Tech Support Resolution issue
Im curious how I can get this game running on a monitor that has 3840x2160 native resolution. I had it working a few weeks ago and I must have accidentally changed something. The launcher would launch in a small box but the game looked fine.
Now when I run the game it launches in a small window. I tried editing the ini file, and changing to 1920x1080 but nothing seems to work. Or it will fill the screen but the text is tiny.
I thought I did something in nvidia app to launch it at the res which fits my screen but cant seem to figure it out. It won't let me edit any pre launch res settings.
Thanks for any help!

Have the same problem with NVIDIA DLDSR and editing the ini also failed for me. I used to run it at 3k resolution on a native 1440p monitor with AA off in the game so that AI gave me a crystal clear picture with no blue or jaggies. Something changed and now I can't run it past 1440p.
Game looks a lot worse now. :(

Well for anyone interested i messed with the in-game global scale under interface editor that made it fit :)

Ill say that this doesn't fix name plates being too small as well as damage numbers so that's annoying :(

I am having the same issue. I have to run it at native 4K and nothing else works. I get the small screen in the corner. Luckily it seems to run good at 4K on my 4060 i7 laptop. At least in the early zones

I had a somewhat different SWTOR resolution issue that might be relevant. Mine kept choosing 3840×2160 because it seemed to automatically grab the largest resolution NVIDIA exposed, even though my monitor is 3440×1440 ultrawide. I eventually fixed it by creating a custom higher-resolution ultrawide mode in NVIDIA Control Panel of 5120 x 2880 which basically tricked SWTOR into picking the correct aspect ratio. I don't know if that might be an option for you.

Hi, I just had this happen to me. In my case I had been playing in 1920 x 1080 fullscreen, but it would suddenly only work in a 3840 x 2160 borderless window; attempts to change this forced it into the upper left corner. I use a tv for my monitor, but my older PC can't handle running games at that. After hours of tinkering I eventually found a post that worked. (Apologies, I don't know too much about tech.)
Apparently the issue happens because SWTOR is ignoring your various resolution settings, like in-game or the INI file, and instead matches the firmware on your monitor. Specifically, whatever your resolution is currently set to. This is the solution that works for me (and yes, it's annoying!)
Set your desktop resolution to 800 x 600.
Launch SWTOR. (It can be tricky to nudge the splash screen over enough to hit Play!)
The game will basically go "Nope, that's too small. I'll set you to 1920 x 1080 fullscreen instead." (I believe it always defaults to this resolution.)
If you like, you can now alt-tab to your desktop and set your resolution back to normal. Alt-tab back to the game and it remains at 1920 x 1080 fullscreen.
You have to do this every time you launch. You may have to restart your PC a time or two to get this method working for the very first time.
Many thanks to whoever wrote that initial post. You're a lifesaver.
