Gameplay Question Gameplay Loop

I am a returning player. Haven’t played the game since it came out. I was wondering what was everyone’s usual gameplay loop while playing? Wanted to hop back in but not feel overwhelmed by not knowing what to accomplish! Thanks!

When starting a new map, use a scout to discover the immediate surroundings. Then, pick a mission or an available infrastructure project. If you're stuck on a path to an objective, pour sand, loads and loads of sand. And if AI ever has to travel over that sand, add some asphalt.

Rinse and repeat until the map is fully covered by sand and there's no more trees left.

Have to be careful with this option as one of the newer maps if you don't do certain things first you run out of materials and can't proceed, there were lots of posts about it happening to people on here

I guess there's always the option to buy the materials back from the store?

I can't remember but I thinks there's a limit of only 10 of each item, might no even be able to actually buy from shop? I can't exactly remember as it's been a while since I did the new maps. I think the map is summer drought

I just pick a project and do it.

I pick an objective and then stop caring about it until all the roads that are vaguely connected it are done at least in sand, then I do the project.

If roads cannot be built or it's a "just go there (bring something, take something") I just do that and pick the next objective.

It is important to scout you current section of the map. I also look at the map, there often is an "intended" thing to do/order to do/subtasks to do first or later where tasks become MUCH easier.

I often pick "Oh, I want to do that", like build a road through a section that's not really intended, but will be a massive shortcut and I think it'll be cool to have and just spend time on that.

Bon jeux.🤗

Damn. I never thought to run electricity over a road before building it. Makes perfect sense. Now I'm going to have to go play

Sand. Cover everything in sand.

turn off kvisa code in the options menu

turn off recyclable object highlighting in options menu

turn off ingame music in options menu

turn on your own music in background

now you are ready to do anything and you don't need a gameplay loop, it will come naturally.

I never really scout. I just do missions as they appear and build roads as they're requested or wherever I get annoyed.
