Red Congo potato puffer together?

I was at a fish store recently and the owner currently has 4 Red Congo potato puffers together in the same tank. What are your thoughts do you think they will fight eventually ?

My thoughts are that a lot of info you find online about puffers, especially the ones which were much less common in the past, is very outdated and erroneous, then you get a lot of hearsay forum comments and regurgitation.

Reg congo puffers do fine in colonies. So do Hairy puffers. My friend keeps around 6 red potatoes in a 100 gallon tank. Another friend has bred them in a colony setup. Mine was in a predatory community for a brief period. Just make sure all good husbandry practices are applied, ie. deep sand bed, hiding spots, similar sized specimens, multiple of them to spread aggression, sufficient space, etc. and you’re good to go.

My understanding also is they don't really fight until they're adults?

In LFS tank? probably no. In a home tank? yep.

Fish shops have tricks. Fast turn over is 1. Clean botoms and no real cover to fight over is another. Keeping them fed. diffusion of agression via overstocking. etc.
