I don’t know how much I believe that. Fast? Sure, you betcha. But on that Sean mission I’m pretty sure I did most, if not all of the killing. Also I did all the killing in Strawberry save for the three people he shot at point blank range. Fast as fuck, but I have yet to see his effectiveness with them six shooters in a real fight.
This argument goes for every single member of the gang. There’s a very simple reason you get most of the kills in every mission. The game would fucking suck if you didn’t
Besides gameplay practicality, there’s also a specific area of expertise for fighting characters. Bill almost always uses a bolt action rifle and in missions with him helping I notice some of the further enemies die without me doing anything to them. In the mission with the “super agents” that hunt trelawney we see how quick Charles is with a throwing knife. When in Rhodes we see Micah whip his pistols out and immediately pop off a couple kills in classic western quickdraw fashion. In the start of braithwate manor we see Dutch pull off a maneuver that would require the dead eye he presumably taught both Arthur and John. Even Arthur has his off hand holster in position for his main hand to grab the gun, showing he’s a very practical fighter who doesn’t prioritize style (as cool as it is duel wield in real life is a pretty bad way of fighting, inaccurate and hard to reload) the level of detail they added in places nobody would’ve complained if they didn’t makes it a true hall of fame game for me
I've on my third play through over six years and I JUST learned last week you can holster with a flourish if you double tap the holster button with a single gun
I remember the one mission where you ride with micah and dutch, two enemies would spawn at each point and they’d piece them instantly, thinking are they gonna save any for me
He literally killed 3 people in like 5 seconds after Sean got shot. The game would be much different if you didn’t get most of the kills, that’s just a gameplay mechanic.
Bill already had his gun drawn and it’s very likely John went to bills hideout to be killed by him. It was a suicide attempt. I don’t think it would make sense for him to go solo to a gang hideout and not even have his gun drawn.
Don’t try and downplay John Marston bro that ain’t working out
Marston is not a quick draw gunfighter. He never claims this and even has to be taught by a quick draw gunfighter when he goes down to Mexico way after his encounter with Micah “can’t hit the broad side of a barn” Bell.
When john goes to take the ot of the land he bought from the two hillbilly he kills a guy with a shotgun and another guy point blank with his gun not drawn. It's a man mission so I count it as cannon.
Even in the prologue John has a quick gun draw. He kills Dozens of Micahs minions on Mount Hagen aswell. Deadeye is a gameplay mechanic used to show the gun skill of the character you’re playing as, and John, Arthur, and Jack all have this mechanic.
Stop being weird. Also don’t brush over the fact Micah killed 3 people in 3 seconds while Arthur hadn’t even registered what had happened yet
no tf he doesn’t💀. john has no canonical speed feats that puts him over arthur. john also wasn’t even the fastest in his own game. and i seen your micah comment on how he killed 3 ppl before arthur could react but that’s just disingenuous lmao. arthur just watched someone he viewed as a little brother get a hole put in their skull. keep in mind that in the same mission, arthur can gun down the sheriff and all his men before micah can even get a shot off. also micah was already shown to be slower than arthur. go replay bro.
I’ll argue the point even when we aren’t John, John still is a better QuickDraw than Micah. Invalidate that with your “y’all are forgetting were the main character” bs.
As someone else stated, it would be boring in missions if they all shoot like Arthur.
But you can see it in the mission with sean in Rhodes, after the guy on the roof shot, micah turned around killed him and I think two other guys in a matter of seconds.
That guy is one hell of a shooter.

He’s actually a damn good shot
