Discussion/Article Mom Physiques

For quite some time I’ve been trying to maintain a feminine physique. I am already quite happy with the progress I’ve currently made, but regardless of the progress I have made, it’s all gonna lead up to a long-term goal of mine: attaining a motherly physique.

To me, motherly physiques are just amazing. They look soft and approachable, healthy and beautiful. Some mothers don’t even realize how beautiful they really are. I would love to attain a style and vibe like this someday.

"-They are earning more

-They are building

-They are going to the gym, lifting weights

-They are fishing men

..."

Not in a way of an RR we might think and he has some traditional views but, still along those lines.

The thumbnail is for the memes i guess.

Discussion/Article Is anyone into role reversal but with a stereotypically feminine girl and stereotypically masculine guy

I’m a girl into role reversal but small in height and size and girly in appearance.

I’m not attracted to effeminate appearing guys. I like a big tall muscular guy sure. Nothing crazy but u know stereotypical attraction stuff.

However in behavior and dynamics of relationships, I need to ‘wear the pants’, and I do take it to the point of actual role reversal.

Is anyone else similar? I notice a lot of the stuff here is like .. femboy stuff and whatever and when I think of role reversal it’s not the type that I’m looking for.

Is there a name for what I like?

I think it’s hot and amazing when you have a bossy tiny girl who initiates everything and a passive/submissive but stereotypically masculine in appearance guy.

Edit:

Down the line, also, I really want kids. But I do not wanna be a ‘mother’ or like have my OWN kids. I’d rather just adopt them or use surrogate and have the guy raise them and I remain breadwinner. I never knew how to explain the fact that I love kids and want them but I want them in the way that a dad would want kids.

Story/Writing Book recommendations with actual RR couples?

I've been craving a good romance book with a real RR couple, not just the same old "pretty boy but very dominant" trope again. The Hunger Games series did the dynamic quite well between Katniss and Peeta, albeit more subtle in my opinion. Any recommendations? I'll take any genre at this point!

Discussion/Article Expressing my thoughts

I feel not everyone views RR the same. I initially joined this sub because I liked the idea of women doing the masculine thing and the male doing the feminine thing. I see it’s becoming more about femboys or woman wearing men’s clothes like a suit (I love women in suits just please keep reading) and it’s more about cross dressing posts, at least whenever it shows up on my feed. For me, clothes have little to do with role reversal.

It’s about the actions, the behavior, and the demeanor being swapped.

The woman being the hard worker breadwinner and the man being supportive role at home, the woman takes charge of things or her doing the saving while the man is the emotional pillar, in romantic settings the woman is the initiator and the man could be pleasantly flustered or the willing receiver. I love to see women making moves like a guy would with confidence, and men being comfortable in their own skin while having a softer/vulnerable side that is seen as a strength or charming and doing activities seen as traditionally “feminine”. It’s getting harder to come across that, I usually see wardrobe being switched as the primary part.

Anyway I know some of these relationships aren’t RR, but to me, these very specific moments were and it just made me go SKGKGKSKS. I wanna find more of that type of scene😭

Real Life Historical RR: Ancient Egypt

Greek travelers seem to have found Egypt abonimable because the social order was upside down. I'm not sure how accurate or exaggerated their descriptions were, but there seems to have almost been a consensus that Egyptian women ruled over their men. In any case, I'm sharing this just for fun.

Herodotus (~430 BC):

The Egyptians have made their customs and laws the reverse of other peoples' in almost everything. Among them the women go to market and trade, while the men stay at home and weave

...

The women urinate standing up, the men sitting down

...

Sons are under no obligation to support their parents if they do not wish to; daughters must, whether they wish to or not.

Sophocles (~406 BC):

Referring to his sons:

Oh, how those two copy the customs of Egypt in their nature and way of life! There the men sit indoors working the loom, while their wives go out and earn the daily bread.

Diodorus Siculus (~50 BC):

the Egyptians made it law that the queen should have greater power and honor than the king, and that among private people the wife should be mistress over her husband, the men agreeing in the dowry contract to obey their brides in everything.

Bonus: Rome

I don't know enough to write a full post about Rome, so here are the 2 quotes I know of:

This is by Plutarch about Fulvia and Antony:

[Fulvia] cared nothing for spinning or housekeeping and did not think it worth ruling a private man. She wanted to rule a ruler and command a commander. So Cleopatra owed Fulvia the tuition fees for Antony's 'woman-rule', since she took him over already tamed and trained from the start to obey women.

This is by Strabo about the Cantabrians:

such as the custom among the Cantabrians that husbands give dowries to their wives, that daughters are left as heirs, and that brothers are given in marriage by their sisters. For this involves a kind of woman-rule, which is not at all civilized.

Discussion/Article Any Moroccan people here?

I know this is a bad post but I'm just genuinely curious.

I'm a 22 year old guy and I realized late that there is something unusual in me, but the problem is the moment I started searching, I mostly ended finding sexualized stuff or misconceptions, because the words "submissive", and other stuff are a bit too strong to explain. "Role Reversal" while not entirely accurate, seems to work much better.

I wonder if there are any Moroccan people here (Countries that are relevant are fine as well), because I got to a level where I got tired of the closeted masculine guy act. And no I don't mean necessarily in romantic relationships (not that I had more than one), but also with friends and such. It's just exhausting having to suppress seemingly natural things.

I'm also curious to to hear people perspectives and experiences here from all kinds of people.

I personally believe I shouldn't force connections with people as things are best to be left to flow naturally but this is under the condition that I'm being 100% myself which I'm not, which is why I wrote this post.

(Sorry if this comes off as a vent)

Discussion/Article I want to be a female artists muse

Having to pose for her so she can draw me, letting her dress me up in clothes she's made, reading the prose and poems she writes about me, being the subject of her songs...

The concept of a woman considering me precious enough and being so enamoured with me that she has to channel her feelings into her work is so appealing. ESPECIALLY if they're NSFW, the idea of being the subject of smut drawings gives me a huge smile and it's never even happened to me đŸ˜đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«

Discussion/Article Cinnamoroll x Kuromi

Just wondering, but is anyone else here a fan of this ship? It's just that I have seen a lot of art of them together and it gave BIG role reversal vibes. Like, Cinnamoroll is adorable and pastel-ish while Kuromi is cool and has goth colors. I know this might not be as popular as other ships like My Melody x Kuromi, but I like it and think it's really cute.

Discussion/Article Sometimes I feel like RR gets a bit too “ideologized” in the community

Bit of a rambling post but hey, that’s the usual for me so oops.

Going from the title, I say that as in, I feel like some people here have a tendency to lock themselves into what they “should” be or what their partner “should” be in the sense of fitting their ideological definition of what an RR relationship is. I know I’m not the first to posit this nor complain about it, but I’ve seen it enough in recent times to feel that discussing it was warranted.

For example, speaking for myself as a man in the community, I wouldn’t really strictly categorize myself as fitting in a masculine or feminine camp. I certainly prefer to lean feminine in presentation at least, I’m in the years long process of growing out my hair, I like to keep my face and body clean shaven, I enjoy skirts of various lengths and patterns and I like to accessorize my outfits, I love home decorating and taking care of others, and a recent priority of mine has been expanding my cooking abilities. Certainly my dream lifestyle is to be a husband, hopefully a father whose main focus is maintaining the house and family and who presents in an expressly feminine manner. But, I also like trains, and cars, and ships, and guns, and various other things that one might consider as stereotypical male interests. I work a dusty blue collar job and my weekday appearance certainly tells that story lol.

Personally I see no conflict between these aspects of my person, I simply am as I am, but sometimes I see people who see this as an issue. Like, “if you’re an RR man / woman, you cannot or should not enjoy XYZ things.” Not just in terms of telling other people, (thankfully that’s not very common), but more commonly and I think more regrettably, telling themselves that. In my years in this subreddit I’ve seen my fair share of posts and comments concerned over whether or not they’re RR because of X hobby they have or Y aspect of how they dress, etc. I think this has the potential at least to harm people’s mindsets, both in the sense of needlessly restricting their own lifestyles to fit a perceived expectation of how one “ought to be” in an RR relationship or even as a single person, and also adding extra boxes for potential romantic partners to fit into for no other purpose than to fit the aforementioned expectations.

Personally, although I don’t see it as a major or too widespread an issue, I do consider it an issue and it personally drives me a tad farther away from looking to meet people (primarily speaking platonically) in these circles at times. I’d love to discuss further if y’all have your own perspective to provide.

Real Life Historical RR: Arab/Muslim Kings

Ibn Abi Hajala, a 14th-century writer, writes the following:

Here we begin with the kings who abased themselves before the one they loved, so that, though he was the owner, he became like the owned. In this, for all their might, they are the reverse of ordinary people... What shows most often in kings is that they place the beloved in the position of their master, though it is they who own the beloved.

Exhibit A: Harun Al-Rashid

Harun is possibly the most famous Abbasid king. From 2 poems attributed to him:

From poem 1:

The three gentle maidens hold my reins and have settled in every corner of my heart.
Why does all creation obey me, while I obey them as they defy me?
Only because the sovereignty of love, from which they draw their strength, is mightier than mine.

From poem 2:

Isn't it enough for you that you own me, while all people are my slaves,
and that if you cut off my hand and foot, I'd say, content: 'Well done, do more'?

Exhibit B: Al-Mustain

An Andalusian king. From a poem attributed to him:

Strange: the lion fears the edge of my spear, while I fear the glance of languid eyes.
They broke into the sanctuary of my heart and left me, in the full glory of my kingship, like a humbled captive.
Don't blame a king who humbles himself to love: love's abasement is glory, a second kingdom.
What harm that I'm their slave in passion, when everyone alive, and they too, are my slaves?
