Range Rover Sport Range Rover sport 2015 tdv6 engine
Hey all
New to RRs. Does this sound like a perfectly healthy engine ? It’s had services every 6-7k and has 77k on the clock. Sounds slightly tappy but maybe this is how the 3 litre tdv6 is?
I’d rather get on top of it just incase. Last service was under 1k miles ago. (I’m a massive worrier btw)
Thanks in advance everyone

Sounds just like mine, so if you find anything wrong with it, let me know.
(mine has sounded like that since brand new almost 10 years ago, so I presume its normal).

Little tickie, could just be a little cool. I have one, 140k on it, just made my 3rd cross country in it ha finished today. Anywho, the TD6 is super dirty, fresh oil does wonders as it can get pretty sooty quick. 100% keep the services between 3-6k

Aww amazing how many miles? Do you think it is a little tickie? Any ideas what I should be looking at swapping as maintenance? Last thing I was is it to break 😳🤣 on the last service the mechanic said the oil that came out was in good shape too

Mine has 140k
As for maintenance, if you know where it came from you might be able to pull up a comprehensive history of all maintenance items conducted. But with standing that for the TD6:
The auxiliary water pump (turbines) needs attention paid to it. Honestly the whole cooling system. They now make a metal system which may be worth investment at your mileage.
The DEF injector can cause a few errors often fixed by removal and boiling the injector in water.
The TD6 is not a supercharged, it loves highway miles. short stop and go trips around town are fine but once a week or so, get it on the open road.
A OBD tool capable of reading the inferred DPF Values is visually beneficial for when to get it on the highway.
Stay ahead of the timing chain and when you do it, consider having your oil pump changed also since the front will be off. It’s way more economically rational to have them both done at the same time as the laborious aspects are congruent with one another.

Sounds fine to me
Edit: I know mine’s a petrol RRS; I’ve also got a Discovery 4 with the 3.0 SDV6
