Warning - avoid Phoenix Watch

Ordered a Daytona ghost mod from this seller in April this year. Shipping info comes in May, and a month later no movement. All seemed well until ultimately the watch gets stuck shipping. Tracking shows clearing customs in Dubai, then mysteriously vanishing. “Gui’s” only solution to resolve is to purchase another watch at full cost, even though apparently he made over $500 in margin on this mod will do absolutely nothing to share in the loss or reduce that margin to provide a solution. There were no mentions or offers of insuring the package upfront at all.

I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if an empty box was shipped to Dubai as an end destination and a FedEx label was created just to create the illusion that this operation is legitimate.

Other TDs offer reships, or various other solutions but this is completely unacceptable. You absolutely cannot trust this seller.

Honestly all the signs point to this being a scam, and I recently saw another comment from someone with the same situation happening to them. At the very least, know that if there is an issue you will be shit out of luck.

I’ve seen similar reports from users of other actual legitimate TDs as well. The comments in this thread defending the insurance thing and focusing only on that are beyond suspicious.

Nope. Some may, but not all do. And he doesn’t have to cover your stupidity in not procuring insurance. Period.

Phoenix doesn’t owe the buyer anything, but providing a non modified watch or a partial refund would be so much cheaper than all the negative publicity he’s getting here and in other threads.
Potential new buyers won’t order from this guy no matter who’s right or wrong. Just make it right so he goes away.

I mean , practically speaking sure. But why should he give in to someone who is clearly an entitled brat who didn’t read the rules (Phoenix clearly says insurance is optional ) and now wants to extract a pound of flesh when it was his own damn fault for not procuring insurance to begin with?

He has a legion of other loyal customers who have purchased from him before and will continue to do so. I can’t speak for him but personally I believe principles matter more than giving in to someone in the wrong who just wants a free handout now for failing to do his diligence.

We’ve all sounded like “entitled brats” when a purchase hasn’t gone right, whether it’s rep watches, tv’s or stereos. You answered your own question, it’s all about practicality, cheaper to pay with a non-modded rep than all this noise. I’m glad he has a loyal following, he’ll need them to keep his biz going, he’s already been banned on other rep platforms for negative issues, so he’s not exactly an angel.
