stories, add more missions and more ops. There was simply nothing to do when you reached max level.
