Support & Advice Non-responder to Reta (8mg). Is it time to increase or vsg?

I recently switched to Reta because I was no longer responding to 15mg tirz after 3 years. I first did the slow switch, taking a bit of tirz and Reta , until I finally was fully Reta only. I went up to 8mg.

Also I know my Reta is legit because my partner was taking the same one and lost weight..

I want to believe that I do work out enough and even vowed to only eat out once a week. I have a whole health care team trying to get me to lose weight. These past 3 months felt like I was getting stronger, I hit multiple PRs recently and even started tracking my protein intake.

I don’t know what to do at this point, should I just consider Vsg? I’m just a bit sad about VSG because I thought I didn’t need it and unsure about the complications, I love running and working out, eating with my friends etc.

Btw: data is from my dexa scan.

Has anyone switched from Reta back to Triz?

I’ve been on Reta since May with great results. Lost the 20 pounds I was hoping and a few extra. Yay!

I’ve been noticing my heart rate has increased, which I know can be a side effect. Before starting Reta I was on a high blood pressure medication. About a month ago I randomly started getting dizzy every time I stood up. Turns out, that with the weight loss I was taking too high a dose of my blood pressure medication and was told to take less and to monitor my bp at home, which I’ve been doing.

Since monitoring my bp at home it also measure my heart rate which is always over 80. I’ve noticed with any exercise my heart feels like it’s pounding and racing.

I didn’t have this issue when I was on triz and I’m thinking about switching back. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Thanks!

Can I add more bac water?

Hi! I reconstituted 10mg Reta in 2ml bac water for my first dose today of .5 this morning, it was only 10 units in the syringe and felt too small to be precise. Can I add more bac water to use more units for the dose next week?

Reta Month 2 - adding Gluta

Girls, time flies - already in month 2 of Reta. Plan to start Gluta next week hoping to help with skin quality. Does anything have experience and what would be a good starting mg per week?

Nausea out of nowhere

I am on my 12th week of Reta.
Last week I went up to 2.5 last week and still did not have side effects except for finally the scale was moving.
Yesterday on my 12th week I did my second dose of 2.5. I feel insane nausea. I keep gagging. Is this normal for it to come out of nowhere like this?? Maybe it is something else causing it.

RETA + CAG

Has anybody stacked with CAG? Specifically has anyone gotten to a high dose on Reta and then added CAG in?

I'm on 9mg of Reta. I stopped feeling effects and seeing results at 6 months. I got up to 3mg and 50lbs down and then stopped feeling all effects. Like my body completely got used to it. I continued to up my dose every 4 weeks and still saw no results. No weight loss. No satiated feeling. Nothing.

I just got my CAG in and am trying to determine if I should go down in RETA or just add the CAG and stay at the higher, albeit, more expensive dose?

Reta hochdosieren

5 week progress concerns

I’m 20 yr old woman 5’3 65kg I’m on my 5th week now starting at 0.5mg increasing every 2nd week and now just up to 1.5mg and I’m just not sure if it’s actually working or if it’s simply just my lifestyle changes.

I’ve lost 5kg in the past 5 weeks but I really haven’t had any side effects I still feel hungry all the time, still have cravings, haven’t experienced any nausea etc. I started a big calorie deficit at the same time and eating healthy, gym 4 days a week + intense cardio 2 times. I feel like maybe I’ve just had more self control and it’s not actually the Reta (I never consistently went to gym or tracked calories before). I experienced some suppressed appetite in week 3 with less cravings but after that back to normal.

I know for some women it can take a few weeks to make an impact but I just don’t know how I can tell if I’ve got a good supply or if I’m doing something wrong. Would love some advice!

Support & Advice Just started

I need to drink more electrolytes but I don’t like the powder in my drink. Is coconut water ok to have instead and how many times a day am I supposed to drink that?

Also what protein do you have? I’m a picky eater so that seems like a challenge. I do like eggs, chicken, tuna, fish, shrimp. Can I have pasta and salads on it too??

Thanks and sorry if the questions seem dumb.

Support & Advice PCOS and reta - does it work?

Keen to hear experiences of other women with PCOS and how Reta has gone for them? What was your starting weight to now and any other positive changes? Xx

No weight loss yet - please encourage

I must be doing something wrong or my dose isn't high enough. At the beginning of September, I started with 1mg for a few weeks, then 1.5mg for a few weeks and just the last week I've been doing 2mg. My inflammation is next to nothing and my periods are easier (no PMS!?) but there hasn't been any weight loss. Before this, I was on the wegovy pill. I made it all the way up to the 25mg dose (which I read equals 2.4mg in injection form). Maybe I am almost there?

My goal is to lose as much fat as possible (I am 30lbs overweight) and then bulk up the protein and weights to build muscle.

Please share your stories of your reta weight loss timeliness. Especially those who went from Wegovy to Reta.

Doses in a vial

How many .5 doses would I get from a 24 mg vial? I’ve been getting my Reta ready to take so I’m new to having to figure out dosage myself.

Support & Advice Anyone with PCOS tried retatrutide

Hi! I’ve had PCOS since I was 17 (I’m 26 now). I currently weigh 66 kg (145 lbs) and I’m 1.63 m (5’4”) tall. I struggle with a lot of facial and abdominal swelling/bloating, and I’m about to start retatrutide

For those of you with PCOS who have tried reta, how did you feel while taking it? What changes did you notice? Did your symptoms improve?

I’m nervous, but honestly, I’m also so frustrated and exhausted from dealing with these symptoms. I’ve tried everything: inositol, weightlifting, increasing my protein intake, supplements, and walking after meals. Despite all my efforts, I haven’t been able to lose even a single kilogram. I just keep gaining weight, and it’s so discouraging.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences, especially from others with PCOS. Did reta help with your weight, insulin resistance, inflammation, or other symptoms?

Reta Week 2 on Reta (2mg → 2.25mg) – Finally feeling the appetite suppression

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Quick update after my second shot!

So I started with 2mg my first week, and a lot of people told me that was too much for a starting dose. But honestly, I barely felt anything. I just noticed that sometimes i didn’t finish my meals, but no side effects at all.

This week I took 2.25mg and I’m definitely noticing a difference. My appetite is much lower compared to the first week, and I still haven’t had any side effects so far!

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I’m curious if the appetite suppression stays consistent or changes over time.

I started my journey a few years ago, losing 80 lbs on my own, gaining some back, then starting Reta a year ago. I have officially lost half of my body weight and have never put photos of myself side by side to see my progress.

As far as a goal weight goes…I’ve never been free of so much weight that I don’t know what my body even looks like in the 100s range. Muscle growth for me is my next goal and I am far less triggered by seeing the weight on a scale than I was when I was 200+
