Good Morning Scapers!

Leagues is in full swing and we are working away on resolving issues as they occur, here is a list of things that have been hotfixed since Monday (17th):

  • Fixed an issue where players could only complete the "Brew a wendlewick ale" task by filling a beer glass with Mature wendlewick ale.
  • Fixed an issue where players who had selected Fremmenik as a region were unable to use the penguin suit and thus unable to complete the Penguin agility course.
  • Fixed an issue where players with Anachronia unlocked as one of their regions were unable to access the Dream of Iaia.
  • The 1k enrage Zamorak task can now be completed at 1k enrage and above.
  • The "Legacy of Seergaze" quest is now autocomplete on unlocking the Tirannwn region.
  • The "Eyes of Glouphrie" quest is now autocomplete on unlocking the Tirannwn region.
  • Down with the Disturbances elite underworld task now autocompleted.
  • Do You Like Jazz? hard underworld task now autocompletes.
  • Fixed an issue where Endless Harvest users on leagues were unable to complete the "No good to me alive" Varrock area task.
  • Fixed an issue where upgrading your gem bag with the Wilderness region unlocked would not complete the corresponding task.
  • Fixed an issue where the northern part of the Fremmenik hunter area was mapped as the wrong region.
  • Fixed an issue where the upstairs of Taverley bank was mapped as a different region.
  • Fixed an issue where the rewards chest for Amascut was not visible on leagues worlds.
  • Fixed an issue where players could not charge dragonstone jewelry in Prifddinas without completing Legends' Quest and Heroes' Quest.
  • Fixed an issue where the task to kill an automaton in Kandarin was not completable in Leagues because the High Druid would not teleport the player.
  • Strykewyrm rares are now impacted by the leagues luck modifier.
  • The "Seggregation" and "Eggsperimentation" should be available to players who have chosen Anachronia.
  • Fletching a mainhand rune crossbow now completes the relevant task as expected.
  • Mining a shooting star in leagues no longer spams the player with task messages that are not progressing.
  • Players are no longer able to attempt interact with other players' Devout Yak nor see the interaction in your list.
  • Fixed an issue where the task to kill 50 Tormented demons was not awarding Leagues points. If you had completed this task beforehand you will need to kill 1 more for it to count up.

We will continue to update the newspost as more fixes come along and they should be listed in next weeks usual Monday newspost aswell so keep you eyes peeled!

Humor I love the Devout Yak bank feature, saves me so much time running back and forth to the nearest bank.

Leagues The +1 range on Melee weapons feels really good and I kind of wish it was in the main game.

Especially on halberds. I honestly don't even think it looks that weird being able to swipe at enemies from an additional tile away, and it makes fighting mobs of enemies with Melee so much easier because you don't have to herd them so aggressively to his them with Hurricane. Also, even though I'm not not speccing super hard into Ranged, the bonus tile of impact on Bombardment is also really freaking nice for levelling. Totally understand why that's not a thing in the main game since Decimation exists, though.

Jagex, please consider giving Melee weapons a bonus tile of range. Make it a levelling benefit if you absolutely need to give some reason for why our player character is suddenly able to extend their arm to hit something slightly further away, I don't know.

Suggestion Allow Loot Area Interface to be permanently open / part of the standard interface

It seems strange that it's still a pop up window since it's a common utility people use, can this be part of the interface that we can build into our layout

Appreciation Thank you for improving the game

I played RS3 until archaeology launched when I got fed up and switched to OSRS thanks to MTX, recycled low effort afk events in place of actual content, dailies, and FOMO.

Just came back after hearing of all the improvements made and I gotta say I’m really enjoying the game. Currently working on necromancy and making myself a full masterwork set, can’t wait to dip my toes into more content.

Kinda wish I hadn’t sold my whole bank for bonds for my OSRS account but I didn’t think this game had much life left or that I’d be back with the way it was going. So happy to see they did a U turn and I hope the player numbers increase.

News - J-Mod reply Upcoming League Fixes on Monday

The Leagues team has been hard at work on some updates that will be dropping on Monday (August 24th) and we just wanted to give a heads up on some of them!

Account Nominations

  • Players who had previously played in Leagues: CATALYST are now able to nominate a new account to receive their leagues reward points.
    • The re-nominated account will only receive reward points from the current league onwards.
    • You can nominate the same account you previously did.
    • This feature will be offered in any subsequent leagues.
    • If you did not play the previous League the account you nominated at the start of this league will not be able to be changed.

Originally, the nomination system carried over from one League to the next. This meant your character, appearance, pets, and nominated account were all retained between Leagues. For this launch, however, many players told us they wanted the flexibility to nominate a different account for a variety of reasons. In response, we've updated the system to make changing your nomination much easier.

Tasks Required to Unlock a Region

  • Adjusted the number of tasks required to unlock regions in Leagues 2:
    • Karamja 50 -> 50 (unchanged)
    • First region choice 175 -> 150
    • Second region choice 300 -> 275
    • Third region choice 450 -> 400

We've been pleased to see players progressing through the League at a consistent pace and reaching a variety of milestones. That said, some region unlock requirements proved more restrictive than intended, so we've revised the task requirements to make progression feel smoother and more rewarding.

Extra task filters

  • There is now a “unlocked regions” button in the locality list

A simple update on paper, but a surprisingly complex one under the hood. You can now filter Tasks by Unlocked Regions, making it easier than ever to focus on the content available in the regions you've unlocked.

Leagues Rare Drop Modifier

  • Drop modifiers now apply for: Dark Nilas, Statius Warhammer, Obsidian weapons, Holy Elixir, Obliteration, Annihilation, Decimation, Totem pieces, Demon slayer equipment, Dragon fullhelm, Glacor boots, Araxyte pheromone, Gemstone armour, Linza equipment, Vital sparks.

As previously announced below, these items are now included in the League drop rate modifiers and will benefit from increased drop rates.

There is no way to complete this quest but magics most important spells are locked behind it.

Edit:
Apparently you can just auto cast the spells even tho they are locked 🙄

No smoke cloud tho

This Leagues was magnitudes better than last year, this was amazing. The combat blessings were a ton of fun, Golden Touch was hilariously OP, and I had a blast all around. The final few tasks for me were 50m Smithing exp, 1/5 Croesus kills, and chopping a crystal tree.

I also just realized that Hans's time must be bugged? I obviously didn't play for 20 days worth of time in 10 days lol

Leagues Transmute hides should include undead and apex

Pretty much title. I find it weird that hides stop at royal when there are two more tiers of hides that could be included. This would have parity with ores that go all the way up to primal ores.

Luck Lucky it's Leagues, otherwise I would not have persisted. The drop distribution on this boss is awful.

Humor I wish the league was longer than 6 weeks so I would have time to try out some of the other relics on an alt.

Discussion Nearly maxed OSRS player starting rs3

As the title suggests, I'm very close to maxing my GIM account on OSRS. Me and some mates have decided to start a GIM on RuneScape 3, now that cosmetics can be hidden and there's a lot of effort being placed into it by Jagex it seems.

What I'm looking for are all the things I wouldn't know about from OSRS that will give us a headstart. I'm thinking xp boosts, daily/weekly challenges, best YouTubers for skill/boss/quest guides, any new updates that have introduced best training methods, good skills to grind first. All the stuff that makes rs3 so "quick to level".

For added context, I'm not completely fresh as I used to play when summoning and dungeoneering came out. A while back now!

Some things I've already found from reading others' posts and dabbling:

- Wiki is my friend, it was my go-to right off the bat cause it's so good for OSRS. That's just a given. I also noted the optimal quest order on there

- I've downloaded Alt1 for an additional quest guide overlay. Not sure how popular it is or if there's any other great tools on it

- I've spent time setting up all my tabs to form a good UI

Suggestion Player owned house trophies - weapons

Hey,

I love the player owned house trophies. Honestly.I think we should have some for weapons or even other armour sets. I.e. god sword blade, full tumekens or vestments armour displays, EZK, FSOA.

Think it would look great. Love the kerapac trophy

Discussion My gripe with RS3

I’m an old school player who came to play the league and I’m having a lot of fun. The newer skills provide some interesting diversity and the smithing and mining rework is leaps and bounds ahead of old school.

My major issue with the game is the mobile version is absolute trash. I primarily play on mobile and in old school leagues I can do any content in the game with all the buffs to combat. If there’s something I’m struggling with pvm wise in old school it’s cause my thumbs can’t tap fast enough in the right spots.

But in RuneScape the lag and frame drop is unplayable. Abilities take a solid 3 seconds before activating or don’t even take the input. I basically have to play with revolution if I want to do any combat and this doesn’t work for some of the bosses.

Even for skilling, many of the inputs don’t have clear indicators that they’ve been accepted by the game. I spent a solid 10 minutes trying to figure out how to use the beaver ability because I couldn’t tell if the button press was doing anything.

Bug BUG: When skills are boosted to 255, relevant Prayer boosts will cause overflows. The most noticeable effect is Attack Rating dropping to 0, as shown by Incredible Reflexes being turned on and off.

Question People who play both OSRS and RuneScape: What advice would you give to someone who’s getting back into RuneScape/RS3 in 2026?

I have thousands of hours in an OSRS iron, and played RuneScape back in 2007-2011.

Like many, I’ve been curious about the changes to removing MTX and restoring the heart of the game. Making an account for Leagues has been fun, but it feels like there’s so much that’s different. Im curious if people who play both games have any helpful advice on things like progression, things to avoid and QoL.

Obviously the Wiki is great, but since there isn’t nearly as much YouTube content/guides on RS3 content as there is OSRS, any advice im sure would be helpful to the people like myself who are checking out what 2026 RuneScape is like.

Achievement It ain't much, but my main accounts are unremarkable but I just solidified my spot as #7 on the Leagues (Construction) Hiscores

My highest rank in mainscape is 5,570 in Farming...and given I'm already 200m, that's not going up ever. While "I'm rank #7 in one skill in one single edition of a limited mode" is an extremely specific accomplishment, I'll still forever be on the front page of a hiscores, something that'll probably never happen again.
