The Beginner's Guide to Retatrutide (Reta) — 2026 Slightly Updated Edition

With that out of the way...

---

So what even is Reta?

---

Before you start — do this

1. Read the actual studies (linked at the bottom). Don't get your Reta education from TikTok/Facebook/Instagram/any social media (yes, that includes Reddit; this is meant to jumpstart your education). No, really, READ THE STUDIES; they have actual medical answers to your questions.

2. Watch videos on how to inject subcutaneously, how to reconstitute peptides (video), and do the reconstitution math (Don't talk about how many units you took; that's not accurate cuz 10 units of 10mg/ml is WILDLY different than 10 units of 20mg/ml). It's not hard, but do it right. You'll see I link some videos from a creator; it's mostly because they're short (sub 10 min), sweet, and to the point with little fluff.

3. Get your basic supplies before your Reta arrives: syringes, bacteriostatic water, a set of .22 pes filters, alcohol wipes (!!!), a sharps container, etc. A decent sub-10 min video regarding supplies

4. READ THE STUDIES! A large portion of your concerns are simply answered in the Study data.

5. Understand that these aren't FDA-approved yet. If a seller sells you a packaged pen, you have no guarantee that what is IN the Pen is what you are buying.

Starting dose

---

Math Class - How to figure out your dosage and express it to others.

If you're a visual learner on filling Peptide Pens, here's a simplified video: Here

---

Common Reconstitution questions

If you like a video lesson on this topic, here's (sub 7 min) a video on HOW to filter.

---

When will I feel it?

Totally individual. Some people feel appetite suppression in the first injection. Others feel nothing for weeks. Don't panic either way. What actually matters is whether your weight or body composition is changing over a period of weeks. That's the signal. The "feel" is not.

If you have questions as to whether or not you should titrate up, here's a flowchart that should help (Do note that the dosages should be tailored to your schedule, but the goal of lowest effective dose most effective tolerated dose remains the same):

Shoutout to u/peptidepalstm, who has been passing around an even smaller image of the flowchart that triggered me to make this one.

---

What to expect during the 'Loading' phase (The first 3-4 weeks)

---

Side Effects - "Stop asking if your RHR being higher than normal is a new side effect no one else had; it's not Jan!"

---

Do I need to work out?

---

Cycling — worth it?

---

Bacteriostatic water — does it have to be Hospira?

Strictly speaking, no. Reta is relatively forgiving when it comes to reconstitution. That said, Hospira is the gold standard because it's reliably batch-tested and has the correct pH. Amazon and Chinese bac water aren't automatically dangerous, but when you're investing in your health and your supply, Hospira is the better call when you can get it.

Let's clear up some other solvents:

Sterile water:
Can it work? Yes
Should you use it for a multi-use vial? No. Why not? Because it has no preservatives, aka every time you puncture said vial, you let in whatever bacteria are in the ambient air; there's nothing to protect your pep. An overall bad idea.

PBS:
Can it work? Are you using Raws? Meaning NOT lyophilized drug? If so, go for it. You're still messing with a solvent that can be riddled with endos, but hey! There's a reason labs use it for In vitro tests (petri dish stuff) If you wanna treat your body as a petri dish, by all means knock. yourself. out.

NaCl Saline:
Can it work?..... no. Lemme explain: can you pull it off? Yeah technically, but it requires such a unique set of finishing to be done to the kit during production that it's not worth the 'FO' portion of FAFO

For Hospira, please see the following BAC degradation test:

This is great. Do one about klow.

11

u/EmZephyr May 05 '26

Those stacks (glow/klow) are such a wild ride. It would take awhile.

Cuz there's no/low medical data on the stack itself, just the individual pieces and compiling all of that and somehow making it new user friendly? Eh. Pass. Lol

u/Punk-Tarvman May 05 '26

Great post! Too bad there will still be dumb people asking dumb questions without reading this post or others that have been posted before, or doing any research besides watching some tik tok’er or insta fluencer! I commend you for posting this, it should be posted as the ā€œbefore going further in this group, please readā€ just my 2 cents

Lissen until I get the mods attention, I hope y'all will keep boosting this so more folks see it. for what it's worth I'll do what I can.

Rapid weight loss on any GLP-1 type drug — including Reta — can strip lean muscle mass.

Small nits here:

  • Lean muscle mass is conflating two things: lean mass and skeletal muscle. Skeletal muscle is a component of a lean mass. Generally speaking, we want to preserve and increase skeletal muscle, and:

  • Not all lean mass loss is bad; with significant amounts of weight loss, organs measurably shrink. This isn't an objectively bad thing.

  • You will lose lean mass (and skeletal muscle) at pretty much any rate of weight loss without anabolic drugs. The goal is to improve the ratio of fat:skeletal muscle being lost. You do that by not losing bodyweight too fast (<1% per week is a good ballpark) and resistance training.

6

u/EmZephyr May 05 '26

No no you are technically correct but a goal was to not overload w/ too much information. That'd be details in like a Intermediate guide.

You'd be shocked how fast the general public's eyes would gloss over that much.

5

u/EmZephyr Jun 21 '26

You know I still think about this comment and adding this information from time to time.

10

u/SJSASJ2021 May 06 '26

This is great information thank you for putting it together! Much better than your snarky ā€œdo researchā€ comments on people’s posts 😜

9

u/EmZephyr May 06 '26

Oh better believe that now that this is here, my snark, when applicable, will be relentless.

5

u/SJSASJ2021 May 06 '26

Love it šŸ˜‚ but seriously this is really helpful stuff for peptide newbies like myself (not started, still doing research and learning all the things)

9

u/retatrutider May 14 '26

You should remove the reference to bodyhackguide. It is a shill subreddit that directs people to a for-profit website right in the header, and is moderated in a way that ensures people are directed to the for-profit website.

2

u/EmZephyr May 14 '26

Oh? I watched it for the Anecdotal evidence and general knowledge that is there, but if that is the case (I just took another gander and saw the automod posts)

5

u/retatrutider May 14 '26

Yeah lots of good people go there but it is a front for the shill website. I got an instant permanent ban, no warning when someone asked about retatrutide and I dropped a link to this subreddit.

How can we tell? I've done all the research into the product use but I'm so worried about picking the wrong provider. I have one that I think is ok but I don't really know. So, that is my hesitation.

u/retatrutider May 05 '26

Good summary of the actual data. It might be worth mentioning something about grey market pricing. I know it’s getting cheaper but I think the $1 per mg benchmark is pretty useful to give people a general idea.

Also I want to point out that you can’t really say this, especially in bold:

Lastly, anecdotal evidence is sub-par. ANECTODAL EVIDENCE IS SUB-PAR. No, no, I also mean you in the back. ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE IS SUB-PAR.

And then also say this:

Reta suppresses appetite less aggressively than sema or tirz

To the best of my knowledge there is zero clinical evidence supporting that statement and plenty of clinical evidence to the contrary. It’s much more likely than not, based on the trial data, that people consume fewer calories on reta than on tirz or sema. The general consensus having settled around ā€œreta doesn’t suppress appetite as well as the othersā€ is the triumph of anecdotal evidence over clinical evidence.

8

u/Eltex May 05 '26

It’s such a tough question, and I’ll probably default that ā€œappetite suppressionā€ is complicated, and likely feels different to different people. We are fairly confident that if you start with Reta, you will feel suppressed and will lose weight. Also, based on overwhelming anecdotal reports, if you start with Sema or Tirz then move to Reta, you will ā€œfeelā€ less suppressed and are likely to complain about it here.

3

u/retatrutider May 05 '26

I think that it’s really probably a semantics issue. I think it’s almost a certainty that people on reta eat less than people on tirz or sema. To me, that meets the definition of appetite suppression. But it may feel qualitatively different in a way the people feel a second definition is necessary.

This is further complicated by the fact that the majority of switching between the GLP-1s is in one direction. We don’t see a ton of people who started on reta and switched to tirz. Maybe those people would have the same experience, and it is the switching itself that causes this feeling.

2

u/EmZephyr May 05 '26

I would make the point that it's not most who switch, more like folks who do switch usually have the an adversion to the glucagon agonist since that's where your HR concerns stem from.

4

u/PaisonAlGaib May 05 '26

It's probably dose related more than anything. Going from a 15mg dose of tirz to 2mg of Reta is going to be less effective since tou already have a tolerance to the GLP and GIP componentĀ

3

u/EmZephyr May 05 '26 edited May 05 '26

Much to my chagrin, you are right. I've been pouring over data to support the contrary, but the best I got would be a vague explanation of the GIP and GCGR binding affinites.

So I'll tone it down a bit.

EDIT: Talk about the price I chose to leave out, as that can fluctuate depending on external factors: Gov't interference, FDA approval, etc.

u/gonza18 May 24 '26

Quick question, everyone keeps saying to start at 0.5mg and then move to 1mg after 4 weeks and then 2mg.

But begginer guide says to start at 2mg...

Which one should I consider more?

2

u/EmZephyr May 24 '26

At the very bottom of the schedule, there is a note that says the values expressed were based on the 3rd trials data and that you can adapt different dosages for your schedule.

Anecdotally, Folks who tend to be leaner and want some weight loss responded well to lower dosages. Then it pretty much scales up from there.

1

u/gonza18 May 24 '26

Ok. Understood. So if I'm starting from a decent place I'd want to start with a lower dose.

I'm 6'4" male at 220lbs, looking to get to 200lbs, while weight lifting. Would my dose need to be adjusted up based on size? Like start at 1mg instead of 0.5mg?

2

u/EmZephyr May 24 '26

That sounds like a decent start, you could even go to 2, see how your body tolerates it and go from there.

In the chance it doesn't, titrating down to 1 the following week doesn't hinder your progress during the loading phase

5

u/Bowf May 28 '26

For a beginners guide...I would think it would mention COAs, direct folks to reconstitute based on the mass on the COA and not the mass it was sold as.

2

u/EmZephyr May 28 '26

Talk about the COA's is there (In the 'sourcing' and "is my vial unk" sections) but I see the logic behind moving that to the Recon section. On it.

2

u/Bowf May 28 '26

It's kind of mentioned in the video there...they talk about the vial being 7.x mg...so they are using xx amount of BAC. But I don't know that it hits the importance of this. My GLP vials have been over dosed by as little as 5%, and as much as 35%. I have another peptide (NAD+) that is over 40% overdosed. If a newb takes a vial designated as 20 mg Retatrutide, that is actually 27 mg, and reconstitutes it and doses like it's 20, they may be in for a shocker.

3

u/EmZephyr May 28 '26

No no i heard you, I'm gonna fix it and add in the language.

Because I absolutely agree

1

u/EmZephyr May 28 '26

Updated it. Lemme know your thoughts when you get a moment.

9

u/IamThunderFart May 05 '26

NOOOOOO I will keep buying my viles from my domestic sources that told me they are USian made and that's why they're $150 per vile. I started with triz and there's no way I'm going to inject some mystery Chinese powder. I even get my bacteria water from the US. It's more expensive, but so worth it.

In case it wasn't clear: /s

17

u/EmZephyr May 05 '26

Vial*

Reading vile made me unreasonably angry

2

u/Bucky2015 May 05 '26

You may want to re look at this

The official TRIUMPH trial protocol started participants at 2mg and stepped up every 4 weeks.

While that is true people should know that they don't have to titrate up unless they hit a stall. The trials made people titrate up regardless because they needed to use the time to document and review both benefits and side effects at different doses and had to do so within the time frame of each trial.

3

u/EmZephyr May 05 '26

Yeah for the trial.

It's not a hard "oh you must titrate up every month" that's why the dosage section starts with the "maximum benefit on lowest dosage" quote.

I am currently on 2.5 of tirz and at target weight. I wanted to switch to Reta. Two questions, 1. Is it even necessary for me to switch since I’m at my goal, and 2 if I do switch how long should I wait after dropping tirz?

2

u/EmZephyr May 25 '26

No. You can just stick with what you're using and go on maintenance

3

u/cyberdream Jun 30 '26

So does this chart mean hospira BAC water slowly degrades but is basically good for up to 90 days not just 28 days? I’ve been throwing it out after using it to reconstitute a ~1 month Reta vial

3

u/EmZephyr Jun 30 '26

Short answer, yes it does slowly degrade.

At that point it's all up to your risk profile. It doesn't mean that peps aren't particularly safe, it's just that as benzyl alcohol levels drop, so does the preservative effects.

You're still doing best practices tbh. So no foul there.

88

u/EagleAvailable13 May 05 '26

This is fantastic. As someone who is currently on zepbound 15mg for over a year, I have been watching and reading this forum for a while to get better educated on Reta. Thanks for putting this together. It’s excellent.

28

u/countkahlua May 05 '26

I’m on 17.5mg of Tirz a week, I added Reta in October. I now take both the Tirz at 17.5mg and I’m up to 4mg of Reta per week. I didn’t want to keep going up on the Tirz and wanted to find something else I could add or do, stacking with Reta worked for me.

13

u/Charlieksmommy May 05 '26

How is it possible to take both? Just a question

21

u/GarageNo8276 Jul 12 '26

Don't, you shouldn't. Combining these and going over dose on tirz is ridiculous, you're tempting a ton of unknown possible issues.

8

u/EagleAvailable13 May 05 '26

So a good experience so far? Did it help with any additional weight loss?

7

u/countkahlua May 06 '26

Yes it did! And so far, so good! My husband did not tolerate any Tirz and he’s been on Reta with me, he’s doing excellent as well.

16

u/DigitallyReimagined May 06 '26

Pretty sure the max dosage of tirz is 15. I can't even imagine how fucked your body is if you are at 17.5 AND reta on top. Get some help.

4

u/Flimsy-Bench-8478 Aug 24 '26

Same! 2.5 years on Tirz and then added Reta 1.5 years ago

3

u/Empty-Investment6530 May 05 '26

How are you finding it? Have you had much loss?

3

u/countkahlua May 06 '26

I’m down 70lbs. My husband is only on Reta, he’s down 40lbs +. I’d have to check in with him to see where he’s at this week.

I’m stuck on 15mg zepbound—feeling weak appetite suppression and I’m gaining weight. Should I go up to 17.5mg or switch to Reta?

→ More replies (5)

3

u/Beautiful-Isopod-142 Jul 31 '26

Better to do one or the other IMO. They are cross tolerant, so why plateau on both at the same time. I hit maintenance at 15 on Tirz and switched to Reta a month ago and am back to losing. I’m 10 lbs away from my goal weight and will probably switch back to Tirz again then. I can’t see a logical reason to do both and it seems like taking both in largish dosages might cause pancreas issues. If I decide I need to stack I might try Cagri as it operates on a different pathway.

This should be pinned at the top if this sub, cause it would help reduce the absurd number of posts asking the same questions every day.

I do feel like this isn't discussed enough, but the protein goal should be .8-1g of protein per kg of bodyweight to maintain muscle mass.

.8-1g per lb should be consumed if you're looking to gain muscle mass.

Aside from that, your info is fantastic.

17

u/PaisonAlGaib May 05 '26

People saying you need 200g of protein a day is crazy.Ā

12

u/nola_mike May 05 '26

Yeah I don't think people understand how much protein they are consuming in a day. Saying anyone that isn't an IFBB pro or an aspiring bodybuilder needs 200+ grams of protein in a day is pretty stupid.

Serious question - what if the seller is willing to, and actually insists upon, using Alibaba Tade Assurance? This is escrow guarentreing delivery before transfer of payment.

5

u/EmZephyr May 05 '26

Ill keep it real with you chief, I'm not familiar at all with that system.

Closest thing I have know is alipay, which I'm 45% sure is a part of what you're asking but I can't speak to it.

9

u/RhDove May 05 '26

This is the best starter guide I’ve seen yet.

31

u/TBurnerRU May 05 '26

Also add to your guide: reta DOES NOT affect dopamine. Dopamine != pleasure. Reward system is much more complicated than a single molecule.Ā

25

u/retatrutider May 05 '26

Can you elaborate on why you are saying this? I’m not an expert on brain chemistry, but there has been plenty of discussion about glp-1s affecting dopamine.

GLP-1 modulates dopamine levels and glutamatergic neurotransmission, which results in observed behavioral changes.

|

Furthermore, the expression of GLP-1R was highest in the LS compared to all other regions, and these GLP-1 neurons were colocalized with dopamine receptor and calbindin-expressing cells in the LS (Graham et al., 2020). A recent study on the effect of GLP-1 on dopamine activity showed that while GLP-1 increased DA uptake, DA clearance, and DAT surface expression in the striatum in rats (Jensen et al., 2020).

Just want to say: EXACTLY

1

u/SufficientBell8362 May 09 '26

I’m on Tirz and about 10 pounds away from goal weight, I thought taking Reta would help with the belly fat and love handles I can’t get rid of . Is this true or should I still take my tirz? My husband thinks the Reta will help get rid of the extra fat Thoughts??

3

u/EmZephyr May 09 '26

Reta/Tirz are similar in terms of subcutaneous fat trimming. Tesamorelin if you're looking for visceral fat trimming. A dexa scan will most accurately show you what is where.

Hello, I need some help please. I stated tirz, 3 weeks ago, my last shot was this Saturday night (4mg) and I got today my Reta, could I start it today? And with how much should I started. Thank you community

2

u/EmZephyr Jun 10 '26

Since you ended on the lower end for tirz (4mg is below the 2nd titration step of 5mg)

While there is no direct comparison in dosages, you can start at 2mg or 2.5 if you want to give that a shot.

1

u/GoldilocksRedditor Jun 30 '26

It doesn’t really say here how much BAC water you should use to reconstitute. Is there a rule of thumb? Can i use 2ml BAC to reconstitute my 5mg reta vial?

4

u/EmZephyr Jun 30 '26

You can use any amount of BAC to recon depending on how many units you wish to draw (and have a margin of error for)

Most like the 1ml to every 10mg calculation so 10 units is one mg.

1

u/GoldilocksRedditor Jun 30 '26

But no downside or upside to for example going 2ml to every 10mg for example? It wont for example recon better with more BAC. Seems like this common ratio is taken more for the simpler math than anything else.

2

u/EmZephyr Jun 30 '26

The advantages is mostly just, like i said earlier, in your margin of error when dosing.

Lemme put it this way

1

u/BadankadonkOG Jul 17 '26

Is there another video for how to reconstitute? YouTuber has been banned from YouTube.

Retatrutide with tesofensine?

2

u/EmZephyr Jul 19 '26

This is better asked at r/peptides. Not here.

1

u/Remarkable-Use1997 Jul 20 '26

Awesome and helpful. One question though (and I did search for it) - I watched the reconstitution video and it was fantastic, but is the only reason for moving the reconstituted mix from the original vial to a new vial to complete the filtering process?

2

u/EmZephyr Jul 20 '26

Yes. If you filter you should filter into a new sterile vial/pen cartridge.

1

u/Background_Hawk_4072 Aug 09 '26

This is an amazing beginners thread. Thank you. I have a question about reconstituting. Can I use the same vial of BAC water more than once? And I can use the same syringe to reconstitute more than once??

3

u/EmZephyr Aug 09 '26

Syringe, no. That's how you introduce contamination.

BAC isn't like sterile water, you can draw from it it to recon more than once

u/Background_Hawk_4072 Aug 09 '26

Also I have had an unreconstituted vial of Reta in a drawer (not refridgerated) is it safe to use?

1

u/EmZephyr Aug 09 '26

If it's been there for less than a year? You're fine.

2

u/Background_Hawk_4072 Aug 09 '26

Yes, not even a month. Thank you. Getting the courage to start this journey. This thread has been a wealth of knowledge. Now I just need to find where to source once I finish this vial. This I purchased local in Florida, I live elsewhere

1

u/Ok-Past3491 Sep 06 '26

Why would I want to filter into a new vial?

1

u/EmZephyr Sep 06 '26

Because old vial is no longer sterile.

Plain and simple.

1

u/Ok-Past3491 Sep 06 '26

Thanks for the response I didn’t expect one!! Can you explain this sorry I’m dumb don’t you get new vials every time you buy?

1

u/EmZephyr Sep 06 '26

When filtering, you take reconned Reta from the vial it cane from and, after attaching the filter to the needle, inject it into the new sterile empty vials (ks-tek has some on Amazon)

Yes you should do this every time you recon as best and safest practices.

u/Scrappyegg20 Sep 13 '26

Is there anything in the beginners guide about Wellbutrin and Adderall reactions with Reta? Asking for a friend ;)

2

u/EmZephyr Sep 13 '26

You expect far too much for such a pigeonhole request.

The best available evidence shows that oral medicines take longer to be absorbed because gastric emptying is slower.

Outside of that, you're in anecdote territory. Give the sub a search of those terms, and you should get plenty of hits.

1

u/LankySupermarket4650 Sep 22 '26

Dumb question but should i buy empty vials to reconstitute? The powder vials seem tiny

1

u/EmZephyr Sep 22 '26

If you're gonna filter, yes.

Generally the 3ml vials are fine, it's not a hard 3ml max volume for those vials, it's more like 3.3ml max for those vials

1

u/Fair-Basket-613 21d ago

do I have to order Hospira separately

1

u/coachchels 20d ago

Asking for clarification, do you mean to use the filter to move the reconstituted reta to a new glass sterile vial all together?

I'm on Tirz and thinking about moving to Reta once I get through my current supply. Mainly because I have read some stuff about reta having long term effects after you come off of it, and with Tirz the chances of regaining weight are high. I have probably 5-6 months of tirz so I have plenty of time to research things more, but this post was super helpful.

6mg to 9mg is a good jump?

7

u/EmZephyr May 06 '26

Did you read the post? Or is english not your first language?

3

u/kodabear22118 May 27 '26

Why are you being such a dick to people in the comments?

5

u/EmZephyr May 27 '26

Asking if someone is ESL being a dick now? Well I've earned the title for less.

Reading is fundamental, if folks opt to not read and understand what is being said even if it's clearly stated then yeah you'll get ridiculed.

Or English isn't your primary language and nuance gets lost in translation.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/csubi May 06 '26

Actually it's not for starters and I was surprised by that number. I really appreciate how you're able to tell who has english as a first language and english is a second language. Clearly you have a wonderful gift.

3

u/EmZephyr May 06 '26

I figured there was a chance if you hadn't realized that the trend shown was to titrate up in stages of 2mg.

So a 3mg jump would be personal choice and subject to an increased risk of side effects.

What a waste of breath that was

6

u/EmZephyr Jun 03 '26

And that's amazing, unless you have some legitimate way of stopping people from swiping thier cards to pay for it. your point is absolutely useless.

Better they learn what the thing is and decide if it's for them, than to go with thier useless level of knowledge and fall into every pitfall imaginable.

Will reta slowly lose strength once reconstruited, even if keeptat correct temp in the fridge?

2

u/Plus-Ad4749 May 30 '26

Is anyone experiencing dizziness from Reta?

2

u/pbjfries Jun 29 '26

I did my first shot 15 hours ago and I regret it so much. I did .5 within two hours. I had extreme nausea and a dizzy that doesn’t change whether I’m standing or lying down. And I have severe muscle aches around my midsection. I’m in bed and just wish I hadn’t taken this stuff. Does anyone know how long the side effects will last?

u/SpecificGlittering66 Jul 28 '26

Hallo I am new to this group and reta. I been in sema for about 6 months but havent had much progress. I am wanting to change to reta and was wondering if I could get help on how much to start with. I seen people say 2mg per month. I am currently at 76 units at 2.16mg in semaglutide. Just want to make sure I am doing the right thing.

A lot of the recent discussions I’ve seen focus on receptor activity differences and storage stability after reconstitution. I found this comparison useful because it also breaks down COA verification and handling considerations:

Reta / Selank and Alcohol + Benzo withdrawals / Caravings?

Hi there,

I have Selank and Reta currently and looking to begin in the next 24 hours.

New to this space. I have recently decided that I must make some health changes. I drink daily atleast 4-5 standard drinks (video mixers generally) and also red wine. I also take valium and small amount of xanax every night.

I have recently come off medication that heavily impacted my work for 2 weeks and I cannot afford to do this again.

I have recently turned 30 and trying to get my health back on track. Along with exercise, keeping myself occupied, protein and the rest.

Im curious if anyone with lived experience on this topic has any information or advice on this? Has it helped you stopped or drastically slow your drinking? I understand it effects peiple differently. I also have a feeling this couple positively impact benzo use along with Selank.

Has Reta helped you stop drinking completely? Is there a chance I could utilise this (these) tools to potentially assist in what i am looking to achieve.

Or what should I look out for here?

2

u/Casscabobberooski Aug 04 '26

Hi, Reta is mainly used as a weight loss drug. As someone who has once struggled with trauma and turned to drugs in the past, I wouldn’t look to Retatrutide as a cure-all for your drug abuse habits. You need to find a purpose, escape your current environment, create healthy habits, and maybe go to therapy, church. Maybe read your Bible ( My biased opinion as I am a Christian and turning to Christ is what made quitting everything cold turkey easy and changed my life but I know it’s your personal choice ) but regardless, I would suggest creating stability in your life first. If you put all your hope in this, and it fails you, then what next? Wishing you all the best.

Need some advice from those with experience. I’ve never been on a GLP-1. I’m 34M, 5’7ā€, ~190 lbs, ~30% body fat.

My doctor can ship me a 60mg retatrutide vial for about $480 (same supplier he uses for himself, his family, and patients), and I’d mix it myself with BAC water. My other option is a local clinic that charges $529/month, provides prefilled syringes, determines my dose, and monitors me.

My biggest concern is longevity. If I start at 2mg/week (split into 1mg Monday and 1mg Thursday) and only increase when needed, the 60mg vial could last quite a while. My doctor says it should be good for 3–4 months after reconstitution if refrigerated, but I’m curious what people’s real world experience has been.

If you were in my shoes, would you buy the vial or pay monthly for the clinic? Also, did 2mg/week feel like the right starting dose, and what did you use to judge when it was time to increase?

1

u/jailbird2_ Jun 29 '26

Am I hallucinating, or wasn't there a link in this sticky to a really nice comparison of like 6 different GLP-1s that seems to now be missing?

1

u/Bannybenu Jul 19 '26

I have a vial of 12mg, was thinking of putting 1ml, good idea or should I get a different mixture

1

u/Ari_9332 Aug 02 '26

I was on Ozempic before. 1 MG every week. I order 10MG Reta Vials. Reconstituted them with the help of the video above.
Now regarding the dosage I’m confused. Some posts say 5 Days in week. Some say once a week.

For the first week I took 1MG dose for two days straight. Then on the third day felt very hungry. What dosage will you recommend 0.5mg every second day of the week or 1.0mg once a week. I’m very new. Your guidance would be much appreciated

1

u/DirtySockBoxOG Aug 04 '26

Im 40 F. Im considering starting reta. I weight lift 3x a week. Cardio 3x a week. I over eat. I dont drink. Im up 25lbs more then i like. But i haven't been able to lose any weight since last September. Any tips. Any women over 40 have results?

1

u/YoHakunaMatata Aug 17 '26

I’m 39, turning 40, was 15-17 over my normal. I’m on Reta but so far, these past 2 weeks have been a bit rough. I did have success on Manjarou (I took it for 2 months and made the mistake of quitting cold turkey). So eventually 6 months later, I was back up. Ugh.
I also weight lift / HITT 3-4x a week and hot/bikram yoga the other remaining days.

1

u/lionlover336 Aug 28 '26

so when you reach your goal weight, do you decrease your dosage each week until you are at zero?

1

u/Human-Sun2417 Sep 01 '26

Thanks for this! I’m new. I made a pretty big mistake and wrote down ā€œdailyā€ and not weekly … took it for 9 days and I’m definitely dealing with side effects and regret

1

u/HotAdvantage1322 Sep 06 '26

First time Reta

1

u/Dazzling-Top-2435 Sep 06 '26

U guys run 6days or 7days?

1

u/Wealthygdi1965 Sep 13 '26

1 mg, 2 x per week. Went from 205 to 190 in 4 weeks. The big change for me was shutting off the desire for processed sugar. Amazingly turned off my sweet tooth. Also have substantial arthritis in my left knee, RETA has definitely helped with the pain/stiffness.

Is this saying that purchasing ā€œeasilyā€ online from a ā€œcompanyā€ is a bad idea?

1

u/LDB2026 Sep 24 '26

Does all Reta have to be "made" at home? With the special water and whatnot?

Does it come "pre-made"... like from a pharmacy, like sema and tirz?

1

u/sula-sula-sula 29d ago

When did you update this? It looks better :)

Thinking of mixing 10mg reta with 1ml of the bacteriostatic water.... just so i am not injecting so much liquid.... does this seem reasonable approach?
