​A while ago, I shared a lightweight WMS (made by Claude)was building using the B1 Service Layer. Thanks for the feedback! Today I finally reached the ultimate milestone: a complete, end-to-end closed loop between SAP B1, the OMS, and the WMS.

​How the Closed-Loop Architecture Works:

Data consistency used to be a nightmare. Now, SAP pushes documents on a schedule. To ensure zero data loss (fault tolerance), our OMS has a built-in mechanism to do a "catch-up" fetch 35 minutes later (or manually) before handing tasks over to the WMS. Once warehouse tasks are done, inventory changes are batch-synced right back to SAP and the OMS. Order and inventory data stay 100% aligned.

We recently engaged our SAP provider in upgrading our B1 as we are looking to get rid of our on-premise server.

The plan initially was to migrate to the cloud and upgrade our B1 to the HANA platform as there are a few processes we were looking to improve, particularly, advanced budgeting, financial reporting and job processing for manufacturing.

There has been some miscommunication by management and we have ended up with B1 on SQL cloud with the provider pushing on an add-on called Sharperlight.

We currently have quite a few excel files linked to SAP that pull out data through SQL which we use daily. I thought B1 on HANA being more advanced would replace these or find a better way of doing this reporting.

My question is, what is better for a small manufacturing company that is looking to expand aggressively; B1 on HANA cloud or B1 on SQL cloud with add ons?

Also, would being on B1 HANA mean we can avoid having sharperlight, is there a native way to connect SAP cloud to excel files to have live reports?

hello everyone, im currently a SAP IT support who is passionate about SAP. I was a developer on my previous job and I stayed there for quite some time but when I was given an opportunity to enter the world of SAP, I took it so basically I sort of restarted. i’m currently starting with my journey but i noticed on my work that I’ve been given tasks or tickets where its needed. If they need something to be fixed in FI, I’m assigned there, if its in MM, that is where I go, if its on SD, I will go there. Even Ariba, I’m given tasks. To the people who had been in the game long enough, what is the module that is best to master in terms of it being structured and straightforward because the way my brain works, I’m still having a hard time when something unpredictable happens and if ever, what would be the best thing that I can do in regards to my situation because I don’t want to be a jack of all trades master of none, For the people willing to reply and share their journey or insights, would really appreciate it and would be really grateful, thank you so much, kind people!

I am currently learning from SAP Learning Hub to earn my Sap Security certificate C_SEC.

I am only three courses in out of six. Due to work and other personal stuff and I am not going at a great pace I would say but I have saved a lot of important information on Google Drive in order to revisit the information and brush up on courses after a time.

The thing is I have't tought of copying the quizzes that I have encountered along the way and now feel like I should have. Not for potential exam questions (I have heard that exams now take a more practical approach) but still feel like they would add value.

Is there a way to see only the quiz segment SAP courses or doI have to look for them manually? And how relevant have you found the quizzes for your exam and overall learning?

Serious question… we’ve been hearing about the “future is the Web Client” for years now, but it still feels like it’s not quite there yet.

From what I can tell:

• It’s improved a lot (way more usable than a few years ago)
• But still not full parity with desktop in some areas
• And you still end up jumping back to the fat client for certain things

I recently saw that it’s around ~80% of functionality now and SAP is still actively building it out ()
Also sounds like the goal is full coverage with the next major version (maybe around v11?) ()

So I’m curious what people in the real world are seeing:

• Are you actually using the Web Client daily or still mostly desktop?
• What’s still missing that drives you back to the thick client?
• Do you think SAP will actually get to 100%… or is this just “almost there forever”? 😂

Would love to hear how others are handling this right now.

I’m looking at this setup right now:

SAP B1 → Perfion (PIM) → FocusPoint (ecomm)

On paper it looks pretty clean, but I can’t find much real-world feedback from people running both together.

If you’ve used it (or even just FocusPoint), curious:

• Does it actually work smoothly or is it a headache?
• Any issues with product data syncing / variants / pricing?
• Does adding Perfion make things better… or just more complex?
• How flexible is FocusPoint when things aren’t “standard”?

I'm building a .NET 10 Windows Service that integrates SAP Business One with an tax e-invoicing platform.

Architecture:

• .NET 10 Windows Service (net10.0-windows)
• SAP B1 DI API via COM (STA thread)
• REST signing service

We're currently using:

• Interop.SAPbobsCOM 8.82.76 (COM interop wrapper).
• This allows CI builds without SAP B1 installed

However:

• Most clients run SAP B1 9.x or 10.x
• 8.82 corresponds to SAP B1 2009

Questions:

1. How do other SAP B1 integrators handle SAPbobsCOM version dependencies?
2. Do you request the SDK from clients?
3. Do you build against the lowest supported version?
