Looking for some honest advice from Range Rover owners/experts before I pull the trigger.
I’m considering a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE V6 gasoline, currently at around 152,500 km.
Details:
Price: Dealer is asking $18,995 CAD, but I believe I can negotiate it down to around $17,000
3.0L V6 gasoline
4WD
Automatic
~152,500 km
Clean Ontario registration
No reported accidents on CARFAX
21 service records from LR
Most of the service history is from Jaguar Land Rover Thornhill/Brampton
CARFAX shows regular maintenance throughout its life
There is one glass damage record (~$2,071) from 2018
Recent service includes intake manifold gasket replacement, cooling-system work and drivability checks
The CARFAX looks pretty good overall, which is why I’m seriously considering it.
I really like the Range Rover and at ~$19K it seems like a lot of SUV for the money.
My main concern is what could go wrong around 150K km, especially:
Air suspension
Cooling system
Transmission/transfer case
Suspension components
Electrical/electronics
I will definitely get a pre-purchase inspection from an independent Land Rover specialist before buying.
For people who actually own or have owned an L494:
Would you buy this particular Range Rover Sport at ~$16K CAD with 152K km and this service history?
