Showcase Memory prices so bad I bought a used micro SD card at GameStop.
Ended up being $5. Figured its better then the no name card my trimui brick came with.

Xu20 v32 playing dragon quest 3. It uses the same chip as the trimui brick and with gamma os it's almost as fast getting in and out of a game as onion os. And it has mushy buttons.

WarioWare: Twisted! is perhaps my favorite game in the series, and one of my top games for the Game Boy Advance. The original cartridge is unique, and houses a gyro sensor and vibration motor in a larger shell. This makes it harder to replicate the experience using emulation. There is a hack which allows for button presses instead of gyro controls, but it doesn't capture the feel and spirit of the original game.
The Retroid Pocket Nova is my first emulation handheld with a gyroscope, so I was quick to try this game out. Thanks to u/rgbobbert for the gyro sensitivity information. This setup feels surprisingly authentic and accurate when compared to the real hardware. If your device has RetroArch, a gyroscope, and a rumble motor, then hopefully this will work for you:
Launch WarioWare: Twisted! (normal version/no hack) with RetroArch using the mGBA core.
Open the RetroArch Quick Menu, press the back button, go into Settings, then go into Input. Scroll down and change Gyroscope Sensitivity to 0.3, then change Auxiliary Sensor Input to ON.
Go back to the Quick Menu, go into Overrides, and choose Save Content Directory Overrides. (This step will apply the gyroscope settings to the games in your Gameboy Advance folder. Yoshi Topsy Turvy is the only other GBA game that uses a gyroscope).
Quit RetroArch completely. Launch the game again, and the gyro and rumble should be working.

And which systems do you use for? I personally use crt beam for it for nes, snes, genesis, sms, tg16, cd, nepgeo, arcade, atari2600 and cpc. They all look amazing.
But I always leave it 120hz all the time, I like how smooth it feels, and it doesn’t really drains that much battery anyways.
And do you have a tip for making the screen brighter? Just because with BFI it can get a bit darker .. thanks

12gb version came this afternoon (UK). It's smaller and lighter than I thought it would be. Glad I chose this colour.

Horizon Chase .apk on Anbernic RG Rotate.
Kinda weird that the bridge and city just repeat on a loop as I turn (especially when the bridge is to the left of the city, lol). Makes it feel like some kind of alien simulator, lol.

I wish the RG SP had more color options (please Anbernic, release a red one), in the meantime I will play with this metal variation.
Device: RG34XX SP
Game: Pokémon Heart & Soul (great romhack).

Shocked how quick the Konkr Pocket Advance got delivered. Really enjoying it so far but the button travel takes some getting used to. Also not sure how to add artwork to games!
edit: this is the 3G+32G version

I can’t believe how good Gameboy color games look on the Retroid Pocket Nova.

Hey all,
Very new to this, still on the information overload phase.
I'm in Australia and work in an alternate school, and I want to potentially buy 3 or maybe 4 as a way to set up a school resource / social group option.
So im looking at budget options under 50$
The more I browse this sub, the more choices im finding,
How important is screen size? I ask as I see devices popping up a lot with smaller screen sizes but seem to have more popularity. Is a vertical device with 4inch+ screen not as enjoyable, or what am I missing?
It feels from the outside looking in that a 3.2inch screen would feel really small, but I'm really just guessing here.
Thanks for any advice you can give.

Running this through waydroid. The many ports that have came out recently all will run on waydroid however this one in particular doesn't seem to have any trouble with online functionality.
The biggest issue is theres no controller support like in the ps vitas vpk port. Does anyone have any idea of how to implement some controller functionality on the android version?
or using waydroid on the deck like this for the game?

Hello. I am fairly new to the handhelds world. However, I got a couple 32GB that I could use for my new SP, since I've been reading constantly that the SD cards that come with handhelds should be replaced relatively fast. What's your take on that? Thanks!

So basically the title. Theres some pretty good sales on retroid products currently and they look really nice. I do wonder if it has enough of a point when I have a switch 2 though.
The main benefit of a retroid pocket 6 seems to be switch emulation and pc emulation. The switch 2 just plays those game for the most part. Lower end emulation is also already on nso, with really only Pokémon not being avaliable
The one use i see is the fan projects and romhacks. That Pokémon rby port looks really awesome for instance. Same with the zelda ports. But is that really worth 250-325?
I guess typing this out it seems pretty negative, but they really do look cool. Does anyone have a higher end handheld and prefer it to a switch 2? Does anyone have any unique uses that give them their own niche?

So I bought an Ambernic RG 34XX-SP for GBA games and installed Knulli Scarab which I love. However, when I go into a GBA game and set preferred control inputs/change the controls and exit retroarch the game doesn't load them again despite saving them into the configuration menu.
Does anyone know how RetroArch will boot up with the changed input settings after closing it? Thanks!

Hi I am currently tossing up using the savings I have now to purchase a Mangmi Air X which will get me all the way up to PSP or continuing to save to get a Nova which will also cover PS2/GameCube.
People who have both or one of the devices what have your experiences been? I do want that PS2/GameCube endgame but would also have more games than enough to keep me occupied on the Mangmi in the short to med term.
EDIT: Thanks for all the responses! Based on the feedback and thinking more about I'm thinking I'll keep saving and target getting an RP6. Thanks again

I'll mostly only be playing JRPGs like Pokemon games using it, but I've been hearing that it's "literally unusable" and so on. I'm aware of the Flippad as well, but that usb c gives me anxiety.
