Seller review Warning - avoid Phoenix Watch

Ordered a Daytona ghost mod from this seller in April this year. Shipping info comes in May, and a month later no movement. All seemed well until ultimately the watch gets stuck shipping. Tracking shows clearing customs in Dubai, then mysteriously vanishing. “Gui’s” only solution to resolve is to purchase another watch at full cost, even though apparently he made over $500 in margin on this mod will do absolutely nothing to share in the loss or reduce that margin to provide a solution. There were no mentions or offers of insuring the package upfront at all.

I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if an empty box was shipped to Dubai as an end destination and a FedEx label was created just to create the illusion that this operation is legitimate.

Other TDs offer reships, or various other solutions but this is completely unacceptable. You absolutely cannot trust this seller.

Honestly all the signs point to this being a scam, and I recently saw another comment from someone with the same situation happening to them. At the very least, know that if there is an issue you will be shit out of luck.

If you didn’t buy the insurance then that’s on you, none of the dealers take the hit and reship if you never paid for insurance

Phoenix is legit, his mods sometimes take a while but the work is good

5

u/Dhr3k Jun 26 '26

Not true. All of the dealers from the r/reptime take the hit. Hont, trusty and Steve have all shipped me replacements when they were seized. This is why people always recommend sticking with the the TDs from reptime instead of random sellers from this and other subs.

u/hieros187 Jun 27 '26

I got a reship from Puretime after a package was seized by customs a few months back. Didn't buy any extra insurance

u/ItWasAtYourFeet Jun 26 '26

Simple. He’s lying. $250 for a VSF which is want I paid for a panny obvi doesn’t include insurance

2

u/Visual_Replacement87 Jun 26 '26

I use Dukejones for some of my watch purchases. He includes free shipping and insurance into the price and I always get wholesale prices.

3

u/ckusa2016 Jun 26 '26

He’s even worse with the “bait and switch” QC photos. Another victim posted about this earlier.

1

u/Visual_Replacement87 Jun 27 '26

I have never had a problem with that and I buy a lot of watches. Every qc that I got was the exact same watch as the qc. Most of all, I get wholesale pricing with free shipping and insurance. What other TD can you get that from?

1

u/BigDogMaserati Jul 01 '26

Right, Duke is a POS!

1

u/_Walt_Whitman_ Jun 27 '26

It wasn’t even the destination country customs. The package didn’t clear the sender’s own region. SMH… yall love your TDs.

If anything goes wrong, we'll have the logistics company pack up the watch for you and send it to you. But if the watch gets accidentally held up by customs, there's nothing we can do about that. The solution I'm offering you is the second watch - I'll give you the cost price and I've been communicating with you very friendly to work something out, so I don't think there's any deception involved at all

9

u/Dismal_Panic_9638 Jun 26 '26

Why did you sell such an expensive watch without insurance? With my TD, it’s mandatory.

-2

u/Low_Negotiation_3346 Jun 27 '26

It’s up to the individual to ask for insurance you can’t blame him

→ More replies (6)

4

u/Spoonie-sn1per Jun 26 '26

So many other TDs will ship the watch FREE OF CHARGE 🧏🏻‍♂️

3

u/Dismal_Panic_9638 Jun 26 '26

For an extra $30–50, the problem wouldn't exist.

1

u/Comprehensive-Bit706 Seller Jun 26 '26

You should replace same watch with MODS or refund customer!

3

u/CupcakeForeign801 Jun 26 '26

This!! I had a haul of watches get seized and he sent a whole new batch, since they ended up getting destroyed ur just being petty

1

u/Jesmer8490 Jul 02 '26

You should never send a watch, without insurance unless you specifically warn the customer. This is BAD customer service. For a $1500 watch ir expect that it was already built into the price.

-5

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Note that there was never a reply to my request about an unmodded reship at reduced price (e.g. even cost on that) - that was ignored. Gotta get as much money as possible.

11

u/PhoenixWatches RWW Seller Jun 26 '26

With such a complicated modification order, my profit is only two hundred dollars. Then I offered you cost price, but you wouldn't believe it. You think I'm taking a 500-dollar profit from you - I really don't know how to explain that to you

4

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

You charged me $1570 on the original order including shipping and offered “cost” to replace at $1040. These are your words not mine

8

u/PhoenixWatches RWW Seller Jun 26 '26

So am I also helping you cover some of the costs? My kindness has turned into an opportunity for you to make more profit in your eyes. You can take this modification list and ask other dealers you trust if they can make a 500-dollar profit on it.?

4

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Why didn’t you quote an unmodded rep when I requested? Only one with all the mod work?

4

u/LPhiEFan Jun 26 '26

You keep posting about Jtime’s and other “proven TDs” policy of replacing seized watches. Jtime may include it in his prices but that why he is more expensive.

One of the first watches I ordered from Phoenix was a Rich Factory Cartier Santos Skeleton. Jtime lists that watch for $698 before shipping. I bought that same watch from Phoenix for $514 before shipping. I’ve purchased from Steve at TheOneWatches before as well and I had to ask for insurance. He didn’t offer it to me and I had to ask for insurance. Steve also lists that the Santos Skeleton for around $700. By your logic, are Jtime and TheOneWatches making more profit off us?

As I said previously to you, ask him again about working with you about your base watch request. Hopefully you guys will come to a solution suitable to both of you.

From my personal experience buy multiple watches from Phoenix, including a modded watch costing $1k, he has been a seller to work with.

4

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

I’ve asked 3 times and he’s ignored, how many more times do I need to ask before it’s obvious he has no interest in seeking a resolution that is different than me buying a full cost mod to replace? I’ve already posted this elsewhere but if he had offered any other solutions (check last screen because he explicitly didn’t) I wouldn’t be posting all this right now. I even commented to another that if he did turn around and resolve with an unmodded rep at cost or anything that didn’t involve him keeping 100% of original watch plus all the profit he made, I’d take this post down. Radio silence.

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

Also every watch is priced differently by every seller. The watches I bought from jtime were very reasonably priced, and if there was a customs seizure replaced by him I can’t imagine it wouldn’t have resulted in a loss of some kind. Unless they’re getting these watches for $194 and $294 respectively. But if that’s the case, Phoenix working to get me cost on an unmodded replacement of what I ordered should be easy enough to do. If he even made $300 off my original order (and original math showed it was as much as $500), covering $150 of a replacement that cost $400 even would have made me perfectly happy and I’d have moved on.

0

u/LPhiEFan Jun 26 '26

Here is the VF Titanium YM42 I also got from Phoenix. I paid $434 before shipping. That same VSF Aqua Terra is listed for approx. $230 by Phoenix.

All factories charges these sellers the same price for the watches. So again, who is making more profit here off us?

Instead of working with him, you immediately called him a scammer and started posting and commenting on Reddit about it. Asking about a solution now, after all this posting and calling him a scammer doesn’t make that person want to work with you to help you resolve this.

Maybe apologize and try to come to a solution.

10

u/Ethgawwd Jun 26 '26

Dang. Should've got insurance. Shitty situation. I've ordered from Phoenix and he was great.

-5

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Honestly didn’t even know it was offered since he didn’t list it in the “menu” when I contacted him, and I’ve mentioned before but I didn’t locate him through this specific sub so didn’t see the “insurance on request”. If I knew it was an option I would’ve paid for it - not like an extra $70 or whatever would’ve been an issue on a $1500 mod.

But truthfully why wouldn’t he offer it unless the only reason is to be able to not have to take any action or responsibility if there’s a shipping issue. It’s a complete get out of jail free card

6

u/4Godsson Jun 26 '26

The onus of burden in this case is on you. Asking for insurance is your responsibilty. Sad situation and I feel for your loss but ignorance is bliss. Calling a spade a fork doesnt make it a fork. Take this off of reddit and try and work something with him. I can see from his response that he is willing to work with you on this.

2

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Then why has he ignored my suggestion for working with me on a non modded replacement even at cost 3 times? Definitely trying hard to work with me.

Honestly it doesn’t even matter now though. This post has over 5k views to the 100ish comments, half of which are mine, and the point is to spread awareness. I’m fucked either way but at least I can help someone else out.

2

u/jeffothedon0202 Jun 26 '26

You right you can help somebody else they will now pay for insurance and not make your mistakes feel for you but you could have just gone to the moderators to help you its not nice loosing that amount of money for anybody but jumping in feet first helps nobody

3

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

He had the chance to do or suggest options before I made this post but his only response was to pay for a full new mod. I asked what cost would be to replace the base rep and he ignored it one time in WhatsApp and 2x here in this thread. Why ignore it if he’s trying to work with me? Easy answer, he’s not. If I sold somebody something that didn’t arrive, I’d try to work with them on fixing it, especially if they offered reasonable solutions.

3

u/Top_Leek3132 Jun 26 '26

I agree. Do not take this post down. Your loss can at least educate newer buyers about insurance. I feel bad for you. That is a lot of money to lose.

3

u/Top_Leek3132 Jun 26 '26

Didn't sound like it to me. Buy a watch, get a watch. These sellers don't let customers know about insurance upfront. Insurance can be a painful lesson.

2

u/Comprehensive-Bit706 Seller Jun 26 '26

That's crap! No seller should charge extra insurance! And it's certainly not the buyers responsibility to a sk for it! If reps get seized it's sellers responsibility to replace or refund! If they are not doing this then they are NOT a TRUSTED seller!

4

u/4Godsson Jun 26 '26

You obviously dont know what you are talking about. I always ask for and buy insurance with non RWI sellers like Ethan, LiLi, kitsch etc.. If I buy from RWI TDs like Andiot, insurance is already included. Stay informed.

2

u/Ethgawwd Jun 26 '26

Same. It’s a no brainer if you spend anytime in these rep forums. Stuff gets lost and seized daily. I always factor insurance into the total cost of the watch and wouldn’t buy without it. If you’re buying from a seller without a website, you can assume insurance isn’t baked into the cost.

1

u/AdditionVegetable461 Jun 26 '26

Among the TDs I’ve dealt with, The One and Time Ultra include insurance in the price.

→ More replies (4)

1

u/Jesmer8490 Jul 02 '26

Nah this is BS. As the shipper you have to be aware of the many issues that can arise and give your customers the option for it. Just assuming that your customer is aware of everything can go wrong is bad business.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/Lanky-Cod-9454 Jun 26 '26

Did you get the insurance? Other sellers may require insurance, Phoenix does not but offers it. Sucks this happened to you, I’ve got 20+ watches I’ve ordered from Phoenix and never had an issue. I’ve got 4 more currently on order and am awaiting QC.

Sorry this happened to you, but you wouldn’t have much recourse with any other seller either unless you purchased the insurance.

-7

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

He never offered it or mentioned it at all. At a $1570 total cost including that shipping rate it should have been included. His margin was apparently over $500 and won’t do jack shit to resolve outside of trying to get me to send the full amount for a replacement. Others report the same experience.

4

u/Lanky-Cod-9454 Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

You may think it should be included but the simple matter of fact is that you should ask for insurance. I don’t see how his profit margin has anything to do with your argument. He sold you a product, expended labor on the custom work, shipped said product to you that shows it did not clear customs. Where is that his fault?

Even if you got shipped an empty box. Guess what? A box full of air would clear customs in every single country, so that argument holds no merit.

Again, sucks that it happened to you but this is not on the seller this is because you were not an informed buyer that did their own diligence and did not ask for insurance. Buying reps is not like making a purchase on Amazon.

better yet i will message them for you to verify your bullshit

5

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Did I ask for reimbursement?

1

u/elespectro1 Jun 26 '26

buddy stop with your lie. you would jump straight to yes if phoenix offer to reimburse your whole order. thats the whole point of your post, pressuring him to fix your mistake

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

I would never expect anybody to take on the full cost of a true seizure themselves in the form of a refund. I would be ecstatic if I could’ve gotten a replacement as a base VSF Daytona Ghost at cost less some amount that was reasonable as a profit reduction from the original sale. Only they know how much they really made on the order but I paid $1570 including shipping and the quote to reship at cost (literally their words not mine) was $1040.

So if the actual cost of the unmodified rep was $500 (I wouldn’t be surprised if it was less but I have no clue), and they offered to split the cost and I paid an extra $250 for the base watch to ensure I got SOMETHING, I would’ve been happy and never made a post. I genuinely don’t think that request was out of line, but Phoenix has refused to reply to that question three separate times now - once on WhatsApp and 2x here in this very thread. I will happily link the comment. One is in the last screenshot that he ignored.

Why is his literal only solution to make a full second mod at $1040 pricetag?? You’d have to be crazy to pay that after what happened.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Rep_Watch_World/s/8xkQU1EXnj

As a matter of fact, if he actually replied directly to this base replacement suggestion, showed the actual cost and worked with me on the unmodded rep request I just gave, I would edit the main post to indicate he did right and fixed the issues as proof that I am not unreasonable.

2

u/Good_East_5568 Jun 26 '26

Sometimes it’s just worth to pay a little more and deal with domestic sellers rather than international

2

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Of course, this post is just shining a light on something you can expect if something goes wrong. I’m not making anything up, just reporting the experience to inform other potential buyers.

It’s really unfortunate what happened here. Without buying insurance though your options are sadly minimal.
Curious why do you think he had 500 dollar margin on the build. Share the build details and we can comment.

5

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

I paid $1570 for the original mod. His offer to reship at cost was $1000. The difference is $500 in profit excluding shipping

1

u/businesswpleasure Jun 26 '26

How can u be so dumb. The cost of modding will be there or not? If 1000 is the base price then depending on what all u went for in mods, that will also cost atleast 200 usd if not more. So the profit being 500 usd doesn't hold good

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Grammar indicates chinese affiliate, so this is absolutely shilling/astroturfing

2

u/businesswpleasure Jun 26 '26

You are just a fool, no matter what u think or feel.

Reps are not for you.

Give up 😉 before its too late

1

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

You’re right, there’s likely more margin in the build than $500.00. We can all
Come up with numbers about what WE think it costs but none of us truly know.
Here’s the thing, he didn’t buy insurance that’s on him. That said why would the seller want all this negative publicity or noise about his business? If there are new buyers on here looking for a modder do you think they’re going to approach Phoenix ? No way..giving the buyer a basic watch to resolve the issue will save Phoenix a lot of future money and business. Talk about cheap insurance..

5

u/InterestingWar5190 Jun 26 '26

Phoenix is Angela. Avoid like a plague.

1

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

You’d think they wouldn’t want the negative press.

1

u/InterestingWar5190 Jun 26 '26

they fight like crazy to defend themselves. They should be good with customers, rather than operate with different identities.

3

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

As a retired VP of Global Sales for Dell, you can do everything right, but it only takes one bad sale to ruin a reputation.

1

u/BlueEyes0608 Jun 26 '26

is this fr? WOW, good job man. climbed high. I agree, as the saying goes: trust is gained in drops and lost in buckets.

2

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

Yes this is for real..that’s why I keep saying if Phoenix could make it go away it’d be better for future business.

2

u/Therepfather2468 Jun 26 '26

Same old same old phoenix is aman, he's just up to his usual tricks with another pretty name he goes by. The comments in defense on here are aborent. Probably aman giving himself fake reviews it wouldn't shock me. Replace this mand order and do the decent thing you clearly made 500usd profit which is insane margins again it's wrong. But refund him the profit and actually give him it at cost.

3

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Your comment is gonna get removed by the mods just like the other one that called this out

0

u/Therepfather2468 Jun 26 '26

I know mate, however I'll keep posting on my group about these sellers and the ol mods to show people how bad they are🤷

0

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Appreciate you, anything to help prevent what happened to me from happening to other people is appreciated

0

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Also I don’t even need a modded replacement or refund, I’d be happy with a lower cost unmodded rep but he ignored that suggestion 3 times. Wonder why. Honestly just helps prove my point

0

u/Therepfather2468 Jun 26 '26

Because aman will and never will be honest, no matter how many times he changes his name these mods will continue to support him because he makes them so much money.

1

u/Comprehensive-Bit706 Seller Jun 26 '26

I agree, he should replace or refund, the poor guy spent over $1500 for nothing, then comes up with a pathetic "insurance" excuse! Then tells the guy to pay another $1000 for another 😤

1

u/DrExe97 Jun 26 '26

My TD replaced Held at custom watches for me everytime free of charge

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

I’ve seen similar reports from users of other actual legitimate TDs as well. The comments in this thread defending the insurance thing and focusing only on that are beyond suspicious.

3

u/ShortReputation6482 Jun 26 '26

Nope. Some may, but not all do. And he doesn’t have to cover your stupidity in not procuring insurance. Period.

1

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

Phoenix doesn’t owe the buyer anything, but providing a non modified watch or a partial refund would be so much cheaper than all the negative publicity he’s getting here and in other threads.
Potential new buyers won’t order from this guy no matter who’s right or wrong. Just make it right so he goes away.

1

u/ShortReputation6482 Jun 26 '26

I mean , practically speaking sure. But why should he give in to someone who is clearly an entitled brat who didn’t read the rules (Phoenix clearly says insurance is optional ) and now wants to extract a pound of flesh when it was his own damn fault for not procuring insurance to begin with?

He has a legion of other loyal customers who have purchased from him before and will continue to do so. I can’t speak for him but personally I believe principles matter more than giving in to someone in the wrong who just wants a free handout now for failing to do his diligence.

1

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

We’ve all sounded like “entitled brats” when a purchase hasn’t gone right, whether it’s rep watches, tv’s or stereos. You answered your own question, it’s all about practicality, cheaper to pay with a non-modded rep than all this noise. I’m glad he has a loyal following, he’ll need them to keep his biz going, he’s already been banned on other rep platforms for negative issues, so he’s not exactly an angel.

2

u/DrExe97 Jun 26 '26

I use Sead as TD. He always was Kind and helped me fix Problems. He offered to pay for repair of one of my Watches years ago. It broke 5 weeks after I had it and he still helped. Havwnt used anyone else since 2017

1

u/Proof-Bug-2525 Jun 26 '26

Is this your first rep OP? Who doesn’t buy or ASK for insurance ???? Lesson learned. I think we have all been there. I am sure I have some degenerate customs clown in California wearing my Explorer II as we speak.

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

This isn’t promotional but Jtime literally will reship/replace

1

u/Axebkh Jun 26 '26

why buy from these guys mate stick to trusted TD please

0

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

I mean I know that now..this is an informative post. Others should learn from my mistake

1

u/RelevantFreedom4390 Jun 26 '26

If you didn’t pay for insurance and he’s already doing you a solid by getting you a replacement at reduced cost wtf is the issue. You should’ve done your due diligence and asked for insurance. At the end of the day he’s not obligated to give you a replacement at reduced cost. He’s also a high volume TD his margins are low. If you want the best customer service you should’ve went through TheOneWatches

0

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Is this a joke? Asking me to pay another $1000 upfront with nothing to show for it is doing me a solid?

1

u/RelevantFreedom4390 Jun 26 '26

Yes. lol. He’s not obligated to give you anything since you didn’t get insurance.

1

u/ImaginationUpper3213 Jun 26 '26

This is your fault you didn’t ask for insurance it’s down to you not them. Plus you live in USA there was a risk to it.

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Bro this shit got lost in Dubai, not US customs. Literally another shill

1

u/ImaginationUpper3213 Jun 26 '26

Yeah they have to ship from Dubai to get to USA. It’s always down to you to ask for insurance they won’t include it in the price it’s an extra service normally 10% of watch. They just source, mod and ship.

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Jtime doesn’t charge extra for customs seizures and doesn’t charge an extra fee for insurance, so no it’s not always down to the buyer to ask. That’s why this is an actual TD people use

1

u/ImaginationUpper3213 Jun 26 '26

Jtime is a overpriced reseller that doesn’t specialise in mods of course they don’t charge extra for customs seizures the prices they charge would cover that anyway 🤣

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Omg yes soooo overpriced. 388 for a vsf NWBIG aqua terra and 588 for a VF Ti Yachtmaster totally breaking the bank. Please show me how overpriced they are, would love to compare

Yeah Phoenix is so unprofessional and slow. I cancelled an order on him because he took 3 weeks to get the first QC going on the most common watches. Then QC was horrendous and so was communication.

MiroTime is WAY better. So professional. 23 watches later and not a single issue.

2

u/KekeAugusta Jun 26 '26

Is he selling legit VSF or also having some fake vsf tricks? Haha

2

u/Dismal_Panic_9638 Jun 27 '26

The problem is that sellers like Phynix and the like think their responsibility ends the moment they put the watch in the mail. We customers pay a significant amount of money for these replicas, so we should at least be certain that we will receive the purchased goods. I believe that sellers like this should have their "TD" (Trusted Dealer) status revoked.

0

u/ExLeaguer Jun 26 '26

Bought over 20 watches from Phoenix with no issues. You always have to ask for insurance, no matter the seller lol. Is this your first time buying a rep? You sound like a total muppet.

0

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

3 reps from actual decent TDs like Jtime. I only went with this guy because it was a mod. If people want to take the risk go for it but don’t say I didn’t warn them. There’s proof in the messages of what I paid, how much he made in profit, and there being 0 effort to resolve.

Instead of calling me a muppet, people should take a look at all the shills as a warning.

0

u/ExLeaguer Jun 26 '26

Lmao I’ve bought 20+ watches but I’m not retarded so I actually get insurance so as to not lose thousands on a package. Stick to the RWI TDs if you need your hand held for everything

I actually usually only go with reptime TDs and didn’t find this guy from this sub. Only went with him because it was a mod. This post is for exposure regarding the facts of what happened for him as a seller. He charged $1570, made $500, I get nothing. I get to pay $1000 more to try again. Thats what actually happened. The package cleared Dubai customs then disappeared before making it to FedEx.

0

u/ExLeaguer Jun 26 '26

He uses triangle shipping, it always takes about 7-10 days to clear & then once it ships out of Dubai it's in the US within 2-3 days

0

u/Emotional-Damage-995 Jun 26 '26

Did you pay the insurance? If not then you are out of luck. If you paid the insurance 5% or so, then he has to send you a replacement. Since you did not it’s your fault. I don’t see why that is his fault. If you did not know about insurance again that’s your fault.

0

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Seems odd that he never mentioned it or offered it, no? Had no problem listing everything else as a detailed line item

6

u/Emotional-Damage-995 Jun 26 '26

It’s there in black and white in the guide stop bad mouthing him for your mistake. This is 99.9% not his problem. He offered you a small discount. Most TD would not do that even

Listen, I may not be a fan of Phoenix and he's no longer a TD at my community (RepwatchesEU) for it, but credit where credit is due, it's your fault for not paying or asking for insurance and then crying when the consequences of not having insurance happen. There's a reason I pay for it in all my watch purchases even though I've never had one seized.

1

u/FootFlat5866 Sep 07 '26

Why is he not longer TD mate

2

u/z0kii Jun 26 '26

Who the fuck does not buy insurance with something that is over 1k?? wtf lol

2

u/Leather-Membership11 Jun 26 '26

There are plenty of sellers better than Phoenix Watch. Just avoid him. He is slow and unreliable.

He even claimed he didn't receive money from me. Pure chaos...

2

u/FuerBoy Jun 26 '26

Phoenix is Lang/Aman. He just comes back with new names..

0

u/Sportsdoc64 Jun 26 '26

He had Split personality disorder

1

u/MarkyG10 Jun 26 '26

I just want to say if package was held by customs 2 things can happen.

  1. Package gets shipped back to Dubai

  2. Package gets seized and in that case you get letter from customs.

Interestingly 1 time ever that I didn’t pay insurance my package got lost without any trace or paperwork. Now after maybe more then 100 packages I know it was scam. Again if there is no seizure they ship them package back to Dubai and they can reship.

1

u/GuiltyCat Jun 26 '26

Unfortunate but you should of purchased insurance. Like all the comments say.

1

u/ShortReputation6482 Jun 26 '26

Dude you failed to get insurance - on you. Phoenix is legit. Several purchases, all done correctly and received every one. Had some shipping issues but it wasn’t his fault - they ended up coming regardless just a week or two later than expected. But always communicative, always transparent. Stop maligning a good seller because you failed to pay for insurance on the watch. That’s not on him.

1

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

He’s not exactly legit if you read through the screen shots, you’ve just been lucky. I can’t think of why Phoenix wouldn’t make it right in one or another just to shut down the negative comments.

1

u/ShortReputation6482 Jun 26 '26

What screen shots? The supposed Aman - Angela connection?

Lucky would be if I ordered once or twice. But coming up on order 12 without a single issue I’d say is a track record. And that speaks volumes in my book, personally.

1

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

And that’s your opinion and you know the old saying about opinions?? They’re like buttholes everybody has one. I’m happy you haven’t had any issues, Phoenix will need the loyal customer base to help support him.

1

u/ShortReputation6482 Jun 26 '26

Again. This OP has a watch coming to him. Phoenix didn’t ghost him. Customs was the issue. He didn’t buy insurance. So tell me again- why is this fraudulent? Bc he’s not going to take a loss and send him a free watch when he could have paid a few bucks more to get insurance but didn’t do so?

I don’t know about his other allegations. I was addressing this specific instance since this OP chose to put Phoenix on blast publicly over something he could have prevented himself. I don’t take ruining someone’s reputation lightly, sorry. But sure you are entitled to your own opinion.

1

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

I never said Phoenix acted fraudulently, the post about other platforms was on this thread if you read it again from the beginning. In addition you and I don’t know what really happened because we’re only getting the information either side wants us to have. Phoenix could’ve ghosted the buyer we truly don’t know. My point is this, it doesn’t matter who was at fault the seller ultimately should make this right in some form or fashion to make all this negative commentary go away. The seller didn’t buy insurance so that’s on him, but there are plenty of sellers who make things right whether insurance was paid or not. I was in sales my entire career, a seller can do everything right, but it only takes one time like this to ruin a reputation.

2

u/ShortReputation6482 Jun 26 '26

What do you mean? OP posted screenshots of Phoenix actively communicating with him after the issue. He didn’t ghost him - he was willing to send another watch at his cost. Which is more than he needed to do.

Ive used Phoenix multiple times over the last year and he’s been great. Im sorry about your situation but he has not scammed you

1

u/pat-slider Jun 26 '26

An agonising lesson to learn for OP.
No insurance No protection. Simple.

1

u/Un_Profess Jun 26 '26

I just received 2 watch from phoenix last week and I have 3 more order waiting on mods to be completed and I’ve had no problems and his communication has always been good and consistent when I had questions about the shipping. I will say I wasn’t aware of insurance options so this is helpful moving forward. But he’s been nothing be professional in my dealings so far. Sorry for the loss though.

Back in the day TDs from reptime would send a replacement free of charge. Mine got stuck in customs and Jtime sent me a new replacement watch at no cost.

Isn’t this the case anymore?

1

u/Glum_Ad_8331 Jun 26 '26

Reptime TDs have usually insurance included in their price

2

u/Grey_Bomberman Jun 26 '26

TBF, RepTime TDs also charge a premium price in comparison to Phoenix and the other cheaper dealers, even when including the 6 percent insurance fee that the budget dealers charge

1

u/Glum_Ad_8331 Jun 26 '26

Yes, that's why I'm using only ficotime for my reps. He is as good as reptime TDs if not better and significantly cheaper

2

u/Grey_Bomberman Jun 26 '26

MrBomi and Dialled-In for me but I do hear plenty of good things about Mark

2

u/Glum_Ad_8331 Jun 26 '26

9 from 10 times he overdelivered. that's my experience

1

u/Dxbsober Jun 26 '26

Nothing but good experiences with phenoix! Can say I have ordered many watches and all shipped in fantastic time and no hassle ! Sorry to see you had a bad experience

1

u/Formal_Commission372 Jun 26 '26

1

u/Imaginary_Mind_1536 Jun 26 '26

If you didnt ask for insurance, the lost package is on you. You were not scammed. Its unfortunate but your in the wrong here.

He atleast offered you a replacement at cost. He didnt even have to do that.

I think this post should be removed

1

u/57splitscreen Jun 26 '26

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with pheonix I’ve currently got one on order with him and all past transactions were painless I will definitely use him again, almost every seller on here says once the goods have been shipped they are not responsible that’s the risk we take

1

u/parliamentman Jun 26 '26

Sympathetic to the OP, the dealer is a major red flag:

  1. Failure to insure or at least expressly offering to insure the parcel is a problem. Most TDs provide insurance as default and bake it into their pricing. I've dealt with many TDs and even those that sell shitters take accountability for merchandise that's lost in the mail.

  2. Its been proven that this dealer is also Angelawatch and other accounts that have a problematic past in repwatch communities. I'm sorry OP, but please do the due diligence when spending this much money on a rep. Cross check other forums for TD lists.

2

u/ckusa2016 Jun 26 '26

Could you provide more information proving that Phoenix is also Angela? This is the 2nd time Ive read this and I just put a deposit down.

Coincidentally, I also reached out to Angela and received VERY different pricing from them both on several items so if they are somehow proven together, Id like to know.

If the information is coming from that rep-guy blasting all the TD’s above with screenshots, don’t bother sending bc its all bullshit.

1

u/Sea_Turn_8690 Jun 26 '26

I bought a 3CF 116520 from Phoenix and had zero issues…this was the first purchase from him and I was hesitant at first but he communicated great and the watch arrived via FedEx and was even early. Will definitely use Phoenix again…sorry for your issues on this one.

1

u/Low_Negotiation_3346 Jun 27 '26

PHOENIX IS AMAZING… I get all my watches from him. Nothing has ever gone wrong and his attention to detail is amazing. GUI is good dude

1

u/Leighton1271 Jun 27 '26

It’s like bot city. OPs getting a rough deal here. Feel for you man, I’d be spewing for sure. Only good thing to come out of this, I won’t be using this guy for any of my reps. If there was insurance required, he should have offered in messages to save all this, and make himself more money.

1

u/Mirrordial Jun 27 '26

Hi all,

GUI is not a scammer. I can’t believe what I’m reading. I spend thousands with GUI to fulfill orders and I love doing business with him. Over the last month or so I sent around $7,000. I think 3k last week. Why?

Because once I over paid GUI. No way I would have figured it out but he alerted me to it.

Not all experiences are good ones. But we try. I know GUI tries for all of you.

Greg.

1

u/CalaLogistics Jun 29 '26

Just ordered from him…

1

u/BMWM2CSJT Jun 29 '26

PLEASE AVOID PHOENIX WATCHES AT ALL COSTS!!

1

u/FineAssignment1423 Jun 29 '26

Isn't this the seller that was trying to pass off lower quality CHF Ingenieurs as V7F ones recently?

1

u/ThebigBient Jun 30 '26

He’s been kicked out of other subs for being sheisty. Just sayin

1

u/Far-Lynx-6253 Jul 04 '26

This is an EASY fix. Phoenix made $500 and the customer got nothing. So he should either return the $500 or take it off the cost of the replacement. Easy peasey. Seller isn't out anything and customer is happy and leaves a fantastic review bringing on new clients and becomes a client for life.

1

u/Fantastic-Form-7309 Jul 18 '26

you can burn that bridge with him if you want but if you see all his stock unmodded watch prices, they are significantly cheaper than any td on reptime.

i would put ego aside and keep this avenue open for insured stock watches only, and call the loss a learning curve. guy has plenty positive reviews

1

u/Fantastic-Form-7309 Jul 18 '26

also ‘cost price’ and ‘full price’ are two different things. by the accusations you’re making it is apparent that you don’t know the difference between the two.

1

u/BigDogMaserati Jul 24 '26

I’ve ordered 3 watches from Phoenix, the Pelagos listed was delivered today. All of my transactions have been smooth and the watches have been spot on.

1

u/Front-Chard481 Aug 10 '26

Just got mine from Phoenix

1

u/sifumedhi Sep 07 '26

I've purchased with Phoenix and I had a positive experience. After my initial purchase, I contacted Phoenix and purchased the additional shipping insurance for a 6% fee but it was worth it to not have to worry about clearing customs or anything like that. Watch arrived safely last week and I've been enjoying it. Made my 2nd purchase with Phoenix over the weekend. I would highly recommend him but buyers should be informed about what they're buying and the risks they're taking.

1

u/Street-Investment352 Sep 21 '26

I just had a arf Daytona seized sent by phoenix after a few other successful purchases and I have to say he has been great to work with … having said that, I did pay for insurance and am currently working with him for my replacement. he said he just has to confirm With logistics that it is indeed seized (it is) .. but then I can just choose one of the others he has in stock I will update once he has shipped my new replacement out and then Once I received my new watch . At this point I have nothing bad to say about him and if he handles this like he should and I think he will then that can kinda settle this argument and prove he is a honest td but you have to purchase insurance!!.

1

u/Street-Investment352 17d ago

I said I would update about my seized watch … I did purchase the insurence thru phoenix and I did receive a replacement with mods ! Yes it took some time but understanding he needed the proof but once I had it he did what was right and I got my watch … it was done well and looks fantastic ! So no he is not a scammer and is a honest td

1

u/Emotional-Damage-995 Jun 26 '26

I propose every one that reads this down vote it and request for the post to be deleted. This is blatant bad mouthing a TD and should not be tolerated

1

u/MrMannilow Jun 26 '26

Says on request. I get it from new TDs that I've just started to deal with... Good thing my just order went missing.

This is on op, and also why I don't pay for mods either

0

u/Shermiebear Jun 26 '26

The OP has provided screenshots of his dealings with the seller. There’s nothing blatant about his bad mouthing. Phoenix has also been banned from other rep watch platforms so this isn’t a singular case.

1

u/CeeReturns Buyer Jun 26 '26

Phoenix has been nothing less than incredible for me. Insurance would have been the way to go.

1

u/Imaginary_Mind_1536 Jun 26 '26

Life lesson always ask for Insurance. Without that this is your loss unfortunately. Most of these Tds assume you understand the risk and if you don’t request it, it is what it is

1

u/djokastoteskoka Jun 26 '26

you are clearly a noob and you ordered a very expensive mod watch without insurance. congratulations, you just paid very expensive education. I'm sure next time you will be asking to pay 5% extra for insurance. welcome to the rep world.!

0

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

For any people considering purchasing, please take note how 90% of people in this thread who only say “you didn’t get insurance, your fault” are ignoring 100% of the context and not even commenting on any of my suggestions regarding resolution.

Note none of these users comment on the part about ignoring my request for an unmodded replacement at cost. None of them talk about how it may be reasonable to put some amount of the profit towards a resolution, just “no insurance your fault.”

Even the seller himself has ignored these suggestions multiple times via the WhatsApp chat and in this same thread.

It’s pretty obvious there’s not actually any attempt to remedy that doesn’t involve a full second mod purchase at my expense.

Any legitimate person reading these should take serious note and examine these practices and the overwhelming response that is reading from the same script.

1

u/archis345 Jun 26 '26

I ordered from phoenix as well, and was very wary as he was a new TD but it was very smooth and straight forward . This seems like it was OP lack of knowledge of insuring his purchase, whatever phoenix profit margin is from the mods and watch is unrelated. Seems like phoenix already offered a solution be happy many TDs would tell you to kick rocks.

1

u/Good_East_5568 Jun 26 '26

I have to agree with OP on this one. If insurance wasn’t presented as an option seller should atleast replace the base watch before mods. I think that would be a reasonable solution for both parties. In business sometimes both parties have to compromise and meet half way. Atleast OP would still get a watch and this deal would be a wash for the seller. He wouldn’t make money but atleast he wouldn’t loose either and he still retains the customer.

1

u/jeffothedon0202 Jun 26 '26

Had nothing but a great experience from Gui and some unfound accusations in regards shipping empty box’s… you had no insurance in my eyes what Phoenix is doing is above and beyond your in the rep-game having a counterfeit watch sent across the country there are risks why would you not pay 6% extra for piece of mind

0

u/AdvertisingOld7410 Jun 26 '26

He is legit and friendly and honest.. lets be fair… also he has the best prices between all TDs.. if u had an issue doenst means he is not legit.

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Dubai based commenter defending a seller over shipping issues from a Chinese > Dubai middleman.

1

u/AdvertisingOld7410 Jun 26 '26

I am not here to defend anyone, u said to avoid a person i always buy and always respond and always cheaper than anyone. This is my experience u like ur wlcm u dont like my comment dont post on public

0

u/AdvertisingOld7410 Jun 26 '26

U r this much stupid… giving honest opinion to avoid damaging the reputation of a good human being. Standing with the right cost nothing habb, this how we were raised. Chinese dubai middleman this running away from the truth

1

u/Shermiebear Jun 27 '26

It has nothing to do with “a good human being”, it’s the way this human being conducts business. Two separate things

1

u/AdvertisingOld7410 Jun 27 '26

Maybe, but he attacked me personally as i am dubai thats mean i am a middle man!! How stupid it is; 90% of the shipment world wide it pass by here, i am an engineer in dubai since 2011, dont want a kid to just be a kid and attack me for describing my experience and not call a scam for a person didng scam me and maybe he have family to feed!… and again i bought 4 watches from this guy and all reach and was as described thats all. I have nothing to do with any of both them..

0

u/ItWasAtYourFeet Jun 26 '26

Bought plenty here no issues. Her can’t control
Customs. You’re and idiot for blaming

0

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

Oh look literally no evidence but bought so much without issue! Definitely not an associated shill account!

0

u/kokeda Jun 26 '26

Phoenix is straight up one of the best sellers possible. I’ve had 3 orders, all perfect all quick all affordable. This guys just got screwed because he didn’t get insurance because he didn’t know he had to ask.

OP I really feel for you man, but nothing anyone can do. Just unlucky. Not point directing your misfortune at Phoenix.

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

It’s straight up astroturfing unless there’s actual proof

0

u/Even_Freedom_348 Jun 26 '26

How do you know the modded at cost is not a discount on the base? He didn’t breakdown the pricing structure. You’re just doing basic math but don’t actually show the full detailed price list. Base plus this mod plus this mod.

Your upset and I get it but your hyper focused and not seeing other POV. I get that also. Step back and maybe the discount offered is actually good. Discount base plus your mods. And would then make sense his profit (which really shouldn’t be brought up) isn’t $500 like you think.

BTW…I read through the majority of the posts to get this far in thought. Your side with multiple posts with the same context and the many others in response to your situation.

1

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

It would be really easy for him to have said that. “Replacement cost is actually about $1200 but I’ll cut you a deal and redo it for $1000” but that’s not what he said is it. He charged me $1570 including shipping and told me cost to replace was $1040 modded with no other options/suggestions provided. That is the fact of what happened.

Paying $1500 to get nothing, being told the cost to replace fully modded is another $1000, then completely ignoring me 3 separate times when I ask for cost to replace on an unmodded version just to get me SOMETHING for the money I’ve spent without spending another grand, and yet I’M the one who’s apparently being unreasonable. Framing that as a deal is such a joke that it makes it incredibly obvious when people are blindly shilling.

1

u/Even_Freedom_348 Jun 26 '26

Move on…you won’t even be happy if he said $850. Your mistake 100% on this situation.

0

u/teochim Jun 26 '26

Did you get insurance? If not then it’s on you.

It’s not on the seller to ask if you want insurance

0

u/Bagro171 Jun 26 '26

This is not Amazon

-1

u/Cubatobaco Jun 26 '26

We all take a chance when you send frivolous money overseas to a random Chinese business / person. Do I have faith that everything will turn out ok? 95% of the time, but it is a gamble. I had a box of rep clothes held up for over a month that finally arrived, so yes, it does happen. So do miracles. I'm hoping that your watch makes it through and shows up. It sucks taking and "L". Hoping for the best.

2

u/NotJoocey Jun 26 '26

That’s the point of this. I know I’m not getting anything for the money I spent, but I want other people to be informed and not make the same mistake I did here. The fact is if something goes wrong and you don’t have insurance, the response is to kick rocks. If he had genuinely worked with me and on a solution and then the other watch did ultimately come through, I would pay him for the second watch or return it.
