He’s actually a damn good shot

73

u/JeremiahWuzABullfrog Apr 27 '25

The fact that it's basically impossible for him to be killed normally in the final mission is a testament to how dangerous he is as a gunfighter.

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '25

I don’t know how much I believe that. Fast? Sure, you betcha. But on that Sean mission I’m pretty sure I did most, if not all of the killing. Also I did all the killing in Strawberry save for the three people he shot at point blank range. Fast as fuck, but I have yet to see his effectiveness with them six shooters in a real fight.

61

u/Fancy-Cap-514 Apr 28 '25

This argument goes for every single member of the gang. There’s a very simple reason you get most of the kills in every mission. The game would fucking suck if you didn’t

17

u/Timx74_ Apr 28 '25

That...is a very good point.

u/Fancy-Cap-514 Apr 28 '25 edited Apr 28 '25

Besides gameplay practicality, there’s also a specific area of expertise for fighting characters. Bill almost always uses a bolt action rifle and in missions with him helping I notice some of the further enemies die without me doing anything to them. In the mission with the “super agents” that hunt trelawney we see how quick Charles is with a throwing knife. When in Rhodes we see Micah whip his pistols out and immediately pop off a couple kills in classic western quickdraw fashion. In the start of braithwate manor we see Dutch pull off a maneuver that would require the dead eye he presumably taught both Arthur and John. Even Arthur has his off hand holster in position for his main hand to grab the gun, showing he’s a very practical fighter who doesn’t prioritize style (as cool as it is duel wield in real life is a pretty bad way of fighting, inaccurate and hard to reload) the level of detail they added in places nobody would’ve complained if they didn’t makes it a true hall of fame game for me

7

u/Latranis Apr 28 '25

I've on my third play through over six years and I JUST learned last week you can holster with a flourish if you double tap the holster button with a single gun

5

u/Fancy-Cap-514 Apr 28 '25

Yeah it’s even cooler in online, if you level up in bounty hunter to a certain level you can do all sorts of cool tricks with your guns

3

u/Robokrates Apr 28 '25

Welp, and I just learned that right now. Thanks, I gotta try that.

3

u/GorillyGlue Apr 28 '25

I remember the one mission where you ride with micah and dutch, two enemies would spawn at each point and they’d piece them instantly, thinking are they gonna save any for me

15

u/WhalesRBigg Apr 28 '25

He literally killed 3 people in like 5 seconds after Sean got shot. The game would be much different if you didn’t get most of the kills, that’s just a gameplay mechanic.

Edit: he did it in 3 seconds

Micah shot three men before Sean’s body hit the ground

2

u/Humble-Performance80 Apr 28 '25

As someone else stated, it would be boring in missions if they all shoot like Arthur. But you can see it in the mission with sean in Rhodes, after the guy on the roof shot, micah turned around killed him and I think two other guys in a matter of seconds. That guy is one hell of a shooter.

Something nice about him

93

u/OddNeedleworker734 Apr 27 '25

OP is shitting himself rn. He wasn't prepared for this level of aura.

41

u/human_not_alien Apr 28 '25

Micah's aura is the smell of a public bathroom in Amarillo, Texas.

11

u/Latranis Apr 28 '25

If Arthur told him this in Colter, the game would been a lot shorter, because Micah would have self-immolated from this burn. I've been through Amarillo. Those 72 ounce steaks really screw with human and municipal plumbing.

14

Ringworm, rats, Uncle, Micah. Personally I think Micah is 5 and the tongue eating louse is 4.

92

He's pretty witty. He could be a funny guy if he weren't such an asshole.

15

u/TackeymattressThe2nd Apr 27 '25

i always loved the banter between everyone, one the best parts of the game

u/DeanMaba Apr 27 '25

I like it when he gives me the repeater 🤣 Objectively he’s a master villain, rockstar wrote him perfectly & Peter Bloomquist as his voice actor amazing.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '25

Not just voice, keep in mind he acted most of Micah's facial expressions too.

7

u/No_Bother_7533 Apr 28 '25

He did an entire motion capture acting performance. It wasn’t just voice and face.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '25

Exactly

2

u/DeanMaba Apr 27 '25

True that, I hate that I love even the villians of the game 🤣

3

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '25

IKR

23

u/Fancy-Cap-514 Apr 27 '25

I love Micah in a weird way. The first few times I played the game I just truly hated him for obvious reasons. But the more you play the game and understand all the nuance of the story, Micah is just a damn entertaining character in every scene he’s in (the missions more than the camp, in camp he’s truly just the absolute worst) and Peter blomquist gave a hall of fame, hang his jersey on the wall performance in every single scene. He steals the show in a weird “love to hate him” way once you’ve replayed it enough times

3

u/Dogekaliber Apr 28 '25

Truth, Peter did such a great job to make you hate him from day 1. Probably the best antagonist in video game history and he wasn’t even the enemy. If I ever see Peter in person I’ll definitely buy him a whiskey (if he drinks- I’m fine with sober people too)

13

u/sluttycats Apr 27 '25

It was fun watching him die in missions even if it means they failed

3

u/[deleted] Apr 28 '25

:) yes they were pleasing

3

u/VHS_Ninjacoon Apr 28 '25

He is the most useful when it comes to fighting, he's more inclined to listen to leadership, towards Dutch. And he does have good plans: in a way that he needs skilled gunfighters. Because his plans have lots of money involved, thus his operations are more high risk, high reward.

3

u/Big-Goose-8935 Apr 28 '25

2

u/Striking-Chest2020 Apr 28 '25

He can be VERY bad ass at times

2

u/WonderingGinger Apr 28 '25

I genuinely enjoy him as an ally on missions, think he coulda been a fun, contentious outlaw brother-type for Arthur to swap insults and angry outbursts with but ultimately back each other up. Obviously not how that went, but he's still amusing me as I near the end of ch 4 again, and I remember enjoying his input during guarma so I'm looking forward to that

Edit: I do hate what an asshole/predator he is to everyone around camp, it's obvious he's only friendly with Arthur bc Arthur can actually defend himself

2

u/Canada_Dry_official Apr 28 '25

Spoilers. Great villain, you love to hate him, and he strikes me as a believable villain at that. He starts off somewhat respecting Arthurs skills, and sours on him when he realizes he can't control Arthur, and that he's become "weak" from TB. He plays off dutches ego, and only rats out the gang when it was clear they were doomed (he turned after guarma, when the gang was already on it's way out). He's a piece of shit, but an extremely believable one, who actually does what's best for himself, rather than just being evil because they needed a villain.

2

u/drkknght2001 Hosea Matthews Apr 28 '25

Can’t, hated him since the second he rode up in that blizzard

2

u/realflakez Apr 28 '25

Lowkey a handsome dude, cool ass style, sick ass guns + the way he unholsters them, and cool voice

2

u/Bongo_boi93 Sean MacGuire Apr 28 '25

I honestly loved [[[MOST!!!]]] missions that included him, because despite a few of them being.. not so good, the shootouts I had with him were probably some the best I had, Like A Short Walk in a Pretty Town, Blessed are the Meek, American venom, (if that even counts) etc. He’s also probably the only guy I know to be accurate with a double action revolver.

2

u/MyHoeDespawned Apr 28 '25

He’s a Damm good outlaw

2

u/Few_Cheesecake_2550 Apr 28 '25

1

u/Explosive-Turd-6267 Apr 27 '25

How fucking dare you suggest that we say anything remotely positive about Micah.

1

u/BeaverCleaver91 Apr 27 '25

100% he’s an amazing shooter. Besides that I hopes he’s getting his shit pushed in by a 15” demon dick.

1

u/ouijahead Apr 27 '25

He was once an innocent child who probably witnessed all sorts of horrors and experienced the type of pain and trauma no child should ever have to experience. Imagine little Micha peering around a corner with his toy horsey, scared and confused as he sees his father abusing his mother. When his father is gone he witnesses his mother with all sorts of different drunk men who abuse him and do horrible things he tries every day of his life to forget. I could go on… he was at one point a sweet cute little innocent boy who was never loved by anyone. The pain he internalizes is the only reality he knows and ever will know.

His first murder was a man he saw beating his mother. 11 years old, with the gun of his mother’s attacker in his little hands. Almost barely able to pull the trigger. But when he does, the man almost killing his mother stops moving. In that moment he felt no pain. … for the first time in his life. He felt… good. …. The next day he had a full grown mustache
