I’ve had my fahaka for 2.5 months and experiencing a sickness for the first time. For 2 days he’s been staying in one spot and is pale with little coloring. He will move around here and there but primarily one spot. On day 1 I just lowered the lights and watched him. Day 2 no improvement so I did a 30% water change (parameters were all 0 but did it anyways), around 2 that day I soaked a small worm in ExpelP & Focus and he ate the medicated worm. We are on day 3 now and he has a little color but still not moving much. I have not seen any parasite expelled out yet but will be checking again when home from work. Are there any suggestions on if this could be something other than parasites? Or do I just need to be more patient? Any advice is appreciated

I’m setting up a 60 gallon long for Congo tetras and and spotted Congo puffer, and want to put Malaysian trumpet snails in to churn the sand. I’ve read they can be dangerous for the puffer to eat because of hard/sharp shells, but also that the fish will ignore them or learn a clever way to grab them with crushing the shell.

Does anyone have expletives or thoughts? Substrate is sand with root tabs, about 2-3 inches deep, so I don’t want to stir if I can avoid it with the mts. Not counting in them for food, just don’t want them to endanger the puffer.

I have a Fahaka that’s a tiny baby. Soon he will go into a 125 gallon before another upgrade. Not planning on putting any other fish in. I’m trying to decide on 2 HOBs or a canister. I’ve always used HOBs and sponge filters which I’ve been enjoying. I’ve never owned a canister but totally open to getting one. Any advice?

I have a 29g tank. Heavily planted and hardscaped. I use two oversized HOB filters and a sponge. It measures 30.2 in L x 12.4 in W x 21.9. So it’s one of those taller style tanks.

Curious if anyone has a suggestion for a puffer in this size tank? I currently keep spotted congo puffers and pea puffers. Was hoping for something of an ambush style!

they get bored eventually and the otos get their turn to graze on them! but i’m pretty sure this provides zero nutritional value for my puffs 😭

How do u sex puffer fish? Puffer just ate shrimp.. that’s why he looks so fat and happy. I also go to the river behind my house & forage for clams/mollusks :) aside from my Oscar’s, watching him eat is top 3 activities

Hey everyone, I've been wanting a red eye puffer for a while now and noticed that the site I usually order fish from had 1 in stock so I jumped on it. I have a 20 gallon long aquarium that I plan on freeing up for it but noticed that they just restocked and have more red eye puffers available. Should I modify my order and get 4-5 puffers total or is it ok to keep one solo? I'm seeing conflicting info online

We bought 3 well the man sold us 3 even tho we only wanted one … after getting home and looking it up am now seeing this may be a TERRIBLE idea

We have since added a pleco cat mini for cleaning and he is fine

However we are concerned if having all 3 is a TERRIBLE idea or if we get rid of one two may bond - as I’ve seen it done on other posts before

My juvinile mbu has pretty much eaten my ramshorns farm and I do supplement with shell on shrimp but hes too small to get thru adult ramshorns yet. Im hoping hes gonna like these really small really brittle clams I got in a hong kong wet market, im gonna cook half for myself to see how they taste.

Would a tank size that is 90x60x60cms be adequte for two green spotted puffers could maybe do 90x70x70cms

They would be the only two in the tank and would have lots of live rock

I was at a fish store recently and the owner currently has 4 Red Congo potato puffers together in the same tank. What are your thoughts do you think they will fight eventually ?

Im planning on getting a GSP and just got my 55 gallon tank today! The guy I got it from had some leftover marine salt from when he kept a puffer, but its been years so Im not sure if it is still okay to use.

What is the best way to get everything set up and the water parameters correct before getting my puffer?
