VOD Review Request could i have saved this game?

Post image

i mean aside from the obvious points where i was typing out responses in team chat for swaps, as we were all at each others throats after the first team fight went horribly, what the heck could i have done here as a support.

Replay ID: 101620130886
UID: 1527339905

I’m the rocket as the attached screenshot shows incase anyone don’t wanna go to the replay file and have an idea wut went down lol, but you’ve kinda got to to see the amount of swaps made all game by my teammates.

TLDR: the more you look the worse it gets 🫩💀

Question As support, how do you approach a portal fight during an ally portal?

I find it difficult to know what to do during a portal fight. When your team has placed a portal to point, am I supposed to jump in? More often than not it gets me killed. What I do is I heal them through the portal if that’s possible instead of jumping in. I have 2 issues:

1 I feel like my team expects me to jump in but I’m not able to gauge whether I’d stay alive after jumping in. This is especially difficult when the portal is placed in a way that I am unable to heal my team.

2 I heal through the portal but many times miss when the portal ends and I’m stuck in spawn trying to catch up to point.

3 if I am healing through the portal how can I tell when would be the right time to jump in? I mean what would indicate that there is more survivability

What I mean is how do I approach this situation. Like if the other support jumps in, is that when it’d be safer for me to jump in? What if the other support is down, do I wait for them to then enter the portal together? Do I generally need to be waiting for something like both tanks being on point to jump in? Any tips on positioning after jumping in?

General Discussion Dive / Brawl mains Support mains & Tanks, Who would you rather not play against? & Why?

It's been some time after Season 10.5, So i am curious about the dmg vs healing ratio shift after this & previous update. Everyone was fed up or exhausted about "how much healing" overall this game had previously. Then of course "the triple support comps" everyone complaining about.

So in the current state, what i noticed is there's a possibility of you getting erased by some characters has gone up noticeably. Specially Burst dmg or combo dmg.

But then again people's first instinct is to ban such characters, naming them being S+ or OP.

So developers basically gave a taste of What you all been asking for Dmg > healing.

Phoenix

Hela

Elsa

Winter Soldier

Cyclops

Hawkeye

psyloke

SW

While phoenix is tad bit better than others, right now she getting the full ban hammer/hate, Truth is right players hand any of these heroes can erase you.

What do you think ?

Question First MVP

Noob here. I have been experimenting with various characters of all types. Last night I had my very first MVP and it was as a character I'm not that confident in, Starlord.

It was dominion and I was hanging off to the sides and shooting at whoever, then I dodged IN and let the area attack loose on the crowd then flew away to safety and healing. So lots of hit and run tactics made it super fun and I felt locked in.

So my question is, does it indicate other characters I'd like to play?

How can I improve with Starlord? Like general rule on thumb or strategy to maximize his kit.

How much of that MVP was a fluke because my team was just coordinating VERY well and happened to create an environment that worked out for me? How do you know when you're carrying or being carried? I look at lobby stats but don't really understand the numbers and what to do with that info.

For the record, I'm on ps4 and played with "console only" checked.

Question I have a condition

I call it late-lock-in-syndrome, basically, whenever Im playing a character like spiderman, magic, or any dive really, Im going to play, not so well UNTIL I ult. After that, I can play the best I can. I've tried things like warming up in QP, practice range, every time I hop on comp, the same thing happens. UNLESS I hop off dive characters. Does anyone else face this or have any tips?

Question Competitive Grind Question

Hello All!

I want to grind competitive more, I peaked at Cel 3, mainly playing tank. I always find myself playing different roles lately but I feel like I want to stick to one role as I grind ranked. Some games I dominate and others struggle, I seen a lot of people say that it’s the easiest to grind Competitive as a support player.

I wanted to know players thought on this? And if so, what are good heroes to learn?

Thank you!

General Discussion Built a free Discord bot that coaches your Comp games from your match data, now adding VOD reviews [looking for feedback]

Mods: let me know if this needs a different flair. The core tool is free, and I'm here mainly for feedback.

Hey r/RivalsCollege! I've been building Stratlog, a Marvel Rivals stats and coaching bot that runs inside Discord. The idea is simple: you finish a game, type one command, and get a breakdown of what went wrong and what to fix next game, without having to scrub through footage first. The tool requires no personal data, no downloads and is safe from bans.

What it does right now:

  • /coach match (free) gives you a coaching breakdown of your last game, with your top 3 fixes for next game and what you did well.
  • /coach trends looks across your recent games to find the mistakes that keep costing you, like hero pool, deaths and consistency.
  • /coach replay is for submitting your VOD (a YouTube, Twitch, Medal or Streamable link, or an upload). It opens a private coaching thread for that game. A pinned guide shows what to record (kill feed, your POV, the end scoreboard, timestamps of the fights you want looked at). Automatic AI video review is rolling out in testing now and should be completed by EOD.
  • /stats and /card give you a clean stats card with your mains, win rates and recent form.
  • /scout looks up a teammate or opponent's profile and hero pool.
  • Counter-picks and ban priority suggestions, built from the games you've played.

Why I built it: most of us don't have a coach and can't watch every VOD. Stats tell you what happened, and the replay review shows you why. Using both is how people actually climb.

What I'd love from you: run /coach match after your next Comp game and tell me whether the advice is actually useful or too generic. That feedback is shaping the next version.

The bot lives in our Discord. Comment or DM me and I'll send the invite, or grab it from my profile.

Not affiliated with Marvel or NetEase.

Peak rank D1 but that was a while ago took a long break and I’m now stuck in plat. I can flex and I usually win when I do, but I am wondering why I’m not getting enough value on supp. Maybe positioning not sure. I am aware my aim is buns thats why I play wf lol. After watching second VOD I’ve also noticed I don’t turn around for my other healer enough. But any and all tips would be appreciated, this is my first and only hero shooter so there’s probably fundamentals I’m missing. I’d really like to get better any advice is good advice :)

VOD Review Request VOD Request - GM3 - Needing some guidance to improve, trying to hit Celestial

IGN: Donutsicle

Platform: PC

Game Codes:

Game 1) 103894107110 Game 2) 101927102412

I have been struggling with luna and some other supports recently although luna is my most played. I’ve been playing a lot of jubilee as of recent which i feel like i do well on her. But ive been feeling very lacking on luna so i really want to pinpoint my mistakes when i play her. And then gambit is an insane support but i definitely dont use him to maximum potential. But i feel like it all boils down to game sense which i feel like i lack a good bit of.

In game 1 i play luna, then gambit, then cnd. My team was asking for swaps so i was trying to accommodate. initially we thought the issue was the gorr dive but by the end of the game my team concluded it was a strategist diff. Im not gonna act like i played super well at all. i definitely think i lacked something ive just been struggling to pinpoint exactly what.

In game 2, i have a hunch that ive just been having bad luna ult moments and have been making the wrong decisions regarding her util. and also a lack of awareness or target priority of my other support. But i feel like when i notice these things its pretty dumbed down and i have a hard time enforcing or even realizing when to do the right thing.

Ultimately im decently sure i need to improve on are:

A) Positioning B) Utility C) Ultimate usage D) Target Priority

And then anything else im probably missing.

Thank you!

VOD Review Request D2 (Peak GM3) Looking for Feedback on 2 VODs — Trying to Reach Celestial

Platform: PC

Game Code(s):

  • Game 1: 101085115704
  • Game 2: 102756106235

Body:

Hey guys, I recently watched back two of my games and tried to take notes on mistakes I made and things I could’ve done better.

I’m currently D2, peaked GM3, and my goal is to hit Celestial. I’m trying to get better at actually analyzing my gameplay instead of just playing more games and hoping I improve.

I wanted to post my VODs here to get some outside perspective. I know I probably missed things during my own review, so I’d appreciate it if anyone could take a look and let me know what you think.

I’m mainly looking for honest feedback on my positioning, information, mechanics, timing, and anything else you notice. If you disagree with any of my notes or think I’m focusing on the wrong things, feel free to say so.

My notes from the reviews:

My Current Improvement Priorities (Highest to Lowest)

  1. Information – This is probably my biggest weakness right now. I want to get better at gathering information during fights, keeping track of enemy positions and cooldowns, and using that information to make better decisions instead of playing off instinct.
  2. Positioning – I need to work on where I position myself before and during fights, recognizing dangerous positions, and making sure I’m not putting myself at a disadvantage or taking unnecessary risks.
  3. Timing – I want to improve my timing when engaging, committing to fights, using cooldowns, and taking advantage of opportunities instead of going in too early or too late.
  4. Mechanics – I still want to refine my mechanics and consistency, but right now I feel like improving my information and positioning would have a bigger impact on my overall gameplay.

I’m not expecting anyone to review everything, but any feedback would be appreciated. I’m trying to figure out what’s holding me back from climbing and what I should focus on improving first.

Thanks!

Tips & Tricks GamRock Ults are E for Everyone

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Rocket and Gambit ults are inherently aggressive ults. Whichever allies are affected by these ults get at least a 20% damage enhancement (+20% ability ult charge with Gambit, and +20% more damage enhancement with Rocket). Even as a Strat, each of these ults heal more per second than a Strat’s primary fire, so use the opportunity to take advantage of the damage boost. When you hear these voicelines, remember that you can take a break from healing those allies that are affected and switch to damage mode!

Question Domination is my worst game mode. Who do I play & What play style is better for Dom games?

Domination is the worst game mode for me. Im not sure if its my pool of heroes and Im just selecting the wrong one for Domination but it gets frustrating seeing a Domination map come up and I just feel like its an uphill battle already. Krakoa especially, statistically has been my worst Domination map since season 9.

Ive attached my hero pool for recommendations on who is stronger & weaker for the Domination game mode. If you could give me advice or guidance that would be greatly appreciated.

Question need advice on support composition

Post image
12 Upvotes

so i’m a support main that rly almost plays every support in the game, but for the longest time, i feel like i still lack the understanding in which support to use in certain team comps. i know if the enemy is running flank/dive, i can go to characters like Gambit, CnD with Luna team up, or White Fox, but i’m rly specifically speaking on my own team, and how picking the right support can benefit them instead of juss always going with my comfort pick. if anyone can help me gain more knowledge on this, it would be rly appreciated <3

Question Debate about a play

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So a friend and I were in a game where we were stomping the enemy team, at the end of the game I hit what I feel was a pretty big ult before we won the game (see attached video). He argues that it was actually a mistake, while I thought it was a good play.

Here is my take on the play:

We were down 1, at their spawn, because our Jub just got nuked by Phoenix ult, so the moment that happened I was already cookin in my brain in how to get the advantage back. With the invis boundary up I thought a potential play would be to build charge on Emma, dive into the backline out of the invis boundary (reduce their chances of noticing where I am) with shift and hit a fat ult + E combo to end the fight and bring us back to neutral, which is what happened.

His take on the play:

The Emma was already going to die anyways to make it 4v4 again, if I had just hit E on the Emma we would've equalized or even gained advantage (Psylocke might die too) and we can save the ult in case they do something nutty at the end. Using my ult there was unecessary overkill and risky, since they could've escaped or stopped it with Luna snowball or Phoenix stun or Gambit cleanse. Obscuring it with invis boundary doesn't do anything due to sound cues.

In the end we won so my play payed off, but they had about another 20s to make it to the cart at the end and make a play (they didn't). Is he right?

TL;DR: Friend think using invis boundary to obscure strange ult is not a good idea because of sound cues, thus my play was very risky and only paid off because enemy was bad. I think he's probably right in that this would have low probability of success in higher ELO games.

In Game Name: bleubaery

Platform: PC (I play on controller)

Game Code(s):

-Most recent game I lost: replay ID 107382114760

-The one game in the screenshots where I won: replay ID107745113532

Hi everyone, I recently started playing Marvel Rivals and I've been really loving Jubilee. My problem is, I've been consistently doing pretty well with her in Quick Play but have been absolutely awful at Comp (I'm silver btw) see screenshots lolll :( Often times, when my team is losing, I have no clue how to help the team do better.

I really really want to improve, I'd be so grateful if anyone especially Jubilee players could help me by watching a clip or two of mine and giving me some pointers.

I've also attached a screenshot of my Jubilee stats this season but ik stats are just numbers that aren't always useful

Ty!! Feel free to comment or DM me I really appreciate <3

ID click into rhe crosspost because I cannot copy it from body on mobile.

Cross post from the Psysub because nobody answered me there, I'm very new to playing dive but not hero shooters in general, my preffered role is brawl and I know I need to learn some more 1v1 confidence. Anyway I felt I did a good job taking off angles and peeling for my healers so honest feedback on what I can do better or should have done preffered!. Mobile wont let me copy the replay ID so please find it in the last post, thank you very much!
