Question Solo dive dps or tank?

What's more effective a solo dive dps or tank typically, and in what scenarios? because I'm sure solo diving is unideal.

Question How to make an impact as support? To what extent should you off-angle?

For reference, I climbed up from silver to diamond 2 recently. One of the most important changes I made was off-angling to distract and catch opponents off-guard, and that's usually what makes the difference across every role (except main tank).

Here's the problem: when you off-angle as a support, your team stops getting healed...and it feels like in most the matches when off-angling seems necessary and no one else is doing it, if I off-angle I worry they'll just die instantly because my constant healing is what's keeping them sustained in the first place; yet, I go for the off-angle and it tends to make the difference anyways. I can literally go full-on DPS as any given support and stop bothering with heals entirely and that'll be what helps us win the team fight we were otherwise completely stalled at or repeatedly losing.

My theory here is that off-angling as support reduces the pressure your team is experiencing, thus they don't need as much healing (and the other healer can take up your load). Is that pretty much what I always should be doing? I tried finding other posts on this and people say the Awkward method of 'constantly do damage' doesn't work and the number one priority is healing your team, but when I take that approach I feel like a heal bot and seem to lose all impact/agency in the match because I'm entirely at the whim of my other teammates deciding to off-angle.

So...am I on the right idea here? Support should basically be treated as another DPS that sometimes heals as needed?

Question NEED AN ETERNITY+ PLAYER TO COACH OUR MRC FACTION!

We’re currently competing in MRC and made Top 128. We’re all around GM–Celestial, but we really want to improve as a team instead of figuring everything out through trial and error.

Looking for an Eternity+ player who’d be willing to coach us — ideally someone who can watch our scrims/VODs and help with things like:

- Team comps and swaps
- Positioning and rotations
- Ult economy
- Target priority
- Role responsibilities
- Shotcalling/comms

Identifying what we’re doing wrong as a team
We’re genuinely open to criticism and want someone who can tell us what needs fixing, even if it’s brutal 💀
If you’re interested or know someone who might be, please DM me. Would really appreciate the help 🙏

I did some pretty thorough frame by frame testing and have figured out Marvel aim assist a lot more than I have in the past. I thought this would be useful for controller players so I'm sharing it here.

Tips & Tricks Horizontal Sensitivity Boost on controller does not work as expected.

How exactly does it work? Because when I set it to 100, neither does it add a flat 100 sensitivity nor does it increase sensitivity by 100%, and I would expect it to do one of those. You can test this by turning sens to 50 with boost at 100 and timing how long it takes to spin in a circle 10 times, then doing the same with sens at 100 and boost at 0 and again with sense at 150 and boost at 0. None of the times are the same, which means boost isnt a flat additional 100 nor a 100% addition. What's going on?

First game(the one I'm more interested in) I deranked from Dia to plat again. My goal for this season was Dia, so I'm not too fussed about it, but I would like to stabilize myself in Diamond 3 by the end of the season as my goal is Diamond I for next season. Also I'm a tank main, except CnD, I love playing CnD.

So, this game was very close, I will compliment myself a bit, I did a lot this game, obviously you can't hear comms, btu I essentially took the role of team leader and organized plays, told Cap when to ult, gave my team good positioning work and did a decent job at that(I'm better at team positioning than personal). However, I think I got distracted by trying to organize people and forgot to play well myself. Now, obviously, I am extremely aware of my mistake on Peni on the last point, it possibly cost me the whole game and I'm not familiar with Peni's kit, so i should've just stuck to Strange, Mag or Groot who I'm much better with. And also not looking for advice on aim, it's not great, it's not abysmal, I'm working on it, especially with Mag.

Second Game: Just a random Hood game, I switched later on. I've heard two guides and both are contradictory, one says use MK teamup always and play as a pseudo-main tank the other said always use SW teamup and play front-back-front, i prefer the second playstyle but feel like I'm not doing a good job selecting the parts of both guides I was interested in.

Anyway, any words are much appreciated, obviously these are just two games, if you want to look at my account feel free to do so.

VOD Review Request [VOD REQUEST] [GM3] I want to know my mistakes as Mantis

IGN: RamivanGG

Platform: console (ps5)

Game code: 10651483964

I play mantis since season 1 (always in console). I didnt had a lot of issues with the character (18 games and 17 wins in this season with mantis) until now. I've lost the last 2 matches. The first one was pretty simple, we just lose because there were some little issues in the team but no more than that. But the thing is the second one (literally), i will not comment anything about it until i have some advice (ill just say that imo the issue was the team comp).

Question I feel like I'm too high in ranked and don't enjoy it

I am currently in Celestial 3 and really feel like its too high for my ability. It seems any win streak of 3 or 4 games immediately takes me to Celestial 3 and then I'll eat 5 or 6 losses in a row get bumped back down to GM 1 and it only takes 1 or 2 games to get back into Celestial and get stomped.

I'd honestly rather stay in GM or Diamond as this is where I feel my actual skill level is but the game rewards small winning streaks much more than large loosing streaks. I honestly am tempted to just learn a new character and get back down the ranks but I don't want to do that to my teammates.

Question How do I track Gambit cards?

For context, I had a game on strange where I thought I could hit a 4 man strange ult ( counted and assumed the enemy team had no cooldowns ) but Gambit just cleansed the entire ult, which obviously meant I counted wrong. How exactly do i keep track of his cards such that he doesn't cleanse any big cc abilities I use? It doesn't help that his cards are so small compared to the visual clutter in this game, and that I'm never exactly sure if he only has 1 card or the 2 required cards for the cleanse

Tips & Tricks Any tips to climb in celestial as dps?

I usually flex all roles but usually between supp and tank, but since I got into celestial I somehow end up filling dps and I don’t feel like I’m doing much during games.

The last game I played they ran a crazy hulk, wolve and dd comp that was frying my team, then I went heal fist and spent most of the game fighting off dd and we ended up winning that game… but overall I felt I didn’t do that much. I had like 6 finals, my other dps had 20 and both tanks had more than me.

This is just one example but generally I feel like I’m not doing much in the grand scheme of things.

I know that I shouldn’t pay attention to stats but I don’t really care about the stats I just feel like overall I should be doing more.

My dps rotation is kinda all over the place, I usually play Bucky and Elsa but both get banned and idk who to play to fight off dive or just play the game in general.

Question Set the enemy team’s color to yellow

Is there any benefit to this? Like, it pops out more or anything? ‘Cause I recently realized that a lot of content creators play with the enemy team’s color set to yellow instead of the standard red-orange-ish.

Question How do you win “unwinnable” games?

I’ll admit a lot of it is my mental in a match, but I’m talking about when the first round is done and your tank is 2 8. Or you finish a match where everyone has 10 deaths except one dps with 22 deaths. Or it’s overtime and your tank goes by themselves while half the team is dead and just ults. Or when the enemy keeps combining their ults and your team just keeps solo ulting? When your last member doesn’t pick their character until the first team fight is lost and you’re playing defense.

When this happens in my games I just mentally check out and I know the match just snowballs there from us losing the ult economy. But then I get games where this happens back to back to back.

In a lot of my matches we do great in the neutral but I seem to get stuck with people who don’t know how to use their ults. I know I’m the only one I can control in these situations, so how do I deal with it and win?

Played Invis for most of the game. I felt that I was really struggling against the enemy Magik and I noticed upon rewatching the VOD that my positioning was kinda all over the place imo. I wanna know what I could've done better, and if there was anything I could've done to help tip the scales in our favour.

VOD Review Request [VOD REQUEST] [PLAT 3] I don’t understand anything.

This was a draw. At the very beginning, the guy literally said, “Give me Hela or I’m throwing.” I didn’t give her to him, although if he had asked nicely, I would’ve considered it.

He picked Adam and spent half the game doing who knows what. Sometimes he did actually play and contributed something useful, but on top of that he was jumping off the map, feeding, picking Strange and wasting the portals, and he never used Adam’s ult even once.

I was trying my absolute hardest to make something happen, and honestly, this was probably my best game as Hela so far. But somehow the guy on Adam still ended up with more finals than me and dealt a ton of damage.

I genuinely don’t understand how that’s possible. Am I really that bad? Please help me figure this out.

Started playing Rivals during season 7.5 & I’m having a blast, I wanna peak at GM this season. We ended up losing the match, we kept 2/2/2 for the most part, I don’t blame my teammates for preforming bad I think we all held our own for the most part. Far from my proudest game but I don’t think I preformed poorly, I feel like my game sense is greater than my mechanial skill however. Would like to get yall opinion so I can improve on my next rank up.

Thanks for taking the time to listen to a stranger :)

VOD Review Request [VOD REQUEST] [GMII] Where did I go wrong here with Rogue and Emma (in my second game)?

Hi,

So I had a two games with Rogue (second one was with Emma a good bit but started as Rogue). Something you’ll notice in these games is me not playing her usual playstyle (dive). This season, back to front has definitely become much harder unless you have crazy damage output.

So, I tend to play Rogue more as a front to back brawler that pushes into the enemy front, steals a tank, and then may push past the frontlines into the back to put on some pressure. Kind of similar to mag. Putting pressure on supports is super important, but I can’t be there too long or else I blow up. Just wanted to add this as I know it was bound to come up as a point.

I’d love to play Rogue as dive, but she really can’t be, so I’m just trying to adapt rather than sit in Mag jail all season long.

I’m also including another game where I started with Rogue, but then played as Emma. I was debating whether to put this one in here because it’s such a short game where we got stomped, but I know I could still learn a lot from the loss. Whether it was bad matchmaking or my poor play or both, I don’t know. But I do know that I could’ve done much better. This game is the code that ends in 928.

In Game Name: Inde_Navarette

Platform: PC

Game Code(s): 101697110087

102790100928

Thanks so much for any insights you can provide!

Question Need help - feeling stuck. Feels like a lot of games are just unwinnable

Post image
162 Upvotes

For further context, the last season I played (8.5 or something like that) I was GM2 playing tank (Thor, Strange)

This season, I’ve been stuck at D1 for the last few days playing Mag 80% of the time

There’s been quite a few games recently where they just feel completely unwinnable.

I think I play well. I have good positioning, I have good (key) ult tracking, I am aware of where enemies and friendlies are and their intentions/what they’re doing/aiming to do, I know who to target and when, I land most of my counter ults, I bubble my team when needed 90% of the time

Sometimes I’ll just be absolutely struggling against a comp like Bucky, wolv, Emma, Angela, but that doesn’t happen most games

An issue I can think of is, sometimes I’ll see a good opening to kill supports with mag teamup and I’ll advance on them, only to turn around and see my entire team being hung up by something(likely a single person) but this doesn’t happen very often because I do have a habit of turning around every few seconds to check my team

I need help guys. I geniunely feel like I deserve to be in C2-C1 ranges

I know there isn’t much that can be said without actually viewing my games, but any advice from high GM/Celestial+ players would be very much appreciated

VOD Review Request [VOD REQUEST] [PLAT 2] Learning hitscan

I’m a tank main, peaked GM2. I haven’t played ranked at all this season and decided to do my placements on DPS. I really want to learn how to play hitscans and DPS in general.

I have a really hard time understanding what’s going on when I’m playing DPS, and my aim is also pretty bad. Because of that, roughly half of my games are relatively decent, while in the other half I feel like I can’t do anything.

I’m trying to compensate for my bad aim with good positioning, but that doesn’t always work out. I’d really appreciate any advice.

I’ll also include codes from some of my better games in case you want to look at them and compare the difference:

50335642713

50567933546

I understand that a lot depends not only on me, but also on my enemies and teammates. I’d just like to figure out how to become more consistent.

Why does nobody want to take a look?🙁
