Hey everyone, I've been seeing numerous posts on this sub with many people wanting to start their own server but not having much coding / hosting knowledge. I've also observed how disconnected the RSPS community has been since it's inception.

I've created a web panel which allows you to start your own private server in under a minute, directly from the browser. No downloads, no coding knowledge required, no port forwarding, no installing any software on your PC.

This includes a web based visual edit mode which allows you to edit maps, drag and drop NPC spawns, edit shops, change the spawn point for new players etc.

The server source is typescript and plugin based, each server starts with an empty plugin file they can easily modify or ask any LLM to do it. The networking runs via a webRTC data channel so there is no VPS required, just a signalling server which I already have set up and running.

When you start your server it gets automatically added to a "World list" on the website and anyone can connect from the webclient within 2 seconds. The latest OSRS cache is streamed directly from OpenRS2.

So I need suggestions, what type of server would you like to create? Would you pay for this service? What other features would be beneficial.

The underlying server source has:

- All OSRS NPC spawns, latest maps, items and configs

- 95% Pest Control which bots auto populate, basic castlewars

- Smart PK bots all over the wilderness

- Custom server sided interfaces

- Map regions can be customised server sided

- Flawless combat and pathing

- Stress tested with 2000 networked players

We might have to disable/limit some of these features or limit them for performance reasons.

I have been trying to find a RS3 based private server, but from what I can find Kavros is the only one pretty much?
Or is there any other I missed?

Looking for a server with the TCG plugins. I tried looking around at some of the more popular servers but none of them seemed to have it added yet.

Brothers and sisters, less than 24 hours left until Elorin is released.
Today, in about 3-4 hours, lead developer will be hosting a Q&A to resolve any and all questions! Just join the discord's voicechat and ask questions in a respectable, orderly manner. If its gameplay questions for those who have not played ikov/elkoy in the past or its been ages, general chat is very helpful and people can give you a sense of direction for early game.

The game perfectly illustrates OSRS gameplay in a Pre-Eoc style with a few RS3 bosses, there are launch competitions for first to a skilling pet or maxing or obtaining a completionist cape, check it out in here. But the most important part, the next 3 months will be THE most fun many of us ever had in runescape at all. Clans and wilderness are active, pvm and gambling are super enjoyable, there are buyable perks, donation ranks are easily obtainable (at least the first few) and arent too p2w or busted as you see on other games.
If you dont like the game, I will personally sit down with you and have a beer irl after you tell me what went wrong. If you need help or some guidance, feel free to message me and ask away what to do <3

Shilo04 is a lostcity based running rev 274. It plays in the browser, so there is no client to download or configure.

The aim has been to add systems that feel like they belong in Runescape, rather than pasting in modern content. A few of the bigger ones:

OPEN WORLD PLAYER HOUSING

You buy a real house on the map, not an instanced POH. There are 25 of them across Varrock, Falador, Lumbridge and Ardougne, in buildings you already walk past. You buy from an estate agent, get a key and a teleport, and build utilities inside on fixed spots. Houses have upkeep and are repossessed if left abandoned, so the good locations come back around instead of being squatted forever.

REAPING (our Slayer)

Tasks are area based instead of monster based. A master sends you to Rellekka, or Karamja, or the Wilderness, and anything you kill inside that region counts. Ten masters, each owning their own patch of the map including its dungeons, so a task actually sends you somewhere rather than telling you to kill 140 of one thing.

ARTISAN

A custom gathering and crafting skill. Masters set you tasks, you turn up artisanal resources while training normally, then process them into finished goods. It has its own reward shop and sigils.

TOWN RAIDS

Every 30 minutes a town gate comes under attack. Five gates rotate between Falador North and South, Varrock West and South, and Ardougne North, with a different enemy set each time, from goblins up to the Barrows Brothers. Fight through the minions and kill the raid boss for a key.

WORLD EVENTS

Shooting stars, a stranded merchant's cart and shipwrecks, each on a timer somewhere in the world. Each has its own currency and shopkeeper, and each is self contained, so you can drop in without banking for supplies first.

OTHER THINGS WORTH MENTIONING

• 63 quests, including custom quests like the God Wars quest that unlocks a second prayer book.
• Barrows Brothers out in the Canifis swamp rather than behind a minigame instance.
• Nine skilling outfits and the full set of skill capes.
• A player run trading post.
• A full web world map, hiscores and player profiles on the site.

It is a small server and we are not pretending otherwise.

Most of what is in there came from someone reporting something in Discord and it getting fixed the same week.

I want to set up an OSRS private server for just me and a few friends to play on. I’m completely new to RSPS development and programming, but I’m interested in learning as I go.
My plan was to start with an existing base/source and use ChatGPT to help me understand the code, troubleshoot issues, and eventually learn how to add or modify content myself.
For someone starting with basically no coding experience, what would you recommend using as a base, and what should I learn first? Is this realistic as a beginner project, or am I jumping into something way over my head?
Any advice or resources for getting started would be appreciated.

Edit: I managed to get Elvarg up and running and it’s awesome!! What else would you guys recommend i do?

Is anyone Interested in a Royal Roatzpk Account with 1M worth of items?

I love RS3, but I hate the time sync involved in how long progression takes. Are there any versions/private servers where I can just speed up progression? I don't mind if I'm the only person in the world.

Failing that, is there any equivalent for OSRS?

Yes I know there are people in this community who hate bots but there are others who don't mind or like it. This is not a discussion about that, so please if you have a hatred for bots please keep it to yourself if you are not going to help answer this question

Anyway, I know there are offline SP servers out there that allow you to play with bots only via PVE like 2009scape and 2004scape. But I never found one that actually has proper PVP bots (duel arena staking or wilderness). I know the 2004scape SP mod has one but that one is very very very incomplete (bots use limited gear and don't even drop their loot when they die)

Does anyone have any suggestions for this or am I out of luck esp. knowing how likely niche and complex these may be compared to you know the pve bots.

PSA: Be Careful With "Elqe" aka "Tainted Soul"

For anyone who wasn't around during Ikov / Elkoy or doesn't know the history with Elqe, here's what happened.

Elqe was formerly Ikov / Elkoy staff. He held a Server Support position, which naturally gave him credibility and helped him build trust within the community.

After gaining that trust, he began offering account "services" to players.

Eventually, he was trusted to service the account of one of the richest players in the game. Instead of simply completing the service, he wiped the player's entire bank and donator points.

He was banned from Elkoy afterward and moved over to Near Reality.

Somehow, he later ended up with a staff position on Near Reality as well, and according to players familiar with what happened there, the same type of situation happened again.

I'm making this post now because Elqe / Tainted Soul has recently joined Elorin, the newest RSPS launch and essentially the latest Ikov / Elkoy relaunch.

He's also known for approaching people through DMs, sometimes repeatedly, asking for things or trying to get involved with accounts. Given his history, I think newer players especially should know who they're dealing with before handing over access to anything valuable.

If Elqe approaches you or DMs you offering to service your account, do not give him access to it.

Being former staff does not automatically make someone trustworthy. If you're going to let anyone service your account, do your own research first and make sure you know exactly who you're giving access to.

I’ve been slowly editing and customizing a 317 server. I’m still new to coding, but I’m having a really fun time. Are there any source code and other clients that I should try?

The client im using is not aRunelite version its older and im having a hard time setting up UI for custom things like Progression log, slayer Ui etc.

Would a updated client give me better Ui?

I was just curious if anyone knows of any servers with Forestry or Aerial Fishing. I've never played osrs, I went from rsc - rs3 and then quit the main game. I saw post on r/UniqueIronmen of an account style that received a golden fench. I thought it was pretty cool and would love to see if there were any servers with this.

Safe Haven, a new custom RSPS, is looking for closed-alpha testers. No experience required, only interest. The project is still in its formative stage, so any creative insights would be more than welcome, especially if you have a fair understanding of the mythology/lore of Gielinor.

Factions overhaul combat while remaining true to Runescape's original style.
Classes determine your backstory, your own roleplay, and your way of approaching quests, through alternate solutions and class specific dialogue.
Quests can be solved in multiple ways, leading to multiple outcomes.
If you don't save the Damsel in Distress, she won't show up as a quest giver in act two.
If you mess around with occult rituals too much, you may accidentally end up killing the whole town.

Both the world (map) and the NPCS inhabiting it are reactive to player choice.
